  • I'm following a no food is off limits eating plan (within reason - meaning for the most part I am eating the healthiest choices I can but occasionally I can have a treat, though in a smaller portion). I am finding that eating less and/or smaller portions is not easy at all for me and it takes great perseverance. I am used…

  • Wow! What an amazing job you have done! You are truly an inspiration! Keep going! You will get to your goal! I just know it!! You are learning to maintain now and that's very important. So tell yourself it's ok to only lose a pound per week, or even less. The main thing is you are still on your way down and getting to be…
  • Diddly, I would join. Congrats Sharon and Fitwithfaith! You are both so inspiring!
  • I am also a former Sparker. It didn't dawn on me to use my old Spark name here so I kept trying to enter new names and everything kept getting rejected (already in use) until I got frustrated and just entered: Goodgollygee and it worked! :)
  • All the recipes sound delish. I will need to read back to see the whole lot. eliezalot: Those Joes sound yummy. I am definitely gonna give them a go!
  • Thanks Pamelaroman. Oh that is wonderful!!! That must feel sooo good!!
  • Connie wrote: "No I have never tried any canned fish except salmon and tuna….I might give the kippers a try….not sure I will be able to swallow them lol…" I am not a fish lover but I like these little herring (thanks for the correction Pav). Maybe it's the sauces they are in, though I really like the smoked ones too. Maybe…
  • Today I was tracking my food and I realized that I've been eating about 500 calories per meal, for some time now and I really am satisfied. To me, this is a victory because in the past, I could easily eat that many calories, or more, per item, in a meal.
  • Why are ya'll playing around with jello and yogurt? Sounds like 2 things that should never meet in the same dish. :) That Philly chicken crock recipe on the other page by callitlikeiseeit sounds yummy. And all the variations too. Connie: Your store sounds like a lot of work but very satisfying. Have you ever tried these…

  • I was a terrible binger for years. I want to think of myself as an ex-binger now, but I really don't know if that is a thing and I always worry that I will start again. All I know is I haven't binged in the past maybe 3+? years. It's not like it happened over night either. Someone mentioned stalking the fridge/pantry with…
  • Hi. I was 312 at Easter and joined MFP early June at 307. I'm at 294 this week and I gotta say it feels so good to be under the 300 mark. I'm 5'4". I never want to see the 300 number on my scale again!! Connie, you are a great inspiration! Keep up the great work!! You are doing it!!
  • Well ... you're both troopers if you ask me. Bella.. give it a day or two. It will come off. 160 km in 6 days? Pav.. the yogurt pudding sounds good too. 11,000+ steps in a hike? In my dreams!!! Inspirational I tell ya! Connie... have the wine!!! Unless there is no sugar in the tea and you want the tea. Then have the tea.…
  • O---M---Goodgollygee!!! Tofu. Chocolate. Pudding. Is to die for!!! I am shocked! It's so decadent! I tweaked the recipe a bit. Put 1 and 1/2 tbsp milk into microwave and bring to boil (took 20 secs in mine). Add 1/2 cup semi-sweet (or dark) chocolate chips and micro til chocolate melts (about 30 secs). Add 12 oz SILKEN…
  • Thanks re info. Pav: It's all a help. Will report back on the home made stuff. According to recipe calculator: 140 calories per 1/2 c serving, 6.6 g fat, 18.6 carb and 5 g protein. To me, not bad for a dessert, can be refrigereated or frozen and is a bit healthier than perhaps ice cream, when the craving hits. I am wary of…
  • PS: Connie. I don't like tofu either but I'm trying to find a way to fool myself into thinking I do.
  • Hahahaha! Pav!! You are right!!! Ok. Connie: the recipe I have for Tofu chocolate pudding contains Tofu. I had a hard time finding "silken" tofu to make the stuff, as the tofu around here seems to be "firm" and they say that will make a grainy pudding. Now who the heck would eat a grainy pudding? Not me!!! So I will use…
  • Hey Connie: "Why make Tofu pudding when you can buy pudding already made?" It's not available where I shop. Plus I just bought an immersion blender with a "turbo" setting on it and I'm dying to give it a whirl! Never heard of chocolate hummus. Sounds interesting. I have made bean brownies before and they were good.
  • Laurie: "lol - not so modest! But how can a person follow that act?! " How can a soul come close to your lovely sounding mural project? I bet you are very talented. I can hardly wait to see the pic!!! . "Goodgollygee you can claim leftovers, but time will tell if we will be moving to your place once we finish freeloading…
  • Pav: "GoodGollyGee you're in danger of being lumped in the overachiever category with Alexandra!" Oh No!!!! Wait??? Is that good???? I can't tell. Nothing new there. Laurie: "He is much better with words so I'll just add a "ditto." Awww. I see. So you are the modest one! Connie: "some days are harder than others". You can…
  • Bella: "Does gin count as one of your five a day since it contains so many botanicals? " I don't know about Gin but I tell ya... that red wine is fullllllll of nutritional value!!! Your lunch looks scrumptious! Laurie: I am careful with the molasses cuz I love the stuff but it is still sugar calories. Still, it's nice to…

  • Tonight I was really hungry and got home late so I wanted something quick and easy (I really wanted take out but I resisted and patted myself mentally on the back on my way in the door). Instead I threw a tbsp of olive oil in a fry pan, chopped up a green pepper, a tomatoe, part of a giant zucchini, maybe a cup and threw…
  • Hi. I have 150 lbs to lose. I am so glad to find this group. I already feel not so alone. Thanks for starting it Novus!
  • You are very inspiring!!! Keep going!! If you feel down.... come to mfp and find stuff to read or send a message to one of your mpf friends or go for a little walk. Full speed ahead!! You're doing great!
  • Hi. I'm 5'4", 307/295/150. One day at a time. Baby steps help me. Any little bit I can do or small healthy change I can make... is a step in the right direction. Today I'm going to make sure I get my water intake. I forget to drink enough water sometimes.
  • Thanks Springlering62. Now I get it. Also...giggling about your step-crochetting. I have an old school pedometer and it seems to ignore my quilting. No bonus steps for me. I was reading the NSV thread before I started this one. Yes!! That's a good one! Something that is helping me to stick to it are my daily affirmations.…
  • Thanks Lorib642. It helps to know I'm not the only one. Springlering62: Thanks! Is there a link so I can check it out!? Today, I plan to do some quilting so I will adjust my eating plan to make up for sitting more. Anyone else a quilter? Or into other crafts? Do you have to change things up on the days you do your arts?
  • Went on holiday. Gained 5 lbs. Right back on track when I came home. Lost 3 lbs in 5 days. In the past, it would take me weeks to get my act together. My mindset is changing for the better and I am proud of myself!!!
