Who is guilty of weighing themselves throughout the day?????

I weigh myself 4 or 5 times a week, but only first thing in the morning before breakfast. It's useless to weigh myself at any other time because I'll also be weighing whatever I've had to eat and drink that day.2

once a month to amend my calories and re-work my macros.1
-
Not I, not until someone invents shoes that constantly weigh the wearer and updates mfp 10,000 times a second.1
-
Not me. Bodyfat doesn't change more than a few ounces per day, so i don't see the point.0
-
I can say I have been guilty of weighing myself several times a day0

I'm MiMi and I am a scale-o-holic. I weigh myself any chance I get. However, I am only doing it because I'm curious about the effect my clothes, beverage, meal, shoes, 45-min walk in the Texas heat, etc have on my weight. I do not obsess over the expected fluctuations. I only record my early morning weight on Mondays.1

I can usually keep it to an only somewhat mad level of once per day, but I have been known to weigh myself before bed, in order to anticipate what my morning weigh will look like.......but let's be honest, it is really unnecessary and likely counter productive. Shall we cut it out and weight once a week? We'll do it together.2

before and after poop for maximum science8

Lol lol I love it!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who falls victim to the scale once in while, for monitoring purposes lol lol0

Nope. I use libra so I weigh pretty much every day, but not multiple times per day.0
-
once a day, after my workout and before I shower.0
-
Only a few times 2 years ago just to see my fluctuations throughout the day. I weight first thing every morning. There is no value to multiple weighings during the day and can be detrimental to your motivation.0
-
Not anymore, but while I was losing? Sure. I learned a ton.0
-
Nope. Don't see the point of it.0

I'll do it out of curiosity, precisely because I know that weight fluctuates and it interests me. Weighing before and after a workout can give you a really clear picture of how much you lose through sweat etc.
I found that by randomly weighing myself throughout the day, I grew more educated about fluctuations, and stopped worrying when my weight was doing something which didn't seem logical.0 -

This.
It fascinates me what affects it.
I know that I weigh more after a backshift, even if I slept the same amount of time as a regular night.once a day, after my workout and before I shower.
I have weighed before and after shower. Sometimes I weigh less after which has perplexed me.Only a few times 2 years ago just to see my fluctuations throughout the day. @lorrpb Not necessarily. A lot of people weigh before and after exercising to understand sweat rate. Understanding your sweat rate can help you plan nutrition/hydration for longer distance races.0 -
Nope. Once a day, first thing in the morning, naked and after going to the bathroom. My wifi scale sends it to Trendweight for logging and that's it. I don't step on the scale again until the next morning because I know the rest of the day will be an up/down rollercoaster of fluctuations which are completely irrelevant and not even worth looking at.0

Of course. I thought it was fairly cleAr I was referring to random weighing throughout the day.0 -
Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has been guilty of weighing in more then once a day, it has helped me to gain a lot of knowledge in regards to what a normal flactuation is for me!!0

Only while I'm cutting.0

First thing in the morning. But if I feel puffy that day, I will weigh again and it usually reflects a small loss. But I only log once a day, the first weight of the morning.0

I go through periods where I weigh myself every morning.
Im glad I have done because Ive just checked my graph over the year (August-August) and theres a total weight loss of 14lbs.
In my mind, I hadnt lost anything because I look/feel the same and Ive jumped off the wagon on several occasions (there was a period where I stopped eating properly/logging or counting calories) but after seeing the graph, my motivation levels have shot through the roof!
14lbs isnt much weight loss over a year but when you have had a huge period where you just didnt care, ate what you wanted and stopped exercising, then it's a wonder!0 -
I did it yesterday just to see how much the scales went up throughout the day. I usually only weigh myself once a month because fluctuations annoyed me0

Only on rare occasions when I want to make sure I am hydrating adequately on my long rides.
I weigh myself every morning.
If I go on a long ride, occasionally I will weigh myself after. If I am the same weight, my hydration has been good. If I've dropped weight ... not so good.0 -
I weigh every Friday morning, first thing. Though my interest now is not the number on the scale, but on dropping my body fat percentage and adding some muscle. So the scale will soon not be an accurate gauge of my progress. It will be more my measurements and how my clothes are fitting.0

I don't see the purpose in weighing the food and drink I have eaten as the day progresses which is what weighing yourself throughout the day amounts to.2 -
who even has a scale near them all day1

Not really. Weighing food helps you manage calorie intake. There is no direct relationship between food weight and calories--between different foods. 100g of potato chips has a lot more cals than 100g of celery. Eating 1 lb of food doesn't mean you'll gain a pound of fat.0
