  • SW 4/4/17. 200 4/26/17. 189 5/3/17 188 CW 5/10/17 186 So I looked up what an ideal weight would be for my height (5' 8") and it ranges from 136-164 lbs. I have a medium frame so I think I'll shoot for the middle ground of 150 lbs as my GW. 36 more lbs to go!
  • When I first heard of eliminating grains it was by reading "The Wheat Belly Diet" by Dr William Davis. The book starts out by saying to eliminate wheat and all the evils it possess by the time you finish the book it is so much more. I joined some Wheat Belly FB pages and boy they are by the book hardcore followers. You…

  • Looks delish! I make a very similar a recipe, but I add sautéed mushrooms and have it over steamed broccoli. I actually just made it last week. We used the leftover Alfredo sauce for the sauce sauce on a fathead pizza with chicken, mushrooms, tomato toppings. So good!!
  • I had to get a small pillow for between my knees when I sleep since I've lost weight, it really helps. I may also get those stick, I didn't realize how inexpensive they were.
  • Both good questions! It's the same here, on both counts. I don't use the Keto sticks, I don't think I have bad breath either. I keep carbs under 20g per day, so I would assume I'm in ketosis. I'm also cold all the time now. I'm sure it's partly due to loss of fat. I'm not much help with answers just letting you know I…
  • Oh how frustrating! I totally think a small tantrum is perfectly warranted. When we are doing everything right and that evil lying scale just knocks us off our game, it is so frustrating. And there is never a good reason to explain why!!! Keep working it, keep doing what you know you need to do. We will all be here to…
  • This is my first time where I have worked my diet and exercise at the same time. I had lost weight, joined the gym, slowly reverted back to old habits but kept working out, weight started creeping on, went back to LCHF/Keto, I'm losing again and that is where I am now. My weight loss seems to be moving at the same rate…
  • Start date 4/4/17 SW- 200 CW- 188 GW- ? Im also a 5'8" female, a bit older 52. On MFP I set my GW at 165, but I'm waiting to decide when I get closer. See how that weight looks and feels on me. I'm exercising regularly so I am more ten than I've been in years. I dropped half a pound this week, definitely slowing down with…
  • Usually between 10-20g net.
  • My PB binge didn't seem to mess me up to bad, thankfully. I made it into the new "decade" this week! I'm now at 188.5, making consistent progress in the right direction. I had some notice my weight loss for the first time yesterday, so that was a nice NSV. This is the first time I've been following LCHF and following a…
  • My first time following a variation of a LCHF diet was with "Wheat Belly". Dr Davis, the author of the book, has some suggestions of things to try when people stall http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/2012/10/i-lost-the-wheat-but-didnt-lose-weight-2/. Maybe they would be helpful for you. @Sunny_Bunny_ Wow!! What an inspiration…
  • I would say something like "Thank you for noticing!" It may make them pause for a moment and realize the rudeness that just came out of their mouth. Then follow up with. "I guess that's what happens when you lose weight"
  • Down a pound from last week!! I had a couple of minor slips this week, with the scale moving up and then back down today. I'm trying to move to just weighing weekly but haven't been successful with that yet. SW- 200 (4/4/17) CW- 189 (4/26/17) GW- 165
  • When I got scale obsessed, I had my hubby hide it, I didn't want it forever gone, plus he still wanted to use it. It was torture at first. It's back to it normal location again and I do weight myself daily , but I'm more at ease with the numbers now. I go by how I feel, how clothes fit and I take my measurements every once…
  • I don't often snack, but if I do it things like macadamia nuts(measured portion, because I will over eat them), hard boiled egg, green olives, cheese wrapped with salami or ham. I use pork rinds as chips and have them with guacamole, or any other compliant dip I may make. I saw where you can bake pepperoni slices to use as…
  • Morton's iodized table salt has dextrose on the ingredient list. It doesn't show to add carbs, per 1/4 tsp serving, but why?
  • Yay! An accountability thread!! I've been at this for 3 weeks today, it's a RE-start for me I've done similar variations of LCHF over the last several years, always with great success. It makes me wonder why I ever stray. I have lost 10lbs so far, but what's crazy is I have lost 3" in my waist!!!!! Also 2" in my chest and…
  • I do this too, except I use the pizza sauce as a dip. Totally scratches that pizza itch!! Love this pizza! It's so much like the real thing!
  • Wow a festival that will offer foods we could enjoy without dissecting it first!!! Sadly it's to far away for me to attend, but if you go tell us all about it!! Sounds fun and interesting.
  • This is how I felt, I am coming around to the idea the more I read. May is just a bad month for me to try this, I may start mid month and go into June.
  • Great video! I have watched many videos/ documentaries about our food. It frustrates me, with all the new evidence and science to back up that it is the carbs and grains causing so many of the health issues and not fat, that there still hasn't been much change in what a healthy diet really should look like. Diabetic…
  • I am now starting to pay attention to this. I am very regular and I have never had to much tummy trouble due to vegetables........or so I thought!!!! I am now going to do my own little experiment. I seem to be ok with just a small side of most veggies, but not in larger doses. I'm just having trouble wrapping g my brain…
  • I have been reading through this thread and I find it interesting and intriguing. I'm not sure I'll join just yet, I'm still adapting to LCHF, being only 18 days back at it. I didn't think I was having any issues with veggies/fiber. I have been having a side of veggies with my dinner each day. It varies from green beans,…
  • I went just over 24 hours fasting yesterday but not intentionally. I ate dinner around 5pm Tuesday, Wednesday morning I had a BPC. I brought lunch to work with plans to eat, but I had a very upsetting day with a coworker and I just never ate. I went for a walk right after to blow off steam and pent up energy and then to…
  • Same here I had a bunch removed a while ago before I had gone LCHF, not one has come back and it's been several years now. This is something I didn't connect to my WOE.
  • Start date 4/4/17. This is actually a re-start date, I tried to introduce more carbs to have more balance and what I got was more lbs! SW- 200 CW- 190.5 GW- ? I'm saying 165, but I will reevaluate when I get there. I would actually like to get my weight lower than this but will wait and see.
  • I always felt like I had phlegm draining in my throat, not just in the morning and now that you mentioned it, I don't have that anymore, which could have been allergy related, but it gone now.
  • Some positives changes I've seen: Seasonal allergies disappeared. Walnuts and pecans use to make my throat and deep in my ears itch when I ate them, that no longer is the case. I wasn't able to wear earrings the metal would cause my ears to get infected. I can now wear any cheap pair without a problem. I don't wake up with…
  • One of my daughters, who has always been weight conscious, eats healthy in a MCLF(moderate carb, low fat) sort of way, works out regularly and has kept her great shape and bounced right back after having had a baby, is one of my biggest critic. She thinks any "diet" that excludes an entire food group is just wrong and a…
  • I had my gall bladder removed 12 years ago. I have never had problems with HF while following LCHF. @Sunny_Bunny_ , I would get " phantom attacks" too! I actually thought I made up the term, because others thought I was nuts when I'd mention it and had never heard of such a thing. Hahaha!! Way to burst that bubble! LOL!…
