  • The message he is giving is that if you can't do those things, you'll be able to do them with his training. @KatieJane83 if you did them it was because you're in very good shape. @Orphia Lovely post of your marathon, the pics and the history are inspiring, congratulations! I ran a HM distance past week but sadly I didn't…
  • I completed the week, only snacked the first day but this monday is ending so 7 days already, I didn't had strictly 2 meals, sometimes I spread my food into 3 or 4 meals but never succumbed to cravings or ate when I wasn't hungry, except a dinner when I overate. Snacking is not the problem for me, the problem is…
  • I'll eat clean this week so I'm too. I won't snack besides my planned 2 daily meals unless is a healthy food that won't interfere my calorie deficit.
  • @sarahthes Congrats! it's very satisfying to have an unpexected new PR. @fitoverfortymom Luckyly is a week before the race, you should take those days easy and it doesn't impact your performance as Moby as Vicent have pointed, only a well rested body can achieve its full potential. For your runs before the training you…
  • Similarly, I set my MFP goal at maintenance excluding intentional exercise, and get my deficit from exercise. (My goal is to lose half a pound a week, so it doesn't take that much exercise.) [/quote] Yeah, if we are talking about MFP base calories per day I set mine to "100% sedentary" (or whatever is closest to that) and…
  • Holydays in Acapulco, running next to the sea is awesome but I got sick  Nothing serious to keep me from running tho. :)
  • The amount of messages ITT is massive, is this the most active thread on the forums? Almost 1/4 of my goal. :)
  • Hi all, I'm in for 200kms. Happy running!
  • I had vacations this month and I walked a lot but didn't found time to run in the two weeks I was traveling so sadly I didn't completed the challenge. Anyway I had some achievements I'm proud like a PR of 5kms at 15km/h and 31kms (3 hours run) my max distance. 162.5kms out of 200. I'll compensate them in my next month
  • Tomorrow Is the 20% of the 80/20 and I've a new playlist to listen so most likely a new PR. :) It's a hot summer here in north America, don't forget to hydrate.
  • Happy running everyone! I'm going for 200 kms
  • I'm the last one to the party. Congratulations to everyone who make it, I'm going to check the last pages and give you awesomes :P @PastorVincent thanks I got a garmin with chest strap, I've some questions but I'm going to ask in the July thread. I'm afraid I may still need to learn to run at more slower pace, not…
  • Finally 50k from my goal, with no rest days. I'd probably have one at the end. I've a question about fitness trackers like polar or garmin, the devices with wrist based Heart Rate are accurate? there are other models with heart monitors more accurate?
  • @Elise4270 Thanks for the advice indeed I needed better hydration, I've ran same distances at night and nothing happened. @MrsKGrady Congratulations! I ran 22k the past thursday but I feel I'm keeping behind in my goal.
  • Talking about this yesterdad I did a 15k - 9 miles under 29° C or 84° F and even though I took water before and after, when I got home after resting a little my blood pressure lowered I felt dizzy, I trowed out the water and amost fainted but I was fine after resting, could it be effect of dehydratation, an electrolite…
  • I broke a pr yesterday 5k in under 22 min. I could've gone faster but before the 5k I ran 8k with and average speed of 12 km/h and later another 4k, so 17k, 10.5 miles total. I feel like I'll run halfmarathons each two or three days and get the 5k under 18 min at the end of the year. :)
  • @HouseOwlet @mnkyd41 Welcome! these are great goals for the start, I hope you enjoy the runs as much as us. @mirelaavdich wow congratulations! I had to run outside the past two days, running late at night in Mexico City is scary, a lot of creepy guys comming from nowhere, luckily I've always ran for recreation and not for…
  • If you're within your limit you won't gain weight not mattering if you have a high fat diet, people on keto diet are a very good example of this. Saturated fats can be dangerous and increase risk of heart disease but if your nutrition is in check you don't have to worry.
  • I think you're refering to nutrition when talking about "type of calories". But in terms of energy balance, considering that the calories are just units equivalent to the amount of energy of foods, to gain/loss weight doesn't matter where they come, to be healthy it matters though. You'll loss weight eating HFSC at a…
  • @RespectTheKitty take the good advice that tells you don't worry about the race, if you enjoy running you'll be back in the track and you'll have other chances, hope your back heal soon. @AmbitiousRooster If you're starting look into 80/20 running and maybe some training plan for the race, good luck!…
  • Starting the month and this thread has 5 pages already. Godspeed to all June runners.
  • Congratulations everyone who completed the challenge! I wasn't aware the month ended yesterday, time flies. And since I haven't updated the past 10 days I had to check every excercise entry in mfp to update my tracker. I ran 141 miles/ 227 km or a little more than that but I don't remember with accuracy. I wasn't sure I…
  • I read a comment here who said something like: if it's legal it doesn't works, if it's illegal it will harm you. There's also appetite suppressants. But they're not magical, you've to eat at a deficit and keep your energy balance after losing weight wich is hard for someone who hasn't learned to regulate his nutrition and…
  • I always hydrate before and have some money to buy it after, for larger distances more than 5 miles or so I prefer to hydrate during the run or even make a stop and buy it. You need to know your type of foot and stride, generally specialized stores offer a test to know them. See if you can test them for a few days to be…
  • @MobyCarp @WhatMeRunning @ctlaws44 @Stoshew71 your post were very insightful any novice runner like me can learn a lot from you thanks! @NikolaosKey also, thanks, I only knew about recovery runs I ran at 8.5 mph in the less deteriorated threadmill my gym has. I was happy keeping the pace but the machine couldn't reach the…
  • From this research about meal timming meal frecuency doesn't have any special effect in metabolism The conclusion is that "it appears from the existing (albeit limited) body of research that increased meal frequency may not play a significant role in weight loss/gain when under-reporting, restrained eating, and exercise…
  • Yeah, don't worry OP, the energy balance (calories) is what matters to lose weight, the macros just are the proportions of how your calories are being ingested.
  • If I recall correctly the research about nutrient absortion and meal timing has shown that neither fasting or frecuency has an effect in the metabolism and absortion. He critizices a lot one aspect while ignoring all the aspects of the obesity epidemic. He is right in that high suggary and processed grains in the cereals…
  • Those outdoor running pics of Mobycarp, and WhatMeRunning experience are amazing, It made me want to quit the gym. @NikolaosKey Hi, what's a regeneration run? Ran 30k in the past 4 days. Not bad but I need rest wich is hard for how much I love running. :D
  • I think Matt Stone talked somewhere about his diet before competitive eating, is almost a day fast of just few fruits and protein powder.
