With the run up to Christmas I’m finding it really difficult to stay on track. I went on holiday a few weeks ago and since then I haven’t been able to control my eating, and now with work do’s and a busy social life I’m putting on the pounds.
Looking for some advice on healthy eating throughout Christmas, and on losing weight.

Hey there, the run-up to Christmas is challenging for everybody. Hang in there! One thing to do might simply be to scale back your sense of what you can realistically accomplish this month. Maybe you pick ONE thing you can work on and have be a win. If you aren't already doing so, consider committing to always tracking your food, including best estimates from those social events. You may then find yourself updating your eating choices, but it's a win each day if you do the logging for that day.2

Same here! I spent some time looking up the calories in all the things that I think they will be serving at the parties like cookies, gluhwein, appetizers... I hope it helps me make better decisions. Will let you know if it works, but feel free to add me as a friend.0

Unless the event is a sit-down dinner, I will eat beforehand and not eat anything while I’m there or just snack on some veggies. I avoid alcohol and just have water - even when joining my friends for drinks, I can still enjoy everyone’s company without having alcohol. Basically, I focus on the social aspect of the event and do my best to avoid the food. Sometimes someone will make a comment that I haven’t had anything but 99% of the time no one notices or cares.0

Trying to control the portions is a start. Place your fingertips together and form an imaginary ball. Think of that as your stomach. Only eat what would fit in that ball at a meal. Listen to your body. If you aren't hungry, don't eat. When you are satisfied, stop eating. Nothing wrong with telling people you had a big breakfast/lunch and can't eat any more.
Avoid alcohol when possible, too many cals and slows fat burning.
If you must have dessert, have a small slice.
On the days you aren't eating with family, colleagues or friends, stick to the diet you are on.
Any gifts of chocolate or snacks, you can put aside for cheat days after the holidays.
Once the holidays are over you can be back on track fully.1
