Logging honestly is definitely a good idea. It might help you notice some patterns. And notice where calories have been creeping in... (they're stealthy, those little calories!). I wouldn't stress about the odd week where your weight goes up a little bit or stays the same. It's all normal. Bodies are weird like that.…

Same here. I start a month ago with 60lbs to lose. Now just 50lbs! It's totally doable... :)

If you eat the calories MFP gives you after you plug in your stats, you'll lose weight. Without any exercise. Although you might find that as you lose, you feel able to do some low impact exercise, e.g. swimming. You can eat whatever you want as long as it meets your calorie budget. No weird shakes or bars or any food you…

You can do it! And a new hip is a great motivation...

Download a "Couch to 5k" app. It'll guide you through the whole process.

If one big meal works for you, and fits your calorie goals, then it's totally fine. Ultimately the CICO math still works the same way. (BTW most of that 2kg loss is water - but well done nonetheless)

My go-to is popcorn. Hits the spot, without a big calorie hit.

Log everything. Even the little things add up.

*HUG* Ah, that's frustrating. And I understand why it's not straightforward. Maybe it's time for a heart-to-heart with your husband. If you're not happy, then plodding along feeling depressed isn't going to help. There are definitely potential compromises to be made here. Here are a few off the top of my head: 1) Move…

This might sound a bit harsh, but in your case, I don't agree with the "Start Small" advice. I think if you're being honest about your life in your original post, then you need to start BIG. If your job is impacting the rest of your life to the extent that you have no life outside of work, and no time to care for yourself,…

One of my new friends was only logging about 700 calories a day for a few days, which was starting to genuinely worry me. I was on the verge of saying something, when she suddenly upped her calories to c1500. Maybe she was sick? Maybe she was just figuring it out? Who knows? But CONFESSION: I do like to snoop on open…

THIS. IS. AWESOME. <3

Yeah, I'll take that action. I'm off to the Canary Islands for a week in January, so I would definitely like to make sure my hot weather clothes fit! 10lbs should do the trick! B)

I'm in exactly the same boat. 60lbs needs to go! I got started last Saturday, so still early days - but so far, so good! I'll send you a friend request!

Welcome to MFP. What a gorgeous family! Good luck on your weightloss journey!

Hello. Another herbivore here. I describe myself as "mostly vegan", because I am vegan 99% of the time. But my mother can not deal with the "no dairy" concept at all, so when I visit her, I have to temporarily revert to vegetarianism. And when I travel in Europe, vegan options are thin on the ground outside the big cities…
