  • Red Clover - recommended by my GP, no effect whatsoever Black Cohosh - some initial effect but didn't last I have been using bioidentidal progesterone since the weekend but am not sure how long it takes to notice any effects.
  • Totally stuck here, for 6 months rather than 9. I do like the concept of 'maintenance at the wrong weight'!! I have almost resigned myself to staying as I am. It is difficult to find the motivation to do anything very different because I know those last few pounds won't make me look or feel different. I am trying to…
  • ^^^ This. I have a bad knee so virtually all my exercise is in the pool. I do an aquafit once a week and it is great fun. We are all mature ladies and have a good laugh as well as a good workout.
  • If you want a more radical solution you could emigrate to the UK. Here it is pouring with rain, windy and the temperature is a balmy 50 degrees! Any takers????
  • ^^^^ This. Even if all you do is walk up and down in the pool.
  • Feel free to add me. I am struggling with the last 5lbs.
  • That is fine in theory but it didn't work for me. The instructor was OK but the rest of the people in the class were horrid. I could see them looking down their noses at me, pointing and laughing at my attempts. I didn't get one sinlge friendly word of encouragement from any of them. After the third week of that I just…
  • Of course.....you wouldn't expect anything else!! lol
  • You perving again Jim??? lol
  • Swimming is great but it does help if you have reasonable technique. If you can't get any help from instructors at the pool see what you can find on you tube. Take it at a steady pace to start with as you will soon tire yourself out if your technique is not great.

  • It was only a matter of time before someone said that.......I got fat while swimming and going to the gym every week....it was eating too much not lack of exercise that was my problem. By your logic I shouldn't now log the swimming and other gym work that I still do!

  • It's not there and questions about logging this (and housework in general) provoke very heated responses. I don't iron as a rule (I pay someone else to do it) and I have a very sedentary job. So on the rare occasions I do iron for more than a few minutes I log it as housework/cleaning but only log half the actual time. I'm…

  • Like numerous others have said.....not enough!! Whatever the cause you just learn to live with it because not being able to function is not an option!
  • I have always done that but it no longer works. I can only describe it like this.....bear with me it's a silly analogy but I can't think of a better one. I'm like my hair straighteners....they are plugged in but don't get hot.....the switches are there, the cable is there but the fuse is missing!!
  • Yes it happened to me too after I had my first......still not quite as bad as what happened after I had my second.....I was standing in the school playground with him in a pram about 2 weeks old waiting for my 5 year old to come out and a complete stranger walked up to me and said "Hello, is that your daughter's baby?"…
  • I started with weight lost because actually losing some weight was the goal. When I got past half way I changed it to weight to go because the goal had changed to reaching my target. I hope that makes sense!
  • Yes that's me....I've been stuck for most of this year. My youngest child is 14 so I definitely can't blame the weight on him!! I am 53, 5ft 4 and am currently 150 with a target of 147. I know those 3lbs won't be visible to anyone but me when I look at the scale but I would be so pleased if I could just shift them.
  • I have no idea how to post pics in here but am 53 and have lost 40lbs just by counting calories and exercising a couple of times a week. It goes to show this can be done without spending half your life in a gym!!
  • ^^^ This....however I do understand the frustration of being so close to a goal and not quite getting there.
  • Not at all....I just choose whatever colour I fancy at the time...I have about 20 to choose from. I do my own nails, always have and always will, I won't pay for something I can do at home in half the time!!
  • My kids are older so it is less of an issue. However there is no way on this earth I am going to cook something for the rest of them that I am not going to eat. I just put more of the 'good' stuff on my plate and less of the 'bad'.
  • Like the others have said.....fruit is good for you but if you eat a lot you will rack up the calories. Make sure you log it all and as long as you are under your calorie goal don't worry about the natural sugar it contains. Try replacing some of it with raw veg instead....carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes etc.

  • You're such a star.....helping your friend out like that!! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • I'll send you a friend request. I am here every day and am almost at my goal, although the last three pounds are proving very stubborn. I am also in the UK.
  • False (meaning I haven't been in a fight) Been to a hen party
  • Mine syncs automatically when connected to the internet, I don't know how to do it manually.
  • Hi Sue....I've sent you a friend request....if you track the calories and get a bit of exercise it really does work.
