Yeah, getting real old this Clouflare 'verify you're human' deal. Thought it was my browser glitching but if others are seeing it. So what if I wasn't human - can't I track my calories too? Thought MFP was free for 'all'!

Log it but reset the calorie burn to zero (then at least you can look back at what workouts you did).

I'm 32.5" waist as of last week but, like I said, jeans are slacking off. (I hold onto fat in my rear 'pouches' for some reason!) For the record - I'm an info geek so I know that normally I'd have to lose 2lbs+of bodyweight to lose half an inch off waistline. So far in a month I've still only lost 1lb and I reckon it will…
-
I second that emotion :-)
-
Ok. I'm 10 years older and 3 inches shorter so you must have a good muscle base - just covered with a bit of 'padding' :-) I've just spent about a year 'marking time' with weights doing 3-4 times a week (strength and hypertrophy type workouts). Macros were same as yours (protein was 50% at one point). Try as I might I…
-
Remind us of your height and age please Dave. Also, what's your macro percentages? (I'm same weight as you - 49 - bit of fluff on waist which I'm losing slowly)
-
It mentioned weighing and logging - which OP was not prepared to do.
-
Not sure this is 100% correct. I ran it through the UK (NHS) BMI calculator and the upper weight for a guy with those measurements is roughly 170lbs. FWIW - I'm half an inch shorter but weigh 168lbs, have a fair bit of muscle but STILL have a bit of belly fat. My maintenance is approx 1950-2000 a day (I weigh and log…

Apologies Pudding - I thought that was your intention when you sent them. He He. Wow though - you make a comment on a board and get accused of: 'snobbery, being a troll, a ridiculous zealot, in need of therapy, the list goes on... However, I did preface one of my first comments with, "I'll probably get burnt for this" so…

I followed the link and the first 3 items literally gave me an embolism :-)

HEATHEN, burn her!!!!! :-)

I didn't want to get into an argument, but I do feel that everyone should be quiet and accept that I'm right. Repeat after me: "The world, nay the Galaxy, would be a far better place to live without those particular cookies".
-
Now who's being sarcastic! :-) All I said was that those particular cookies shouldn't be labelled as 'food'. I believe we should all take a breath, move on, and accept that I'm right. There, that's better. I can eat vast amounts of any crap if i want to - or not, choice is mine. I just would never choose to eat something…

Thanks for this, AnnPT77 - absolutely spot on! Non emotional, just hard facts. Awesome list of ingredients there followed by Nutrition Facts. They just don't lie. I can't wait to feed them yummy cookies to my toddler, and pack them into the older kids lunch boxes!
-
Thanks for all the detail guys - seriously, this does seem to be a subject that divides people. I will always be in the camp that prefers 'food' so maybe we'll have to have a beer instead and discuss the England V Norway football match. Just my observation - and I'm not being facetious (again) - by the looks of it, most…

The problem with overeating is over consumption OF things 'masquerading as food' FIFY Hey, it's polarising, nothing wrong with a bit of zealotry! Paperpudding - you are not 'the norm' though are you? If this 'crap' is in the food aisle, then people naturally assume that they are nutritional items. If they weren't there,…
-
Sorry Lemurcat, Was talking about those shocking manufactured cookies from previous page that set everybody off. Opinion seemed to be that they were gross so I asked the question, in essence, "Why do we make crap like this?". *If you make your own cookies, and therefore know what's in them, all power to you. Nothing to do…

I understand the WOO 'system' so can the phantom woo-er please explain what part of what i'm saying is 'pseudoscience/snake oil/fad diet' etc. so I can alter my viewpoint if necessary.
-
Ha ha - I've never been accused of snobbery before :-) I wouldn't know if they're to my taste as I don't even need to try them to know that they're just crap. This is my point - can't we go back to making edible food again? Why do we have to keep titillating the taste buds with more and more manufactured goop? Because -…

Go Woo yourself! :#
-
I'll get burnt for this I'm sure but I really don't see the point in making crap like this for human consumption. Don't we have enough 'proper' food - and crap - already? Just seems a waste of raw materials, packaging, shipping, labelling, buying and eventually excreting. (Similar to those cheap 99p plastic toys that break…

Food noun any 'nutritious' substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth. So NOT food :-)
-
Enter Cardio and it's there under 'Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)' - about same burn as a walk though, sadly.
-
I thought they said 'crabs'. Crabs are bad, mm-kay.
-
Just NOPE. Drink a cuppa by all means but eating less than you burn is sadly the only way. Read some of the stickies though and follow the conversations on the boards/forums - you'll learn a lot about how to actually lose weight, and keep it off. Best of luck
-
Wow - you have a LONG hallway...! :-) I work in an office so have to actually go out for 'a walk' or else I only get about 3-4,000 steps a day, tops. It gets easier.
-
I'm 49, 5'10, 173lbs and maintain on 1950 cals per day. (I weigh and log everything and have 2.5 years of data) Currently losing a bit of 'fluff' so lifting regularly and keeping my protein intake high (it often hits 200g a day). Not seeing any appreciable loss of strength (other than bench press plateaud) or muscle size…

"Wu'-Stu'-Shu" :-)

...Pernod..... I'll leave that there.
