  • Just found this thread while looking for something else. Been dealing with lack of sleep due to night sweats that woke me up 4-5 times a night. My Dr. suggested that I try a supplement that has Soy Isoflavones + Sage to see if it worked before starting HRT. Dr. said to take it for at least 2 months. The first few weeks…
  • Hi all. I'm still doing it, but 1 day behind because of time zones. I'm really starting to like doing it in the morning. It wakes me up and I feel like I've already accomplished something even before I get to work. I have never been able to do crow! I think half is lacking strength and half is fear that I'll faceplant. I…
  • Couldn't do the breathing exercise in day 8 because of a stuffy nose. How did it feel? Liked day 9 tree pose!
  • I'm still a day behind, but felt like 6 & 7 were a little too fast. I had trouble getting into the positions and she is already on the next one. spiriteagle99, hope you feel better soon!
  • I have to admit that I skipped today. Went skiing and everything is just too tired and sore. Will try to catch up on the weekend!
  • Great! Day 3 done too. Legs are tired today after the warriors. I’m really out of practice but it feels good to get back into it.
  • Great to hear from you all! I just did day 2. The planks were really tough since I haven't done them in a few months! Can't wait to see how I feel tomorrow. What did you think? ggeise14, it took me some extra days last year to finish too. The calendar was just published on her website and it looks like the sessions are a…
  • Hi. Is anyone else starting the 30 day "Move" program? I just did Day 1 and am looking for others to keep me on track. (I'm a day behind because they aren't released by morning time in Europe).
  • Thanks for the feedback everyone. Nice to hear some good stories too. Stay safe!!
  • We stopped keeping ice cream in the house. If I want it, I have to walk about 20 min to a great gelato shop (and back). It's a great treat, but I have to "earn" it. And I'm limited to just one scoop!
  • I'll start by saying I wasn't a chubby kid, but so many of these stories really resonated with me. My entire family was/is overweight or obese. Growing up, I was completely inactive and ate the same bad foods they did. I managed to stay at a healthy weight until I went to college. I felt like it was sort of my destiny to…
  • The OP says processed food isn't food, but isn't butter "processed"? These definitions of what is or isn't "food" seem really arbitrary. Just eat what works for you. If you are feeling great eating this stuff, good for you. If I lose weight AND feel good eating cake, how can you say it's not nourishing?
  • I checked the WHO county obesity statistics (ranked by BMI) and the US is #17 while Austria is #117. Since I’m living abroad in Austria, I’ve been trying think of what is different. I come up with a few things like better public transport and universal health insurance. But I think it’s really more about cultural…
  • Don't forget the moleskin or blister bandages. Even if you've worn the boots before, it can happen and really ruin your walk!
  • You need a "why". Why do you even want to like exercise? You say you don't need to lose weight. What's your motivation? If you do it just because your husband wants you to, or because you think you have to, I don't think you will ever not hate it. I love hiking too, so I use that as my "why" for jogging which I don't like…
  • I've done this a few times: Show up late for the birthday cake gatherings, and usually there is nothing left to eat. I have a coffee, so at least I seem social and don't miss out on the conversation.
  • Living in Austria, but near the Italian border. Local food is a lot of pork and noodles, with seasonal veg & fruits. Good stuff, but I mostly try to cook my own food. Some "foreign" ingredients are really hard to find like fresh coriander, jalapeno peppers, ghee, etc.
  • Feel free to add me - not doing keto, but trying to stick to an exercise plan.
  • I wear one for a few weeks after each hair cut when the layers aren't quite long enough to fit into my ponytail. I used to have the same problem with them slipping around, but I found one (at a grocery store!) that has a gummy rubber strip inside which holds it in place pretty well.
  • Dressing for a Xmas party tonight and pulled out a skirt from the back of the closet that I haven't even tried on for a while because it was too tight to zip. The dry cleaning tag on it was from March 2017! It fits again! Every time I want to cheat tonight I will just look down and remember why I'm doing this...
  • Wow. That sounds interesting! Thx!
  • I put pickles or jalapenos in my sandwiches, and olives or grated Parmesan on my salads. Makes them feel like a "cheat", but not really many calories added.
  • Hi all. Star Wars, LoTR, GoT, Walking Dead and some Harry Potter too! Just finished Man in the High Castle and Sens8, so I'm looking for something new to watch. Any recommendations?
  • Thanks for the ideas!
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! I'm living in Austria now and they don't sell them here. When I visit the US they are my first meal.
  • Same here! I spent some time looking up the calories in all the things that I think they will be serving at the parties like cookies, gluhwein, appetizers... I hope it helps me make better decisions. Will let you know if it works, but feel free to add me as a friend.
  • Could use a few more for inspiration and accountability.
  • Since you mentioned wine... How about trying to "earn" the calories for wine (and in my case chocolate)? If I don't exercise, I don't get a treat. It's my motivation, and I go straight to the gym before I go home so I don't have a choice to change my mind.
  • I'm pretty new too. The first week I just ate "normally" and logged my food. It gave me a good idea of how many calories I was regularly consuming so that I could make a realistic target. It also helped me get in the habit of logging which I still find a bit hard. One other thing I checked was the nutrition info and found…
  • You seem very smart to make changes like this at your age. Good habits when you are younger make for a healthier lifestyle as you age! You got this. Feel free to add me.
