  • Hang on, earlier on someone said 1500... Give the guy a chance! Someone posted a link earlier to a calculator that seemed pretty good (http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm). Also search throught the forums and look for TDEE and BMR. I wasn't aware of the TDEE stuff until about a month ago and…
  • When I got to 115Kg, then I had no choice... Oh, hang on, this thread was for girls wasn't it
  • Yep, definitely this. I was doing what MFP told me and my weight loss had stopped. I upped it to within the BMR and TDEE range and am having protein shakes to get my protein levels up and it has started coming down again. Someone far more knowledgable will be along to explain better I am sure... TDEE Calculator here…
  • Don't worry about it, it happens. If you let it get you too down then it'll just lead to it happening again and then you will be in a spiral. You did it, it's done and like everyone says just move on. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for one or two slips, that way lies despair, and there is no need. Also, it may be that…
  • I can vouch for this from experience that my weight loss had stalled but I've increased my intake and it has started to go down again. It seems to defy logic which is why I had an issue with trying it before, but it does seem to work. Thanks for the post.
  • Do a google on C25K (Couch to 5 K), I followed that last year (with some modifications that suited me) and I am now doing 10k regularly. Start off nice and easy, make sure you stretch and don't push it too hard. I got carried away and managed to get a groin strain, so just take it careful to begin with.
  • Are you familiar with the saying "you can attract more bees with honey than vinegar"?
  • Last August I was on holiday in a forest cabin and thought it'd be nice to go for a run. I managed about 2 minutes and almost passed out. That combined with my kids taking the mick out of me for being fat. I was also not allowed to go on a climbing wall because I was above the weight limit. Combine that with health issues…

  • Mine is this, not been through the whole thread yet so not sure if anyone else has said he same but... I mean, they go to the gym to do a workout, to burn calories but for a reason that I have been unable to fathom, they…
  • Can I just check something. Is this funnier for us Brits as I believe pants has a different meaning for us?

  • Well, ditto on the religious thing but it is a goal. I'm giving up bread unless it is part of a meal. So, if I am having a sandwic then fine but I have trouble walking pass a loaf of bread in the kitchen without having some toast with marmite or something. If I can break that habit then I think it'll help me loads. Good…

  • Hang on a sec... Well, your body fat has reduced. It is a %. For example: If you were 100lbs and were 22% then that is 22Lbs of fat in your body. If you are now 80Lbs and are 22% then that is 17.6lbs of fat in your body. So in that example 4.4lbs of fat has gone. It is only a problem if the fat % has gone up. I think I've…
  • How much water do you drink? If you are dehydrated at all then the meter will read you as having a higher body fat %. So I am told anyway.
  • I've discovered recently as a result of forgetting my headphone one day that I run a hell of a lot better without music... Go figure... So maybe my answer would be 4′33″ on repeat :)
  • Slightly related but reading this and another similar post I am somewhat confused and maybe someone can explain. I spend my day sat on my backside at a desk using a computer. So, from looking at the options on the site I have chosen my activity level as "Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk…

  • When I started trying to shift the weight I am carrying I concentrated on Cardio, running and swimming. The weight started to come off but I soon realised that it wasn't going to carry on unless I did some weights as well. I am now doing weights 3 days a week with a bit of cardio and a long run or swim on the days I am not…
