  • I was about to recommend arrowroot, but I looked it up and it looks like it's related to cassava. What about almond flour? I personally wouldn't want to use almond or any nut flour because when you think about it, that's a lot of nuts in whatever amount of flour you're using. But I suppose as an occasional treat....
  • I should have been more specific. The source IS grass-fed. Just a cheaper cut. Anyway, I didn't think there would be much of a different between cuts... not in terms of the muscle meat. Just curios if anyone had read anything at some point. I understand about the fat also. This cut is pretty lean though (no marbling), but…

  • Cool! I'll look into the continuous brewer. Sounds easy!

  • Also, I believe the store bought brands are pasteurized, so perhaps not as beneficial.

  • I started my first batch Wednesday. I got my scoby from a friend at work who has started making it. You can buy them online though. These are the websites I used to learn how to do it. I think I am going to write my own blog about it at some point.... after I master it and start experimenting with flavors.…

  • I needed to come back to this thread and find your post just to say THANK YOU! I tried the egg sheet last night to make chicken tacos. A little flimsy and delicate, but they worked great! My husband loved them too! I think this will be a staple in my house from now on. I find tacos to be really easy because all you need is…
  • I, too, struggle to stay on track even though I discovered a couple of years ago that this is better. Why is this???? Let's add each other.
  • Thanks for all the ideas everyone! I can't wait to update my kitchen. I've been wanting to replace my knives. Sounds like the Wusthof knife is the way to go! And i need to get a spirelli!!!
  • We are in the market for a new fridge as well. We are moving and need one. We currently have a side-by-side, and yes.... worst idea ever. I followed your link and this is pretty much what I want too! Can't wait!
  • I was training for triathlons and needed some high carb options. Check out this link for high carb foods: http://balancedbites.com/2011/08/paleo-diet-carbs.html
  • I'm so excited that they emphasized the meat being grass fed and from humanely treated animals.
  • ME!!!
  • Wow! Thanks! I'll have to try this!
  • You are gorgeous! Way to go! I love that last picture.... your outfit is so cute and it looks like a magazine ad!
  • Wow, Tank you! Just the kick-in-the-pants I needed this morning. I am training for an event and have a party this weekend (my favorite party of the year), so I have been going back and forth on whether or not to drink while there.... Thanks for pushing me off the fence!!!
  • I liked Food Inc. It's not geared towards Paleo per se, but I love the emphasis on how horrible the food industry is and how the local farmer is the good guy!!!
  • I've been buying homemade deodorant on Etsy. The ingredients are coconut oil and some other stuff. None of that Aluminum whatever. Also, I have not washed my hair with shampoo since April. I use baking soda as shampoo and vinegar as conditioner. I also stopped washing my body with regular soap and use homemade goats milk…

  • Hmmmm.... let's see.... 1. Oreo's for me too. If I eat one, I'm cashing out the entire bag. It's inevitable, so I just don't even bring them into the house. No, I can't eat them "in moderation". I admit it.... I'm a total loser when it comes to "everything in moderation.... blah, blah, blah". 2. Soda. I love Coke and…
  • I would imagine that you lost some water weight and are not as bloated. It happened to me too, although not as extreme. After just a few days of whole foods and weight lifting, i felt less bloated and had dropped weight. I was surprised. You are looking really good, so keep it up!
  • Soeties when I am feeling slightly hungry, I just eat a tablespoon or two right out of the jar! LOL! It's kinda gross at first, but you get used to it. It makes my hunger go away.
  • I should probably try it just to see how dairy affects me.
  • I am primal, not paleo so I eat diary. I do often feel like I should cut out diary and go full paleo. I have never been big on milk anyway so that part would be easy or me. Greek yogurt, I like, but it wouldn't kill me to stop eating. I LOVE cheese though. Ugh..... Maybe I could just have it once in a blue moon.
  • I read somewhere that when you eat a ton of carbs (bad carbs like bread, etc) your body holds on to a lot of water. So when you switch over, you dump all that water weight. It's awesome because the first week you already feel less bloated and lighter!
  • Yeah, I guess if it fits into my macros with everything else I shouldn't worry. I use frozen berries like ice cream!! So yummy after dinner!
  • I eat bacon. I buy the nitrate free with no sugar. The ingredients are: pork and sea salt. Sounds pretty paleo to me!!! Oh and (pasture raised) eggs???? The more, the merrier!
  • Some of these aren't really vegetables, but here are my favorites: Sweet potato Broccoli Cauliflower (I really only like this when I make mashed cauliflower, otherwise I find it bleh) Kale Collards Avocado Mushrooms Onion Zucchini Kohlrabi Cucumber Okra (unfortunately, I love this battered and fried)
  • It usually ends up as dog treats. I haven't thought of frying it until crisp. That sounds good, so I may try it.

  • Fortunately my neighborhood has zero traffic except for people that live there, so I just pay attention and wear my earbuds. If I venture out further than my neighborhood I just keep one in and leave my right ear free. I also keep the volume down.
  • There's a big difference between selective breeding vs. intentionally swapping out strands of DNA containing genes completely foreign to the species using bacterial vectors. Just FYI.
