  • To get the rock hard stomach you want, it starts in the kitchen. You need a high protien, lot fat diet. You are going to have to get your body fat down around 10% for you abs to show right. That was when mine showed up. Strength training with weights is key. You more more calories for longer periods of time strength…
  • Heart rate monitors are great for carido days, however on strength days with weights they do not give you an accurate account of calories burned. When you lift weights your body continues to burn calories all day and night, repairing the muscles you just ripped apart, so if your HRM says you lost 400 lifting weights you…
  • You should be adding about 600 calories a day when you do P90X. I know that seems like a lot, but trust me, your body needs it. I recently finished P90X myself, dropping 25lbs, and getting down to 10% body fat. I did this by setting my wieght goal in my fitness pal to the weight I wanted to get to, and adding 600 calories…
  • Sounds like P90X is right up your ally. It's all free weights and will get you in great shape to run your marathons.
  • Beachbody just released a new series called Revabs. Not sure how good it is, but its designed to give you that six pack you wanted. I got my six pack doing P90X, but from what I have read, I don't know if that is what you are really after. Regardless of what workout you go with, you're going to have to eat right to get the…
  • I do P90X yoga about once a week, and also attend hot yoga classes every so often. For me I get challenged way more physically doing P90X Yoga than I do doing hot Yoga. When I do P90X yoga I add about 600 calories to my diet, which seems about right for me.
  • Do the classic workout. It's exactly what you need to build that upper body up. Tony shows you how to modify the moves if you are just starting off. Just go at your pace. Do you best and forget the rest. I couldn't do a single pull up when I started, and by the time I finished the P90X I was doing 85 to 90 on pull up days…
  • Beachbody has a ton of good dvds, P90X, P90X2, Insanity. You name it they got it.
  • I totally agree, morning workouts rock. I have almost the exact same schedule. Up at 5am, in the gym working out by 6:30 or 6:45 for 45 minutes to an hour, recovery drink, shower, and having breakfast in the cafeteria at work by 8:15. I am so totally not a morning person, but once I got into my routine it got a lot easier.…
  • I just completed the full 91 days of P90X classic, and am now on my 2nd week of a P90X/P90X One on One Hybrid. I would recomend going for classic routine over the lean. You'll get more toned and lose more weight. Don't be scared off about lifting weights. Do lower weight and high reps if you don't want to bulk up. I wont…
  • Believe it or not you sound like you are already doing a lot of the things Tony does in P90X. The program oviously works. I dropped 24lbs, and got down to 10% body fat, and put on tons of muscle. I went from having a pot belly to a six pack. P90X will get you in the best shape of your life if you stick with it. It takes…
  • Exactly!
  • Pretty much anything by Tony Horton. I have P90X and the P90X One on One Series Volume one. I also have P90X 2 on the way.
  • If you're a P90X fan, Tony Horton has a great but exercise workout in his One on One series called Bun Shapper. Is a hard core 50 minute workout focusing just on the but area, and it can all be done in your living room. It's a great workout.
  • Like so many have said, take one leg and put it on a chair. Just use your leg just enough so you can get up and down. After a while you'll ditch the chair completely. I use to be in your same boat, not being about to do any, but now I can do them all day (with no chair), or at least until my arms give out.
  • P90X, is great for toning and building muscle.
  • I am a pretty avid snowboarder and constantly have problems with my right patella tendon. I started wearing a patella tendon brace, which goes right below my knee cap. It keeps my knee cap from moving all over the place and It works great.
  • I totally agree with what others have said, getting a six pack starts in the Kitchen with your diet. You are deffinatley going to have to get your body fat down. My abs started popping out when I got down to about 11% to 10% body fat. Since you have done P90X keep doing Ab Ripper X 3 times a week, and eat a really high…
  • Yeah, what a lot of people fail to realise is that when you lift weights and give 100% you burn calories the whole day and night, because your body is repairing all the muscle tissue you just tore apart, so you need the extra food (protien mostly) to rebuild yourself, unlike cardio where you only burn calories while you…
  • P90X is more than just a workout program, it is a lifestyle, and yes it work very very well. You have to do more than just work out, you have to eat right as well. I am not to big on their nutrion plan, and did my own (with help from others, namely my sister who is a trainer) and got fantastic results. I add about 600…
  • In the gym where I workout, they have an area complete with a set of free weights, tv, and a dvd player where you can do workout videos. Me and two other guys do P90X there every morning before work. When its pull up time we just run over to the pull up bars, do them, and then come back. It works out great for us. Plus it…
  • I got into Yoga doing P90X of all things and loved it. So when we had a new Yoga studio open in my home town I went and checked it out. They do hot yoga there. It was pretty good. I found that I had a lot more flexibility and range of movement in the hot room. It's great. You should try it. You'll defiantly burn off a lot…
  • P90X sounds perfect for you. It's great weight training at home. Tony uses all free weights in the program, which are easy to store. Resistance bands work well to, but I prefer the weights.
  • Tony Horton's P90X one on one dvd's are really good. They target specific areas of your body to work on. Tony's really old school in his weighlifting techinques. They work for me.
  • I am in the process now of doing P90X. I am currently on week 9. When I started, I was overweight - technically obiese. Week one was very, very, very hard. I almost gave up, but I got my mind right and pushed through. Plyo-metrics almost killed me the first time I did it. I remember thinking there is no way I can do this,…
  • Tiff, Sorry you got sick. I like your idea of working the doubles in slowly. You probably don't want to go all insane, harecore right out of the box. You body will deffinatley have to get use to "Bringing it" like you always do. Just listen to your body. It'll let you know how hard you can go.
  • I am currently on my phase 2 recovery week of P90X, getting ready to head into phase 3. I add 600 calories a day when I do P90X, except on the X-Strech days. That has work quiet well for me. Like others have said if you really want to dial in what you have burned and get a heart rate monitor. Just remember on strength days…
  • P90X wants you to add about 600 calories a day when you work out, so I add P90X under cardio (600 calories for 1 hour). Using this plan I have dropped 14lbs in 7 weeks. So for me this formula is about right. The only day I don't add the 600 calories is on the X-Stretch day.
  • Had a similar problem when I am on my bike. I cut the sleave off and old short sleave shirt, took my hair and pulled it through the sleave and wore it like a do rag. Worked great for me. Also, a standard do rag works well too.
