  • Thank you everybody, I really do appreciate all the support I get here on MFP. Couldn't do this without you folks!
  • After a long conversation with my DM, I have been informed that I have leveled up. Now a 34th level bard!
  • Once per week, every Sunday right after I wake up. Doing it more than this has some bad side effects: 1. Your weight goes up and down all the time throughout the day, so weighing in daily can give you misleading info. 2. Over a week period you are getting a more realistic sign of the progress you are making. It is pushing…
  • That is awesome, I appreciate the inspiration!
  • Seconds on the Flax Seed Oil!
  • Once per week. Every Sunday morning right after I wake up.
  • If you ever come to Texas feel free to call me :)
  • That is a very good idea, I find that when I exercise regularly, my hunger cravings are much less, and my self esteem is much increased, which makes everything easier. Also I wanted to say that I love your profile, I always appreciate a good sense of humor.
  • If it helps you... I was very shy for a long time. I started taking jobs that FORCED me to interact with as many people as possible. I have been a bartender, waiter, deliverer (still am), I even bartended in a strip club (no, I don't recommend it). There is nothing like working for tips to teach you how to talk with people…
  • Hiyya! Just wanted to say I like what you are doing, I appreciate anyone who can work that hard! I find it very motivating. Anyone here can feel free to add me, I don't turn anyone away.
  • Hi Rachel, I'm Brian, I'm 44 and also returned to college recently, It is tough juggling school, work, and workouts! Either way, feel free to add me if you would like.
  • You may not feel the difference is much, but it is a *noticeable* difference, and you should be proud.
  • I have to say that having a cheat day once a week has seemed to help me a lot. I have been eating healthy and working out for about 6 months now, and have not plateaued yet. (keeping my fingers crossed). But , I do not go crazy with it, and just pig out for a whole day. I basically allow myself one or two cheat meals, and…
  • I work in a Pizza store, so I understand the temptation problem.... The way I handle this is through several things... 1. I eat a meal every three hours, this is better for fat loss, and also, it helps you not be so hungry all the time. Most of my meals are around 400 - 500 calories. 2. Eat a very big breakfast. Mine is…
  • Funny, it is the cardio that kills me, especially the circuit 1 cardio (jumping jacks alternating with jump ropes). The strength circuits always seem a bit too easy for me, the only problem I have doing those is that I am usually still catching my breath from the cardio. The abs circuits are relatively easy. I have just…
  • The best advice I can offer is this, when you finish a workout, you have to let yourself know that it was good. The more you tell yourself you look good, the more you will believe it. Good health is probably about 75% mental attitude. Do you feel silly sometimes, sure, but so what, I do my exercises wearing nothing but a…
  • I don't really get nausea, sometimes headaches if I play too long... but what does happen to me, is that if I play an FPS for a really long time, especially one that is fast moving. Later when I go to bed, I can still see the scenery moving past from the game when my eyes are closed, this has lasted hours sometimes.
  • Level 23 Bard, we do a little of everything.
  • I found it helped me to do the eat smaller meals more often method. This helps keep your metabolism up, and hunger cravings down. Currently I eat a small (400-500 calorie) meal every three hours.
  • Man, that is awesome, and inspirational !
  • Well, the truth is, while I do prepare my food ahead, I eat pretty much the same thing every day, so I don't have to give it much thought. The advantage to this is that I have gotten preparing those particular meals down to a science, I can make 4 or 5 meals in about 15 to 20 minutes. Now you might think... No I don't want…
  • If you haven't seen "They Live" it is an absolute must...
  • Thank you for posting this, although I am not as tall as you, your experience very much echoes my own. So I find this very encouraging. I'm going on 6 months now, and learning to control my portion sizes was by far the most important lesson for me as well. I still love those cheeseburgers, but no more sodas, and no more…
  • I don't know about ridiculous, but I loved it when playing the original Duke Nukem, if you walked up to a Duke Nukem pinball machine, and tried to use it, Duke would say "I ain't got time to play with myself".
  • The game I played the longest (2 years in leagues) was the original Team Fortress (the one that was a mod of quake 1). I also love the Total War series, the original Medivel Total War was my favorite. Half-Life 2 is another favorite, ooooooh and Portal!
  • I only work about 40 hours a week (nights), but I also go to college in the daytime, so I understand the difficulty. What I do, is I precook all my meals for the day right after I wake up. I purposely make meals that are easy to eat with one hand, while driving. (I am a pizza deliverer). I eat every three hours, usually…
  • Actually there used to be a really great mod for quake 2 called battle of the sexes, kind of a team fortress style game.
  • I'm considering it, Guild Wars was one of the very few MMO's I enjoyed.
  • Looks like it should be fun, I would like to sign up.
  • I empathize with you completely, I work at a Pizza Hut, I have to fight the temptation of the wings every day.
