Time restricted eating. At 6 pm, I cut myself off. My eating window is noon until 6. It's forced me to put more thought into planning and prepping nutrient-rich meals. It's helped me cut out snacking after dark and going to bed on a full stomach.

@crysgabriela your diary is open! :) Mine is also open and plant based. I am getting back in the swing of logging after gaining about 10 lbs back.

@estherdragonbat Thank you very much. It addressed my question completely. The site was interesting and I'll add it to my bookmark list!

@devash1762 & @estherdragonbat I hope you don't mind my crashing in on your post, but I have a lay-person question about kosher food. I'm really not sure how to ask it so please forgive any intentional disrespectfulness. I'm vegan and I've been reading some frightening things about how some companies process white sugar.…

I use my blender every day and my instant pot imitation 3x a week. The best thing for my weight loss I did was to learn how to correctly use knives and how to sharpen them.

The China Study (presented in book form by T Collin Campbell) is still the most comprehensive study (number of people and length of time). I recommend you research that.

I'm so happy being whole food plant based-zero animal products. 'nuff said.

yep, I'm on the broth or a bit of water for saute too. Lemon or lime juice makes a nice flavor too. And pastry paper in the oven (even in loaf pans). Why waste calories on yucky oil when there's no nutrition involved? It doesn't take long for taste buds to change and then things just taste greasy.

Hope you don't mind if I ask... why would you want 30% protein?

Good luck to everyone!

Nice Healthy Brunch. Nothing tastes as good as Healthy feels.

Tony Robbins wrote a good deal about the Health and Fitness mindset. two very good talks are called "The Body You Desire" (actually an audio book) and "Living Health". He asserts that maintenance isn't possible and weight loss is harder without a change of thinking--I totally agree. I looked and both are on youtube in…

Soy, Cashew or Almond yogurt--make it the same way as cow milk yogurt or it's in well-stocked stores to try first. Fewer Cals, Less Fat, fewer carbs, more protein, more calcium, more Vit. D3 and Omega 3's. I think it's yummier too. I got bored with my smoothie one day and added Maple Extract (a couple drops!), blended well…

Thanks for posting this. I have taken a two-week break after losing a bunch and upped my cals by about 400 per day. I gained a pound but lost a pants size. For me the vaca was appropriate and now I know more. I'll take a good look for the problems mentioned.

I'm very glad to see another RD extending their education to Vegan Lifestyles. We need more people like you in the world @NomadicaFit

Yes, cow's milk is really that bad...unless you're a calf. It's bad for human health. It's bad for the cows that gave the milk. It's bad for the environment. It's that bad.

Go vegan, or at least vegetarian and shop in a store with bulk bins. try to avoid processed and/or prepared food. If you live in a high-income area (where some colleges are) try shopping in a different neighborhood. If Farmer's Markets are an option take advantage of it. $4.43 a day is quite easy where I live if I stay out…

I wish they'd tax processed food, all meat and dairy. It would fund Medicare/aid from sales of the things that cause most of the sickness. If the Big Packaged Food Corporations, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, The Sugar Association, The Egg Board, Dairy Business Association and all the rest want to act like the…

congrats all you awesome herbivores! You made a great decision for your health, for your mind, for your spirit. I've been whole foods, planted based vegan for about 4 months and love the way I feel. Add me to your list if you like and we can share food diaries and ideas for making it work.

I love them all... but The Producers, West Side Story and Rent come to mind as favs.

good job Kiddo!

Bump! It's hard to find people who talk the talk and walk the walk by showing their diary!

Music helps me keep my Stride and Rhythm--So I put an earbud in one ear and get going!

I have 7 more pounds to lose to total 50 and I buy myself an ipad.

One good thing that came out of this discussion was finding the Forum of Scientific Society Leaders on Genetically Engineered Crops: Experiences and Prospects that took place in DC December of 2016. There are about 6 hours of video from presentations from the Forum that may or may not convince me if GMOs are safe or not.…

I'm in WA too and the weather has sucked! There are lots of fun free videos on youtube. If I'm bored of one, I just find another. I'm liking The Fitness Marshall and RefitREV channels right now. They are tough-like Just Dance on steroids and I have to modify the moves sometimes. But they are oh so much fun and I laugh…

Prince was the first one to mind. ;) Bruno Mars, Dirty Vegas, Black Beatles, Megan Trainor, some classic Clash and Euryhmics Marina Kamen is fun too.

PB&Me Sugar Free Powdered Peanut Butter blended with a banana, nut milk (I like Almond) and 2 cups of Kale. It tastes great... you really only taste the PB and Banana. Kale has a huge amount of protein and so does broccoli.
