Squash is the answer to your potassium needs. 200g each night with dinner.

I’ll be 50 in ten months. I’m active on MFP daily. I lost 45lbs and have kept it off for three years. I’m in maintenance and workout 5 days/week. Feel free to friend me. I’m a bit of a motivator.

Reading this thread and having lost 45lbs and kept it off for three years, I think people should know, you can have the snickers. You can have the cake. You can eat the ice cream. Life is short. It’s meant to be spent enjoying. Food can be social enjoyment. The first year and a half I was like most people on this thread. I…

So many ways to skin this cat. A cup of coffee with moderate coffee mate creamer for the sweet tooth is 110 calories (no extra sugar added) It’s all carbs. If you can do one cup instead of two, you can have it daily, as sweet as you like it. Work it into your total daily calorie plan. I’ve changed a lot of things in my…

Did u build a good plan? Do u you Have meals and snacks planned? If you aren’t a the point of weighing your food, you should at least make a plan ( 3 meals / 2 snacks per day). Then get an idea on calories per meal that ladder you to your calorie goals.

For those just let starting the journey, some advice. Make sure you’ve got the mind set right. Many people believe they “should get in shape”, they “should eat healthier”, they “should exercise more”. But the reality is until your “should” becomes a “must”, you’ll likely yo-yo and be disappointed with yourself. You’ll have…

Don’t be too hard on yourself. That’s impressive to say the least, even with the few mishaps. Bottom line is you know how to get it done. Good luck in your journey and congrats for what you’ve already accomplished!

Congrats! Be proud! Amazing work!

I had a trainer who was ademate about no more than 9M steps per day when on the bulk. And definitely no running. He wanted my HR to only get to “fat burn” status. He was concerned that if you get HR too high, you’ll be working against your bulk goals which is to build muscle.

This is amazing. Do NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP if you are just short of your goal. It’s a lifestyle change that has no ending. Don’t get me wrong, goals keep you focused, but your progress is amazing. So what if you miss your goal by a few days or weeks. YOU ARE CRUSHING IT! Congrats on changing the trajectory of your health!

Such awesome progress! You got this!
-
You are going to crush it! Nice and steady. Good for u!!
-
Such an awesome transformation! Congrats! The work and discipline to do what you did! Amazing!

Good luck with all of the doctors, scientists and nutritionists giving you advice on this thread! Agree. Eat good quality food. Know your TDEE and only target ~300 to ~500 calories less per day. When you eat too little, you actually slow your metabolism.

Thanks Kevin! I would say the feeling is mutual. You’ve been just as motivating to me! Anyone needs help with motivation, hit me up.

You look awesome! Adding calories back is fun!

I see those quads beginning to pop!

Lots of advice on here. I don’t think it’s all accurate. You shouldn’t eat whatever you want. Nutrition is more of a science than what people think. And when you eat (timing) can be important as well. You should definitely know what kind of body type you have. There’s only three. If your into building muscle, you’ll need…

I lift six days (Sun-Fri): Day 1 (Legs/Abs) Day 2 (Chest/Triceps) Day 3 (Back/Biceps) Day 4 (Shoulders/Abs) Day 5 (Chest/Triceps) Day 6 (Back/Biceps) Day 7 (Rest) I don’t work more than two body parts a day and since Sunday is only Legs, I’m getting two full days of all other body rest. My workout length of time is about…

You should really look at your nutrition plan hard. To get rid of a dad bod takes disciplined nutrition and cardio. The weights can tone you up, especially if you’re in a surplus. I’ve been in your shoes. My starting point was further south than yours. Raising TDEE and getting the right macro’s was when the magic happened…

Haha! Good to know about the Christmas card thing! Keep up the great work!

Funny that I don’t get any negative comments any more. *kitten* got real when I reverse aged a bit 😀.

Go ahead and bet on yourself folks. In 2.5 years, I’ve erased 22 years of mistakes. By next year, I plan on blowing the pic on the left away. It’s you vs you. If I can, you can.
-
I love this! You have summed it all up! It’s always you vs you. And if you get the mind right, the body will follow. But it all takes hard work, consistency and perseverance. GREAT JOB!
-
Awesome journey! Lots of dedication and commitment right there! Congrats!
-

Energy Drinks are so misleading. Many of them now are Zero Calorie, which means they provide the body with zero source of energy nutrients. While the higher than normal caffeine levels may spike alertness for a short while, Energy can only be provided by a calorie. Of which as I stated, the Zero Cal Energy offerings that…

Age is but a number. Don’t let it be a mental excuse. Your body doesn’t fail on you...you fail on it. In all honesty, you can have the body/physique and health you want in your forties, if you can build the mental fortitude and make the consistent commitment. #48isthenew28
