  • Don't sit mindless in front of the TV. Go for a walk, take a shower (or bubble bath), learn a craft that keeps your hands busy (woodworking, etc), go to bed early - just do anything except the behavior that leads to carb binging.
  • Spaghetti squash!
  • Great job. And what a lovely collection of stylish hair bows on your bathroom counter ;)
  • You can't really compare the results of two different scales, but can only follow trends. BTW, with my scrubs, shoes, etc on, I weigh about 3.5 lbs more than when not wearing anything.
  • Outstanding!!!
  • I weigh often. I have been steadily losing but, this morning, I was up a pound. I did not panic. I knew the plate of chicken mole enchiladas and 2 ice-cold mugs of Shiner Bock at a local Mexican restaurant the evening before was the culprit. I enjoyed that meal and knew that my temporary weight gain was due to water…
  • This is very far from the truth. I am so proud of my mother, a victim of marital abuse, for getting out of the abusive relationship. Your situation has so many red flags that I am reminded of what I saw my mother go through. Please deal with this swiftly and safely. If it involves walking away from this marriage, the kids…
  • I log alcohol under 'Snacks.' And I just make sure I meet my calorie/macro guidelines for the day, with the majority of my calories coming from a variety of healthy sources. I've lost an average of 2lbs/week for the past 16 weeks, so it's working well so far.
  • I've lost 32 pounds (SW 204, CW 172) and only my husband has said anything about my weight loss. I wear hospital scrubs at work so I think it is harder for coworkers to detect a difference.

  • I use Alton Brown's method for toasting pine nuts - altonbrown.com/how-to-toast-pine-nuts-in-microwave/ 1. Rinse half a cup of pine nuts in cold water 2. Drain, then toss in a teaspoon of salt. That’s right, you’re making a brine. But don’t worry about over-salting as any excess will fall off later, post-roast as it were.…
  • Always check with your veterinarian if you are considering not feeding your cat food developed to meet the dietary need of this species. Cats need a high-protein, moderate fat, very low carb diet with a high-moisture level (think about the makeup of a while mouse or lizard; canned food >>> dry food). Cats are obligate…
  • Awesome! I have lost nearly 25 lbs and I don't think my body has noticeably changed. I can definitely tell that you are smaller! Can you tell us your height as well as your weight when those photos were taken? Thanks!!
  • I've been logging my alcoholic drinks and am able to maintained my desired calorie deficit. What I find is really tasty, with low calories and carbs, is adding 6 oz sparkling water to 4 ounces of wine. I get the sparkling water that is fruit flavored (mango, grapefruit, passion fruit, etc) that has no sugar or artificial…
  • avocado - either on toast, by itself, of baked with an egg in the hole left by the pit.
  • I stopped eating breakfast a couple weeks ago to follow a 14/10 IF. It's been great. I love being able to have a decent lunch and then have plenty of calories remaining to use for a great dinner, including a beer or glass of wine ;) . I had stalled in my weight loss and this help get me back losing again. As others have…
  • You need something like this:
  • I'm MiMi and I am a scale-o-holic. I weigh myself any chance I get. However, I am only doing it because I'm curious about the effect my clothes, beverage, meal, shoes, 45-min walk in the Texas heat, etc have on my weight. I do not obsess over the expected fluctuations. I only record my early morning weight on Mondays.
  • I workout at home. Alarm is set for 4 am and I'm done and in the shower by 4:45am (Focus T25 DVDs).
  • Weeknights - about 6 hours, if I'm lucky. However, I will get 10-11 hours on the weekends and will not turn down any opportunity for a nap.
  • 52 yrs old, 5'6", 187 lbs. I averaged 15,000 steps and 2800 calories burned daily on my last weekly progress report from Fitbit. I've been getting 5000 steps before leaving for work ;) Most weekdays, I get up at 4am and do a 25 min T25 Alpha workout and then get breakfast/lunch/backpacks ready for 3 kids and we're out the…
  • You should also try arugula tossed with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  • I exercise/run in the early morning. I haven't eaten anything since dinner the evening before and don't eat until lunch. I find this helps me maintain my calorie deficit and I'm losing weight (Intermittent fasting; 14 hr fasting/10 hr eating window). Like others have said here and in other threads, it doesn't matter when…
  • Congratulations!! I'm about 14 lbs down in the past 7 weeks and cannot wait to say I've lost 20+. Good work!
  • I will mash the avocado and place in a small container with the pit in the center. I take plastic wrap (I like Press N Seal) and cover it directly on top, leaving no air bubbles, then put the container lid on. It's very important keep that pit and reduce contact with air. As far as seasoning, I may add a little salt, but…
  • Chicken fajitas with corn tortillas is what I have been ordering. I top it with lots of salsa and the onions/peppers that comes with the grilled chicken. I avoid the cheese and sour cream, but will have a small serving of guacamole. For the tempting chips and salsa bowl - I take one chip and break it in to several pieces…
  • cico = calories in, calories out tdee = total daily energy expenditure https://tdeecalculator.net/
  • I agree that it is the scale. I have a digital scale that will display a different weight if I step on it 3 times in 3 minutes. I'm using it as a 'trend monitor' and not an accurate reflection of my current weight at any moment in time.
  • I have been doing a 14/10 IF and I like the EAS - AdvantEDGE LiveLean+Toned Milk Chocolate shakes after a 14 hour fast (around noon). Only 100 calories. I also eat a handful of nuts or some Greek yogurt (~ 150 calories) with the shake and I am satisfied for about 6 hours. I then have a great dinner, nice 3 mile walk with…
