  • @drmarctagon I started KETO for the same reason, to control sugar/carb cravings and weight loss. Once at goal and after maintaining for a bit, I hope to transition to LCHF. It’s a balancing act for me on how to regulate my carbs totals, I can easily slip back to old ways and get those darn cravings back and with that…
  • Made this soup, but subbed shredded taco chicken that I already had and wanted to use up and then use chicken broth. It was fabulous!! I can't wait to try it with the ground beef.
  • Please! Where is this cheesecake recipe???? I love cheesecake!
  • Thanks for sharing this, it sounds so delicious. I bought everything I need to make it, well actually I only needed to buy the Rotel. Making it today, but I'm subbing shredded taco chicken because I had some to use up. Can't wait to try it.
  • When I first began my LCHF journey, it took me a good 8 days to get through the withdrawal from sugar and grains. I was pretty miserable. I stuck to eating pretty basic foods meats, LC veggies, eggs, cheese, nuts and HWC for my coffee. I drank a lot of water. In that first week, when I had hunger pains I would first drink…
  • Lots of great progress being made, so inspiring ! I've had my ups and downs over that time. I have discovered alcohol is not my friend, not only have I lost any…
  • I started making iced coffee at home with 1T HWC and 2T SF syrup. It hits the spot for me. I live in an area void of the popular coffee places, so that helps.
  • I had this same concern when I started LCHF /Keto, but my concern was for my hubby. I was all in, but he just can't take that leap. He has cut back on his carbs a great deal but, he has cereal each weekday morning, will eat sub sandwiches while on the road for work, he still eats fruit and has potatoes and other HC veggies…
  • I need to take 2 walks a day typically around 40 - 45 min each to get my steps in, even on my work out days, which is strength classes with weights, I still need to walk 2 times. If I'm doing house or yard work then maybe one walk will get me to my step goal. I do things like park further from the entrance of where ever…
  • @CRZYFTM you look fabulous!! WTG! What an inspiration!
  • Dr Davis's "The Wheat Belly Diet" book is where it all started for me. It is where I first learned about the effects of grains and eating LCHF. It led me to taking control over my own health, losing 60 lbs, getting off any medication I was on and researching and reading all things related to improving my health. I have his…
  • I agree, everyone needs to do their own research, but it isn't easy. It seems that even among the "experts" there is a lot of controversy and disagreement. One researcher will site all the studies and research to back their point of view, only to find out, by another researcher that the results are false, paid for by (or…
  • I 100% agree! It is so nice to have a place to come and discuss our WOE and not feel the eyes glaze over or made to feel we are slowly killing ourselves with our food choices.
  • If I crave for anything it is almost always PB! I fear buying another jar because it's just to tempting for me. Congrats on the loss, I seem to drop when least expected and when I feel I've been real good the scale doesn't budge!!
  • Thanks for letting me know. I've been watching a lot of food related documentaries on Netflix, currently watching "In The Defense Of Food". I am so frustrated, angry, sad at what has happened over the years to our food. It's hard to know who to trust or believe because it all just follows the money and not telling us the…
  • My current motivation is mostly health related although I really really want to get to my goal weight this time. I got close about 2 years ago, gained back some weight, but I'm very determined this time to reach my goal. Since then, my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, we do not have a family history of…
  • Were you letting small bits of sugar or carbs back in, prior to eating pizza, sushi and bread? Because even the smallest amounts seem to trigger cravings in me as well so I need to always keep a close eye on what I'm eating. You are worth the effort, time and trouble to keep at this, don't let a set back derail all you've…
  • Welcome back! Congrats on the great progress you made losing weight. I'm a slow learner I've been where you are, several times, each time I learned something about myself and how I need to live. I have to look at this as a life style change and not a diet or a challenge that will have an ending. Yes I will at some point…
  • @elize7 you have done incredible!! I understand that it can be frustrating when you don't continue to lose when you are putting in the effort. You lost an amazing amount of weight, I am also so proud and happy for you!!!! It may just take you body some time to catch up to all the wonderful changes you have made.
  • It's crazy the reaction our bodies have when we reintroduce grains and sugar after we haven't had it for a length of time. I don't have that issue with almost anything else I go a while not eating and then eat again. Makes you think, that maybe we really don't need them as a part of our diet, like almost every medical…
  • I think different approaches work for each individual. I'm glad you found what works for you!! That's a big acknowledgement, in itself. I'm one of those people that has to be all in. To be honest I can be quite anal about it all, or so I'm told by my family. In the past I have either changed my WOE or exercises, never did…
  • I've mentioned it here and there. I only recently found these boards so I don't have much history here. I mostly refer to my most recent time back at this WOE. I'm a slow learner I guess so it's been several trial and error attempts. I have learned something about myself each time so I look at it as positive!
  • Love this post! I agree with each and every point. I have been following some version of LCHF over the last 4-5 years. It is the WOE I need to live by. Each time I have allowed myself to add more carbs has been a slippery slope to eating binges and weight gain. Number 22 and 23 are so true for me. This WOE, is not about…

We had our daughters 30th bday, 32 wedding anniversary, and Mother's Day to celebrate during our time away. My only real splurge was a…
  • Love cheese!! It is my favorite part of LCHF. I can enjoy it almost to my hearts content. Speaking of cheese, what are some your favorites? My go to cheeses are extra sharp cheddar, Swiss and blue cheese. You will always find these in our fridge, oh and cream cheese. My hubby loves Asiago, its smelly and on the expensive…
  • @sixaround1 your comment cracked me up. If someone asks or is interested I'll explain to some extent, but don't go into too much detail, because I can see their eyes glaze over rather quickly and I get all the typical responses/excuses. I find it exhausting to explain, so I just don't any more. Even with the success I've…
  • That's great!! I never meet my macros but I'm not worried about it. I stay under or at my carb (5% or 17g) but I seldom ever reach the protein or fat amounts. I do get close to my calories in each day though. I'm not sure how I could possibly eat more to meet my protein macro, not so much worried about the fat.
  • @littlecrunchy190 I would have thought the same thing about watching those shows. I love watching the food network and I love those baking competitions as well. But nothing, nada, zero effect or desire is awaken in me to indulge. I can even go as far as make delicious desserts for my family and not even want to lick the…
  • I use pork rinds for all my dipping needs. Just enjoyed guacamole with them yesterday!
