Do you plan to do more direct work or are those two enough to make it stronger?
-
Well if you do cleans and jerks and exercise like those with a lot more than double your weight on the bar you’ll develop a thicker core but I’d still recommend those exercises because it takes very heavy weight and a lot of consistency in order to get it to become thick
-
What’s a boxy core?
-
Y’all are doing some solid work

I’m a homebody so quarantine has been nothing but good, it slowed life down so much that I finally got some rest and got my mental state in check, starting to improve my health and my body too now Quarantine has been a blessing in disguise

2 days ago I barely did 3 minutes of jump rope cuz of the back pain and the whole 3 minutes were just bad, yesterday I did 6 minutes and it was similar pain to what I felt 2 days ago but today I did 9 minutes and the first 3 minutes were hard and I thought I’d stop after another 3 minutes but I went 6 minutes after that…
-
Just did it again felt much better
-
Oh trust me I know I’m careful cuz if I get pain that’s unbearable I’ll just stop jumping for a bit but I guess I’ll know how it feels in about 15 minutes cuz it’s time to workout
-
Jump rope didn’t cause it, it’s from years ago but yeah jump rope brought a tiny bit of the pain back
-
I honestly don’t know but what I do know is that 2000 calories is low for a person your size, progress happens over a large period of time and not over a small period of time.
-
Yeah I’m trying to add in 2 rehab days a week and today I’ll jump rope again to see how it feels

The real champ Max Holloway

As bad as it is rn it’s nowhere near how bad it was before, the only time that I felt little bit of pain was when I was lying down but anything i did was super painful and If I somehow recovered from that then there’s no question in my mind that I can recover from this unless I make it worse lol hopefully I don’t.…
-
Yeah I can’t quit jump rope cuz of some back pain 😂
-
Yeah I’ll definitely ease my way back into it cuz I’m no trying to go through that again
-
Well the doctor gave me some exercises to do while it was at its worst so I don’t think I’ll hear anything new but I’ve started doing the lower back rehab exercises so hopefully they get strong enough and the pain goes away completely again
-
I fast almost everyday, it helps me to maintain my weight and not overeat like a madman lol
-
Yeah a lot of variables go into it but this is temporary until I get a scale and I’ll weigh myself once a week and yes I’m feeling good 👍

True

Appreciate the response man but I’d like to think i don’t have those problems, the reason it may come off like that is because I don’t know how much can I lose in set time and some people may know so I was asking. I just like to push my body as much as possible as long as it’s safe and measuring seemed like a good…

I know it’s just a goal of mine, I used to have goals on the scale but since that’s gone I’m tryna have goals in other ways but it doesn’t matter if I get there in time or not because I don’t know what’s realistic or healthy rn
-
Yeah my main focus is fueling my body right nowadays because I didn’t used to eat much healthy foods
-
If you want to compete in powerlifting then you’ll probably do the running and cycling a lot less but If you just want to get stronger then you can do both. I’ve seen a lot of endurance athletes do both so good luck on your journey
-
Try to do the same work on each leg but if they are still not balanced then it’s alright as long as you are training then the same way
-
Fasting has a bunch of benefits but because of the smaller eating window some people (including myself) struggle to hit their calorie goal, since they are under their calorie goals the deficit will be bigger and the short term fat loss will be greater but it’s not good for the long term because your workout won’t be as…
-
I have the same exact problem, it’s like my body just ignores recovery, my sleep is good and my diet is good besides eating enough protein for my body maybe so I’ll try and increase protein and see if it helps
-
I started doing a no sweets besides my cheat day which is once a week and that’s nice too but it might take you a bit to get used to it
-
I fast almost every single day and when I go weeks without fasting I generally gain weight, consider fasted cardio too but be very hydrated before and during the cardio and I think jump rope is the most affective Cardio alongside high pace running
-
For sure, it’s never too late
-
Can’t believe I quit half way 🤦♂️
