  • Please, give yourself a break. U just had a baby. Are you breastfeeding? I started losing weight when the baby was just about weaned (2 feedings/day) and even with that, it was suggested to eat an appropriate amount of calories. This was an odd case where it did help me to increase calories. A fitness coach recommended…
  • I haven’t done a tea detox, but I have done a kitchari detox a few times and it was great! I actually am thinking of doing one again soon. I recommends doing one seasonally and I find that it feels natural to do it at those intervals.…
  • I’m not sure if this is considered recomp, but I had lost my pregnancy weight and wasn’t really exercising until the end when I got to maintenance. I got into yoga and was “maintaining/gaining” because I stopped logging. So now that I am logging again and still doing yoga, I’m seeing a big difference in my body.
  • After kids, I gained about 20 lbs. I was able to lose it by using MFP, but then gained 15 back. I recently started using it again to get back on track. One thing that really helped me was doing a Kitchari Detox. I feel like it helped me detox off of the sugars and garbage I was eating. If u google it, there’s a ton of info…
  • I’ve been doing larger orders from Nordstrom Rack, and then return anything I don’t love. It’s a really good time to create a wardrobe you are excited to wear. I also love Athleta, they have a lot of “street” wear that is super versatile and comfortable. I have somewhat of a minimalist wardrobe, where I try to pick things…
  • I think it would be worth it to go to some classes along with doing YouTube videos. In class helps since the teacher is hands on and makes corrections.
  • I've been loving Yoga Vine with Donna on YouTube.
  • I actually found some pants I love at tj maxx. The brand in Evolution and Creation. They have a website for full price $25. They are thick, high waisted and not see thru! I actually like these more than lulu!
  • The intensity of the class depends on the teachers and it is as challenging as you want to make it. If it's your first class, you may want to try a beginners class. The open level usually will not have a teacher demonstrating every pose. If you have a local studio, they often give discounted rates for your first month or…
  • I can see how that could be very frustrating. Something that was helpful for me to change my state of mind is making the decision to change the way I eat. It helped for me to feel back in control of what I put in my body... Good luck!
  • I second Zella too! Also, athleta is awesome and has a great sale section.
  • The girl at lululemon told me I was small and needed to go down a size ☺
  • Great job! So inspiring! Question: why did you up calories halfway through? Was this due to working out more?
  • I can see how tough this is when u r stuck in an office with multiple people like this. Definitely not ok. Maybe it's a good opportunity to determine who u will try to become closer to, and who u just need to keep a professional relationship with. For those where it's strictly business, I would keep all private info about…
  • I'll sometimes give in and eat the leftovers, but I don't feel so bad if I give it to the dog or put it in the compost.
  • Is there a way u could support her? It's interesting to me that when one partner loses, the other doesn't follow suit. I started eating better, and my husband eats whatever I make. So h s been losing. I started working out more, and so it's motivated him to get back to the gym. Maybe she needs u to go on walks w her or…
  • As a newer member here, I have gotten some great information from these forums. That being said, the CICO posts overall could be taken as "it's ok for me to eat anything." I didn't understand what macro and micro nutrients were, so it's easy to ignore that part when skimming through. I could see how someone like myself,…
  • I lost a lot in the beginning too. From reading on here, most was water weight. The fat comes off next and will be a slower process. Just keep up what you are doing!
  • 5'6" 143 lbs currently back in my old pants! Size 6 or 28
  • I would find another class. I'm finding it's a little difficult finding a good teacher...
  • I started taking my friend's vinyasa class, and it's awesome! I've always had a weak core and upper body. It's only been a month and I feel so much stronger already! I feel awesome after too, like I just got a massage but got a great work out in!
  • I noticed a difference the first month. I think I lost about the same as you. I went down a size in pants and my parents commented that I looked "half my size." Maybe they were just being nice about it. I try to take pics daily. With that, I've been able to see how clothes are very unflattering when they are too big. This…
  • I started slowly eating better. One thing that has stuck with me is "Whole Foods ARE the ingredients." I try to stick to things that are themselves (if that makes sense) it has just a few ingredients. Once I was able to tackle that, I started logging in mfp to see where I was at calorie wise. I started seeing where I was…
  • I would totally cook them and put them on some spaghetti squash or avocado
  • I've been hitting Costco weekly since eating better. I've realized part of my strategy is to stock up on produce and eat it all before it goes bad!
  • I feel like there was a generic listing in mfp for "Chinese food plate" or something for like 800-900 cals. I just logged it as that. Seemed to be about right!
  • I weigh daily too. My overall trend is my weight won't budge while I'm pmsing, then once my period starts, it will drop. It is nice to see the trends of a daily weigh in, but it can get discouraging not seeing the numbers move after a few weeks.
  • I weight right when I wake up. Usually with Jammies on. I did a weigh in with and without them one day. It was like 1.4lbs for heavy sweats, a tank and long sleeve shirt. I kinda adjust from there on paper, unless it ends up being a new low. If that's the case, I will strip down and weigh again.
  • Hi! I have a 13 mo old and she's still nursing a couple times a day. I'm going to add both of you!
  • I'm sure u look great in one! I tried switching to a tankini and it looks worse than a regular 2 piece. I was wearing one 3 mo after having a baby 160lbs+ 5'6". It's not about looking perfect, but feeling comfortable
