Idk where you are getting your stats but mine read that hospital admissions have pretty much leveled like a plateau.
-
I read that because it infects the bronchial tubes more than lower in the lungs that that’s why it is more infectious.
-
I always wondered about the thing with the swelling 🙌! thanks

@rheddmobile I have a feeling that because the cells are empty of fat then the danger caused from fat cells wouldn’t have any effect. In other words if fat is the problem if it is gone then not a problem.

@Redordeadhead Other than info I have seen in the French news and on an expat forum I enjoy all I know about this is that my neighbors, (a French/German couple) have tried twice to travel back to their house in Germany were turned back at the border both times. Best of luck with your travel. The big problem has been the…

Not over here in Europe. For travel both vaccinated and unvaccinated have to have 24 hour negative test results as of this week in France and Germany. Other countries are even more strictly mandated.
-
This new variant is called Omicron and has 50 mutations making it unlike the original one that the vaccine was modeled on. Stay safe everyone vaccinated or not it is spreading very fast.

I increased my calories per day 100 calories and weight loss stalled for a whole month. It is not fun even though I understand that this is because I am older and have a lot fewer calories than I used to have to eat if I want to maintain a good weight. Thanks to mfp people for sharing their long time experience making it a…

I have to echo the knee pain relief. I also used to suffer a lot of hip pain in the nights. There are still a few days every few months my right knee acts up. My hip joints seem fine now. I sometimes wonder if these improvements are because of a better all around healthy diet or the weight loss, whatever, pain freeness is…

Experience only for what it’s worth. I had shingles twice, once in my 20’s and in my mid 40’s. I’m 71 now. Most of my major stresses have been in my 50’s and 60’s. I kind of feel like stress is something of a factor in shingles, just not the whole cause. I haven’t decided whether to get a vaccination for shingles. Still…

Almost everyone.

I’m in France and we aren’t even organized yet. Germany seems to be doing well though. Contradicting and unclear information here between leaders and the press dailychanges and misinformation is the norm. Pretty much a farce. The 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 have done really well with organizing. As bad as you all think it is at least…

Well, yep, come to think of it prolly went to UK from the US anyhow so why worry about it? 🤷🏼♀️😆 just kidding.
-
Ok so 50, yes that is 50 countries ban travel from the UK, not the US? Unbelievable absolutely unbelievable.
-
I too can’t understand why the US would not block all incoming flights from the UK immediately. Would it ruin a political relationship or something? If eu countries are doing so to slow down Cov19 what can be the problem with the US doing so?
-
The new COVID-19 variant in the UK has caused Denmark Sweden Italy and other European countries to shut down all flights to and from the Uk. In Wales,as reported by the BBC a person catches the new COVID virus every 2.5 minutes. So there will be a harsh lockdown effective immediately. The new variant is far more easy to…

I live in France now, and have lived in Spain Portugal and Italy Europe in general for 13 years. Some people mistakenly like to compare the Eu to the US as if it is the same. There is nothing that is the same governmentally or culturally. We have groups of men now defying the curfew by yelling in the streets during curfew…

With the vaccination distribution priorities in the EU I think Covid 19 disease won’t be enough of a problem for me to bother about by the time I’m in line for it. 😄

I loved this feature on MFP. I can excersize different ways each day or three walks a day and add them so they automatically show calories I have gained for the day. I’m very frustrated and disappointed now that this feature so inconsistently works at all anymore. I hope they get it fixed soon.🙁

I’d move out! 😉

I can really empathize with you. Last spring lockdown here in France the people downstairs had literal Raves with pounding music and them jumping up and down banging on the walls. One person even jumped out the window from the second floor onto the house next door. Parties lasted until 4 or five in the morning And there…

My personal experience is that eating sweet foods, example cookies, candy will curb my fondness for fruit and vegetables. Weirdly enough, I admit it, artificial sweeteners do the same; they leave a strange taste in my mouth and if I drink a Diet Coke before a meal the food seems tasteless to me. I think people differ in…

Ah, well fair enough. Blaming is an easy enough thing to do and now days maybe infectious as Cov19. British tourists take a lot of it, not that they aren’t partly to blame, so much unnecessary travel imo.
-
I struggle to imagine which European country you are speaking of. Travel restrictions have only been re announced in France last week. Wales closed boarders three weeks ago and I believe it was the first to do so this fall after all other countries opened last spring to tourism.
-
No it wasn’t as closed down as that by any means. Additionally people didn’t comply tourism was allowed and now we are in a serious mess.
-
I don’t know your age but I think age also has been known to commonly increase BP over time for pretty much all humans. So if you are over 65 any increase in activity, even walking 30 minutes for 5 days a week and low salt intake plus eating less will usually bring it down. Best wishes.
-
Oh Yes! Thanks for writting about it. I could have been fluent in french and painted enough to start a gallery during the shut down, so nice and quiet it was. It is a 'thing'. I read novels or listened to them being read. Mostly for an escape to another world, a non Covid world for a while.

This one looks just like a tough old bird even though they are called Angels. ;)

Friends of my husband's in Netherlands have the same response. Two of them are sick, they have chalked it up as a 'cold' and are not getting tests. No wonder this pandemic is still spreading. :(
