Have a look at what you're eating, rather than the calories. You may have some bloating issues rather than a weight issue. Some meals may meet calorie goal, so if you're having a soft drink or alcohol, that can contribute to bloating, and if you're using processed meals, yet keeping within calorie limit, the sugar and salt…

Watch out for the scales doing the auto-turn off! some scales have an auto turn off after a minute or two, so make sure you have everything out as needed before you weigh, so if you forget anything you're not rushing to get it before it turns off.

I recall reading a PT said he told his clients to add an extra 200 calories a day during the lead up to period because period hunger is a real thing, and by giving yourself permission to do a little extra doing that week was better than going on a binge, and I agree. By doing this, though that week of weight loss will be…

I have PCOS, and found intermittent fasting was super good for my borderline diabetes levels. It also helped regulate my cycle as well from 40 days to 28 days (gradual shortening of cycles) and now it’s very regular. I’d approach your dr or a dietician about initial steps to ensure the right food program for you.

Yes! I’m doing the 16:8 right now. I stop eating around 6-7pm and I’ve been slowing pushing eating towards 12pm. Some days it works others it doesn’t but still some form of 16 or 18 hour fasts. :)

anxiety and mental state. I was doing really well for a couple of years where I was able not to reach for food as a stress reliever, but then COVID came along and messed that one up real bad. So I am back on to try undo all that damage.

MFP SW; 89kg (2018) SW = 81kg (Sept) GW – 78.5kg (end sept) UGW = 65kg. Good morning everyone! I stepped on the scales and lost a 100g! lol I consider that a win. 5th Sept: 82kg 6th Sept: 81.3kg 7th Sept: 81.2kg The 82kg (180) was when I accepted I was just really offing things up. I've redownloaded Happy Scales to give me…

I have done fasting before and I find it handy as it’s a calorie deficit strategy. I find it works the best if you’re doing 18 hour fast with a 6hr window, dinner should be slightly early, like 5-6pm and not eat again until 9-10am. It’s open to variability but the key thing is not to overeat. You will find it tough…

Hi all! Back here after 2 years hiatus. Lowest I got to was 69kgs. COVID happened and I struggled badly. I was 75kg back at start of year and fell pregnant but had a miscarriage which I ate so much food and it’s taken time to get out of this mental state. Back here bc I do -not- want to buy size up outfits! I love being a…

@tvsloan9438 I hear you! I've done the FS route, and #2 was a result of one cycle! We'd been trying for 4.5 years. Under going any FS treatment is hard, so I relate completely. I've really found delaying my breakfast to 10-11am and having that instead of a snack helpful. My morning consists of just 2 flat white coffee and…

yes. I often hit a 'new low' and then bounce back up and down for a couple weeks before hitting a new lower low. my average loss is 1.5kgs a month. might be low for some, but it's the best plan for me. I've hit 12kgs loss over 8 months. I think it's important to remember also, you may not be one of those people who just…

I can relate, I didn't realise how much weight I was carrying on the hips until It was gone, and my hips feel sooo much nicer.

You know the kicker here? I was a bit bloated when I got my wedding rings. I waited 4 years after birth of DD to drop the ring size conceding it was too big and it was unlikely I’d resize it anytime soon. But then I dropped 11kgs, now need a resize but I’ll wait until I’ve hit goal weight and maintained it for a good year…

I found, I’m not sure I’d call it intermittent fasting, but it’s the basically what it’s known as, I found delaying my eating window on weekends a huge help. It gave me better control over calories. If I know it’s going to be a big weekend I can either skip breakfast until 12ish or delay until 10am and close of eating and…

I've had to resize my ring. and I'm going to have to resize it again! I've already dropped two ring sizes, going to need to drop one more!

yes you can, I have lost 11kg with a glass of white/red with dinner. however, I have a standard glass, measured out etc. followed with water. Like PPs said, it's all about the total calories you have at the end of the day. as for treats, sure I have them, just not every night. Not unless I plan all my other meals calories…

I agree. It was really jarring. Hardly made sense.

I looked him up. He’s a obesity researcher at University of Sydney. It’s a high end uni. He technicallyis a dr he does have a PHD. Doesn’t mean he’s credible though.

The article seemed to have cut out half Of what he meant to say. I feel like he had More to say but they shortenes it for the article. He does have a point that CICO can become tireseome. We have seen threads on these forums where people have said I’m sick of counting calories. I think there’s the huge issue of we have so…

I’m 76 kgs (167 ) and my fat percentage is 38%. So.. you’re doing better than me where fat % is involved. :) You’ve taken the first hard step. But those results would be brutal to hear first time! MFP is typically about calories. I’d get a program set up based on what you input into MFP and then I’d meal plan for the next…

Congrats on the weight loss!! My trick, was to eat normal breakfast at hotel. Rather than buffet. I had a bowl of cereal and milk. If I was wanting a buffet I made sure lunch was smaller to compensate and dinner was moderate. Or Sometimes if I knew where I was going/planning on a big lunch, I skipped breakfast. I carried…
