  • I second this! Granted I have always enjoyed exercise anyway, but I started martial arts as an adult and love it. Yes there is going to be an initial “I look silly doing this” but we have all been there at some point before. My class has a family type feel to it (and I am NOT the type to be into that kind of thing) where…
  • Hi, I’m 25, in Tennessee. Feel free to add me :)
  • I don’t get why people are so into steaks. I like them just fine but no more than any other piece of meat
  • I don’t know what SW is, but similar to the above poster. I find it much easier to do the work up front and not worry about it for awhile. Like, I’ll cook a big dish to eat for so many days. Then I know I have x calories per day for dinner or lunch or whatever. I don’t have to do the math for another week. I’ve also stored…
  • Same, I see my veins too when exercising more. Some only during/right after exercise, some stick around all the time when I’m exercising consistently enough. Yes still check with your doctor for concerns but it’s a common thing to see :)
  • Hi, I’m Emily. I’m 25 and live in Tennessee. I’ve also been on MFP awhile but am new to the social aspect. Quarantine boredom mostly, but it’s been nice to see people with similar interests. Feel free to add if you like :)
  • Hi! I come on the threads to see other people with similar goals/interests and keep motivation so I’m dropping in on your thread also :)
  • I google calculators and run several and take a lower than average result (I’d rather underestimate than overestimate). Then input manually. Try to use ones that ask for more details than others. I also found a formula for HIIT specifically somewhere that you can do with your weight, average heart rate during, time spent…
  • I read yesterday after having this issue that if you input exercise it will not count the steps calories. Which doesn’t make any sense because normal walking around is separate from exercise. Can’t say for sure but that’s what I got from google
  • Cottage cheese on a piece of toast, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon. I love that stuff 😬 I also like to cook omelets and then put cottage cheese in the fold. Tried it in oatmeal yesterday and liked that too
  • ^What they said. I workout twice a day almost every day, but I have a desk job. My activity level is “Not very active” and I calculate/log workout calories separate. That will give you a better picture of where you are each day anyway. Congrats on your goal, that’s fantastic. Be proud :)
  • This isn’t helpful at all but, strange overlap. I’ve always been an athlete but for some reason during just one of the workouts I do (that also involves jumping etc) my middle toe on my left foot goes completely numb. It’s even very visibly pale white compared to the rest of my foot. I just ignore it, but it is weird
  • I live outside of Nashville, TN
  • I read a fitness model’s (I don’t remember who) process for pre-shoot once and thought holy crap that’s a lot for some pictures. I mean it all makes sense I guess I just never really thought about it before
  • I feel you on this one. Also always an athlete and skinny. But I have the same bump :)
  • I used to have a scale and now I won’t get one. I go by how I look, rather than a number. I found that seeing a jump up on the scale (even if maybe just water/bloating or whatever) would make me feel bad about myself and be discouraging even though I had no reason to. I also found that even at the weight I wanted to be I…
  • Hi, I’m Emily! I’m 25 and live in Tennessee, USA. I’ve always been pretty athletic but lean. Now I’m attempting to put on a little more muscle. I’m usually just on here to keep an eye on calories, but the COVID boredom has me perusing the community threads now. I was a XC/track runner through school, now I do that more…
  • I always acknowledge that they are bad “cookies,” yet I still love them. I think it’s the texture. I can eat a whole box no problem, so I refuse to buy them for my own sake 😂
  • I do them every day with the on demand subscription. Highly recommend. They have all kinds of different types of programs for what you want, anywhere from 15-55 minutes to fit your schedule. Some use equipment some don’t. I absolutely love their Grit program. Also, I’m a pretty active person (I run and I do Taekwondo most…

  • Hi! HIIT cardio got me my abs. I do les mills grit at home. I also run and do taekwondo, but it was the HIIT that really gave me the nice lines and definition

  • For lunch, chickpea salad (chicken salad except with chickpeas). Not really cooking haha. Tonight, black bean stuffed sweet potatoes! Both are firsts for me, excited to try :)
  • When I was a runner in school I was always just under 6min for 1 mile. Around 6:50/mile for multiple (I seemed to hold this fairly consistently for some reason for any long distance I’ve actually timed). Went a handful of years with only the sporadic run for fun. Picking back up for real I started around 8min/mile. Was…
  • I like being an introvert (INTJ here) and usually prefer to keep to myself anyway, but when it comes to fitness and any physical activities in general I do find myself wishing I had friends who were into the same things! Now I’ve wandered into this thread
