  • I've never had it with apples. I have to try that soon. What type of apples? Tart or whatever you have?
  • Sending a friend request. I also like to eat and will never be able to eat 1200 calories a day. I’ve set my goal to 1/2 pound a week. It takes longer but I am happier so it’s worth it to me. It might be something you would like to try too.
  • Loving this!! Thank you everyone!
  • Congratulations! And thanks for the inspiration. I look in the mirror and wonder if my tummy will ever be normal again, now I see that it can.
  • I feel your pain. I was 5 lbs from my goal weight and I got pregnant. While nursing I got back to 10 lbs over goal weight. Life got in the way and next thing you know, I gained more weight. So I’m up 15 lbs or more. I’m sick of logging and measuring and ready to admit defeat but then I have to remind myself why I am doing…
  • bump...I'll read this when I have more time!
  • Welcome back! I'm sure every parent understands that family comes first. I for one am glad to have the support of other busy Mom's again.
  • First, congratulations on looking for help. That is really important to realize that you have a problem and that it can and will be solved. Please try to find help. Most hospitals have group sessions for eating disorders that are free. Call and see what your local hospital can do. Also check with your college, I know my…
  • I agree you have to take one step at a time. Start with 1 meal. For me I start with a healthy lunch. After it becomes a routine, add another meal or a workout. Finally if you have a bad day, or weekend DON”T LOOK BACK! That is the hardest part for me. One bad weekend doesn’t have to turn into a bad month. Think about…
  • So many new things to try. Thanks everyone.
  • Hi Cindy, I'm a 30 something working mom of 2 (6 and 13 months). Welcome to MFP. I'm sending a friend request now. Good luck on your journey.
  • First CONGRATULATIONS on a new healthy baby. I am weaning my now 1 year old right now. I am back at my pre-pregnancy weight. I just bumped up my calories by about 300 for a total of 2000 calories a day but if I was really hungry or really tired I would go over and not think twice about it. All Moms know some days are…
  • It is always a struggle for me too. I don’t know if anyone really has the family/work/social/self balancing act down pact. Even if I find something that works one week it might not work the next.
  • Lol, it's amazing how tasty those little things are.

  • I have tried salads at Chick-fil-a and even McDonalds, but when I log the salad, a drink and a drink refill, I find out that sometimes I would of done better eating a combo for the calories. I would love to know what works for others.
  • Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to start this week lifting heavy weights at low reps. I'll let you know if I have any success.
  • First Congratulations :) I guess I did this differently. I just change my calories to 2000 a day. To be honest, I didn’t log a lot the first few months but I was always hungry. The first few months of breastfeeding I ate more that when I was pregnant and still dropped pounds. Now that my little one is 10 months I am…
  • No. Current recommendation is breast milk (formula) only for the first 6 months. At 6 months you can start introducing cereal and other baby foods and breast milk (formula).
  • If you consumed a lot of caffeine before and now have stopped that will cause headaches. Try to have a cup of coffee at the start of you day. Even if you add sugar or cream, regular coffee will have less calories than a fancy coffee drink or soda. You might want to look at your fiber intake. You can change your setting to…
  • http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ You have got to check out this site. She made a different thing in the crockpot for 365 days. Her daughter cannot eat gluten so she will tell you what gluten free things to use. Not all the items are healthy but it will give you some new ideas.
  • I have to agree with the eggs. Breakfast for dinner is a go to meal for me. Veggie omelets are yummy, filling, easy and cheap. Add some protein and a starch and the whole family is happy. And don't forget homemade soups. So easy and can be made from leftovers. I like to throw left over pot roast with a mixed bag of frozen…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I have performed CPR on someone who did not make. Please do not blame yourself. You did everything you could do and there is no way you could of done anything more. It took me a long tome to realize that. Please do get help for your whole family including your son. Try to remember that your…
  • No real changes for me. This winter weather has been getting the best of me. But my goal is to drop 5 lbs in March. Anyone want to join me?
  • I agree. I only cook one meal. I give the baby the parts of that meal he can eat, and maybe some jar food if it's a meal that is not baby friendly. I do have a steamer/deep fryer that I never use. I'll have to try it out this weekend. How long do you steam your fish?
