Finally we get there

?? You just said it yourself. She needs to eat more calories so eat another meal? Breakfast brunch call it what you like
-
Sorry but I think you know what you need to do? If you don't eat breakfast and you need 700 more calories then eat breakfast?
-
Would love to be in a position where I am asking for help to meet an upper calorie goal.
-
I really love this. Some solid sound advice here with things that are actionable. I have lost 14lb since 2nd April and I am calorie counting. It helps that I control the food budget and the cooking in my house (obviously i make things that my partner enjoys) but I am able to modify my cooking to adjust to my calorie goal.…

You can always do higher fat with a calorie restriction but it is calories that matter
-
Haha honestly the fc*k wasn't aimed at anyone ;)
-
Thank you! Getting there :)

Sorry you feel that way. It is hard to gage tone etc though so it might be worth bearing that in mind when reading people's responses. All meant with good intent 🙂 Have a nice day.

I am overweight by 60lb technically obese but you know what - *kitten* you. and my first thought was "great I will put on another 40lb" and then I don't know... I started tracking and lost 7lb and then I started upping the anti on the nutrition and lost another 3lb and then I walked 3 miles a day and then 4 miles and then…

Well "Dude", you answered your own question tbh, you are sedetary and you are small. If you want to increase the calories move. I am 5'1 and my maintenance cals are about 2200. You can always start with walking, it is cheap, low impact and apart from some decent footwear you dont really need much to do it. Stick on some…

I am similar. MFP put me on 1460. I have lost 10lb in 2 weeks and have actually ended up eating 1600 cals a day on average. Slowly working out my maximum over time.
-
What i find inspirational is people who struggle to create a calorie deficit think that they can get there body into ketosis...
-
It is actually quite hard for your body to get into ketosis. What is probably happening is that the lower amount of carbs is creating a calorie deficit which is creating a weightloss... and a water loss too.

@quiksylver296 Thanks - I guess that is what I am trying to do really. My nutrition is shocking at the moment. I want to start working towards a diet that supports fat loss, muscle preservation, illhealth prevention etc.
-
Started just getting into the habit of tracking - lost 10lb but now I am looking at implementing a more thought out strategy.
-
Haha, yeah probably a stupid question really.
-
Amazing
-
OK so your maintenance is 1654 cals then? If not, How are you supposed to lose weight AND gain muscle? Surely both are different processes and therefore require different calorie amounts?
-
How are you supposed to lose 2lb of weight but build muscle?
-
Are you sure you are tracking your calories correctly? You said approximately?

Thank you!
