I am Type 2 with a recent A1C of 10.5. The endocrinologist put me Insulin and that has lowered my glucose a lot. For low carb learn to avoid things like pasta, Mac and cheese, bread, potatoes and soda. Starchy and sugary things. Things to eat that are low carb, are meat, chicken, green vegetables. You may have to pay for…

I do low carb. But I am also diabetic. So, foods look pasta, rice, bread, and soda do not digest as easily. I would also note that bodybuilders before a competition limit their carbs. But that's hard to maintain on a long term basis. So honestly if you are looking for the abs, I would cut out the pasta, rice and of course…

Like every one else is saying cheat meal. When I let my cheat meal go into more than 2 days, I get off track and I am eating at McDonalds twice a week.

Change it up. Try low carb. When I tried 150 carbs, I lost 10 lbs in a month. That was a little too fast.

Yup they are immersed in the deep fryer. Nothing but liquefied lard.

Go the grocery store once a week, so you have healthy stuff at home to eat. You may even want to include some indulgences like ice cream, just in smaller portions. That limits going out for Junk food.
-
A pound a week sounds good. Not too fast or you will Yo-Yo back.

Kar's sweet and salty. Healthiest thing in the vending machine.

Fresh Krispy Kreme just melt in your mouth.

Congratulations for sticking with it a month. I just re read where you said you have Lupus, so I am sure there are some days, you are in so much pain and do not want to get out of bed. I suggest, just like smoking, you make it lifestyle change. Like other other people are suggesting 1200 calories may be too low. I am…

Make sure you go to the grocery store at least once a week. If you have food at home, you will go on that late night McDonalds run a lot less. Who is telling you "relax you deserve it"? Tell them you are going for a walk. Want to come with?

Let me clear it up. If you are diabetic, They will tell you to stay away from pasta, bread and fruit or at least cut down because they are high in carbs and diabetics are not processing those correctly. But just start using the database on here and logging your foods and you will see the calorie count.

Thanks for all the replies. I have one I am retiring to just weightlifting or other muddy wear. The other newer pair should last me a year. If I get serious about a marathon, I will make sure I buy a new pair to run in.

Is it for health reasons or you do not believe in eating animals? Just curious about motivation. I am not but, I am trying to eat more vegetables. I love the steamers from Green Giant or BirdEye. They are quick and easy. Just add pepper and a little butter to broccoli or spinach.

Most of us feel like we have to clean our plate. Hard to change that thinking.

Cheese grits! I have also purchased some Jimmy Dean Delights potato bowls that are good. They were a little bland, like they needed hot sauce or salsa. There sandwiches are good too, although high in sodium, except for the spinach cheese one. I did not like the spinach though, just my personal thing. Just take a look at…

I like the small 4 oz containers fo Haagen Dazs for control, even if I eat 2, its better than the whole pint. Ben n Jerry's Pint Slices are good too.

Nice. Is it Christmas already?

Also if your take away is from a major chain, MFP will have nutrient information. So that makes logging easy.

I rand across the same thing. It tracks cardio well, but weights not so well.
-
check out bodybuilding.com for their excercise database. If you look at biceps, it will have 6 different excersize from freeweights to cables. they also have routines, but I found that hard to use because I had to tailor it my gym and time constraints.

Just explain your diet and your goals. People undersand vegans and vegetarians, they have to understand less sugar. And Diabetes runs in your family, so you are trying to eat healthier now.
-
I agree. It is a lifestyle change. I need to drink less soda and eventually give it up.
