  • I used to drink cokes, not a lot but one or two a day. I’m highly opposed to kids drinking soda though and my ex was letting my 6 year old drink them during his visitation. Then my son started begging me for one every time he saw me with one... so I switched to flavored sparkling water, and honestly, it made me feel better…
  • I understand. I regularly eat sugar candy (like sour patch kids, etc.). I try to limit myself, I know it’s bad, but I crave it and give in far too often. especially because I am eating healthier meals in general and can’t be tooooo restrictive. I wonder about it just like you are now
  • I’m just mad that two good beers is equal to an entire meal’s worth of calories for me! I miss the days of being oblivious to that
  • Good luck!
  • I googled “lowest calorie Taco Bell” today. The results were a Fresca chicken taco supreme... I ordered it with full sour cream and cheese
  • I would agree with others that you’re not going to gain muscle... but I wanted to point out that as you lose body fat your muscle tone will be more obvious, more defined with less fat covering it. I saw you plan to focus on muscles mass, but if I were you I would try to lean down and lose overall fat first, and then bulk…
  • Successhere - I’ve been falling into the same trap as you. Weight loss is not going the way I want it to, so I start thinking “screw it, I should just start smoking again because it’s such a good appetite suppressant for me and I’ll drop the weight sooo easy”. And then I remind myself of how I smelled all the time, how I…
  • I heard about a plan that involves carb cycling, have you ever heard of tried that? I was interested in trying it but need to get back to my healthier eating habits before I try any restrictive plans.
  • Me. I hate weighing myself!
  • I’m 5’0” right now around 124 lbs. quit smoking March 2nd and had a surgery May 10th, but I’m trying to get back down to my normal range 110 - 115. I track my intake with MFP and try not to eat back calories from exercise. It’s just frustrating to go through all the effort and not see ANY results.
  • I like this thread! I personally have found over many years, that regardless if I eat “breakfast” or not, I’m still really hungry at 10:30 am. Like clockwork. I wake up daily at 5 am and sometimes eat a bowl of cereal, or something more substantial with my kids... but I’ve found that I’m still hungry at 10:30 when I do…
  • I just wanted to point out that in MFP you can turn off the addition of calories for the steps you take. I like to keep a steady baseline goal for myself and burning extra calories to be a bonus toward my progress. So I went into settings and turned off the adjustment for steps. You can still see your steps but it just…
  • That is awesome! Congrats! I’ve been a smoker since I was in my teens, and now as a 34 year old single mom have found the motivation to quit for good! I’m close to the 3 month mark and struggling a little bit, but I know that normal and I’m focusing on health to get me through it!
  • Thanks, all. It’s good to hear other perspectives on this. I think I’m going to keep it for a little while longer because I am prone to eating candy and it’s been good motivation NOT to eat any.
  • Hi Amy, I’m a working single mom and also have a hard time finding the time/energy to squeeze in a workout. One thing that has been helpful to me is to the free workout videos that they have on YouTube now. I’ve just done some 10 minute ones and really felt the burn!
