• I agree. When I look at my overall fitness goal it's overwhelming sometimes but something I was taught when doing long hikes with a 40+ lb pack was not to think about the finish, just focus on the next step, then the next step after that. Before you know it you are there. Keep it up and don't get discouraged.
• That's awesome! I'm going to run my first 5k in May. I have wanted to run one forever but just never have. Sounds like you are to a great start.
• As malinu927 said for BK I go a whopper Jr no cheese no mayo and maybe a small fry with water or diet coke once in a while. Mcdonalds I got the grilled chicken sandwich with a small fry. Who can eat a burger with no fries? Lol. Almost anything subway is pretty good. Wendy's I normally get the grilled chicken sandwich or a…
• First off you can never give up. If you had given up you wouldn't be posting on here. There's no way to know your whole story from one post but I can tell you are frustrated and at a loss. Weight loss can be overwhelming but at its basic it's not that bad. Try to take it slow and take small steps towards your goal rather…
• I run every day but also try to lift at least three times a week. I love lifting weights but feel like I accomplish more by running. It is an adjustment doing both but I like the change of pace.
• You have to love yourself first. It sounds easy and for some it might be but it's true. I found myself a couple years or so ago hating what I looked like and not knowing where or how to start. It was frustrating to say the least. But I started looking at how to start getting in shape and decided to start. I have my ups and…
• Welcome back! I have fallen off before but the important part is always starting again. Find your motivation and take small steps day by day. Weight loss doesn't happen overnight, although how sweet would that be, so consistency is key. Keep it up!
• I keep motivated because I want to be the best version of myself I can be. I tend to do a lot for everyone else all the time and working out and eating right is the one thing I can do for me. There are days I just can't stand the thought of running a couple miles or lifting weights but when I look at my end goal I always…
• Great time to start!
• I clearly confused losing weight and seeing more defined muscle for building lean muscle. Just goes to show you not to believe everything you look up on the Internet and you can always learn more. Thanks for the info guys.
•
Though if you were losing weight you were definitely not building any substantial muscle, it was more than likely increased definition leading to the appearance of greater muscle mass.
That could be. I never thought about definition making it look like more muscle but actually just losing weight. Thanks…
• I will have to see if I can find the link. It was a couple years ago but if I can find it I will post it. It seemed to help me but can be different for anyone. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with weight loss also but before I did my stretching routines I would keep increasing the size of my legs while I was losing weight.…
• I did some research a while back and found mostly that if you want to build muscle and not bulk up you need to stretch the area you worked out. Mainly legs. I started stretching after my runs and legs days and noticed that I'm still losing over all size in my thighs but building more muscle too. I normally sit on the floor…
• I'm a guy so I don't have experience getting in shape after having a baby (thank God) lol. But for my core and abs I like to plank, of course sit ups, jump boxes, and burpees. I'm sure there's more but that's my main go to core exercises.
• Everyone has bad or off days. It's going to happen and you can't dwell on it. Just recognise it and try harder the next day to do better. Beating yourself up doesn't give you more motivation, it just makes feel like giving up. You have to have the mind set that you really want it and no matter what, even off days, won't…

• Feel free to add me. Always happy to help.
• I'm proud of you for taking care of your dad, and I know how much work it is taking care of a parent after a surgery so I can't imagine how hard it is day in and day out for you. But that doesn't change the fact that if you truly want to lose weight, like others have said, you have to commit. That doesn't mean starve…
• It can be over whelming at first but once you get started it isn't to bad. For myself right now I try to watch my calories mainly to lose a little weight while I build some more muscle. Instant Oatmeal is my go to breakfast, sometimes I add some turkey sausage to it for some protine. For lunch I normally have a sandwich…
• Skullcandy phones are awesome, but if you decide to spend more I would go with beats wireless that either wrap around your ear or a headset type. I have a set that wrap around my ear and have a cord behind your neck with a volume control and they are amazing. But they are a lot more expensive than skullcandy.
• Having dogs is the main reason I get up so early. Every morning. Lol. But I have to get my workout in, train my dog, and get ready for work. So I get up at 5:45am, feed the dogs, change, go on a run with my malinois, eat breakfast, walk dogs and spend some time training my dog, get ready for work and be there by 8 am. Then…
• It's a hard thing to get motivated when you have to do most of it by yourself. I rarely go to the gym or even run with anyone mainly because of my schedule so it is hard to always keep yourself going. Whenever I get down or start to gain some weight back I always hit a point where I tell myself, I am good enough to do it…
• I eat out a lot, mainly because of lack of time at home to cook. But I have learned most of the fast food places in town (small town) have some pretty good choices that won't blow my Cal or carb goals. The trick is to look up their menu before hand on your phone and decide what you want depending on the nutrition info.…
• Feel free to add me. I would be happy to help keep you going.
• I always figure for either men or women, if they like you they should like you because of who you are not just your body. If they don't like you then move on. They probably weren't worth your time anyway. By the way, great work for losing 30lbs and still going. That's awesome!
• My go to fast breakfast is instant lower sugar Quaker oatmeal brown sugar with 1/2 or 1/4 cup of pre cooked turkey sausage crumbles. Sounds weird but is actually really good and with my keurig for the hot water only takes about 5 min to make. Plus if you are in a hurry you can mix it all up in a red solo cup and eat on the…
• Feel free to add me.
• Feel free to add me. I don't always eat the best but stay under my Cal count most of the time, except on cheat days, and get at least one workout in every day.
• New the the mfp app but have always loved fitness. I have gotten away from it a few times but always find my way back. I'm currently trying to build more muscle and lose a little weight while still eating "normal" food. I admit I eat out a lot but I try to be smart about it and I know you can't always cook perfect meals at…
• That's great! You can never do to little. Keep it up.
