Goal #1: Return to tracking meals and exercise. Goal #2: Make at least one meal a day plant-based. Goal #3: Add one day of strength training per week.

The last few months of 2023, I have been all over the place. So my first goal in 2024 is to regain some focus. I had been attempting to be more plant-based but I let myself overthink and make it complicated and naturally, I have returned to not good for me eating habits. The holiday season was just another reason to eat…

How many 5% Challenges have you done? Not sure. I started on Spark People and transistioned to MFP. I've been taking a break for the last couple of rounds. What do you like to do for fun? All forms of embroidery (counted cross-stitch, hardanger, etc), garden, read, spend time with friends, family. What major city do you…

@Dianedoessmiles1 Thanks for trying to help me out, but I don't mind contributing veggies, as long as they get eaten by someone other than me! I see you got your snow. Are you outside rolling around in it?

Ceri, Sending you hugs and prayers and asking for flights of angels to surround you at this time.

@katiecondy1 I've settled on Parmesan Crusted Baby Carrots and Kale Slaw as my contributions. I may even eat the Kale Slaw as it is made with one of those salad mixes they have now that is chopped kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli, etc. Those I can eat if chopped small and raw. I like carrots raw, but not cooked, so I'll…

No snow here, just cold. The overnight temps have been in the low 20's. Thankful for my furnace! I have a cut/color hair appointment this morning and then it is time to start the gift wrapping. Tomorrow is church in the AM and then a Christmas choral concert in the evening. Now I need to figure out what I am contributing…

Rain and cold here. I don't mind since I did not have to go out and we need the rain. I hope the mountains are getting lots of snow. Three more work days and then I'm off until Jan. 6th. It's going to be busy because of course everyone is trying to get everything that they put off done at the last minute. All my Christmas…

A quick check-in for me today. I decorated the 3 foot tree I put up and am contemplating whether or not to put up the big tree. Living room got a good cleaning in the process but any more decorating will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm off to see an immersive Van Gogh exhibit. Not sure what all that means, but am driving…

Rainy day here is So. Cal. Glad to see it, we need the rain. I hope it's dumping a good load of snow in the mountains too. I have a day off from work tomorrow and hope to finish the remainder of the Christmas shopping, get some packages into the mail and maybe even put some ornaments on the naked tree in my living room.…

Hello all! I have a day off from work. Going to work on organizing myself for what I need to get done between now and Christmas. First up will be finishing off gifts that need to be mailed. Nearly done with those. My employer announced that they are giving us all extra days off for the holiday, so I will be off from the…

@CSEGUIN2 Trigger reminds me of a story. I lived in neighborhood near some people who had 2 or 3 rottweilers. They lived on the edge of the development and their house backed up to where the school bus let the kids off. One day as I was turning into the development, the bus had just left and the rotties heads and paws…

Several asked about the recipe I used for Split Pea Soup. Here it is: 1 package dry split peas 2 quarts water (add as it cooks down) 2 medium onions browned 1 lb ground beef browned 1 carrot - grated Cook the peas for 4 hours (or so) in the water over low heat, then add the onions, ground beef, and carrots. Simmer for…

@CSEGUIN2 Your fur baby looks like a sweetie! @TEXASTITCHER Hope you are feeling better soon. @NovemberGail You always find such funny things to post! You and @Walla_walla keep us laughing! Hope stitch removal goes well. I made split pea soup tonight. It was yummy. It's the only way you can get me to eat peas and is my…

Hello 5% Challengers! Church this AM and then did my outside decorating. Made a grocery list while eating lunch, so I'm off to the store in a few minutes. Grocery shopping is one of my least favorite activities, but it needs to be done. @Dianedoessmiles1 I think I said it was quiet, not boring. Not to worry though, there…

Quiet day here. Cleaned the baths, mopped and ran the vacuum. Packaged up the turkey my brother fried for me and got most of it in the freezer for eating later. Overnight temps here have been dropping into the low 30's and getting into the low 70's during the day. Hope all had a good Thanksgiving.

I made cranberry sauce from the recipe on the bag. My brother insisted since that's how mom did it.

Sorry ladies! I posted this morning and then did my work from home thing and then I went out to do some shopping, so did not know I'd left you hanging! Invisible Apple Cake is one in which you slice the apples super thin (I bought a mandoline for slicing) and add it to a custardy mix. My recipe has it baked in a cheesecake…

Hello 5% challengers. Only two work days for me this week. I'm making the cranberry sauce and an invisible apple cake for the dinner that will be at my brother's house. Hope everyone is having a good day.
