  • Wrong. Sugar in fruit is still sucrose - just like cake. It is even very high in fructose, which is a toxin to humans. However, fruit is a *very good* source as far as sugar goes because it comes with fiber to help process the fructose., and tons of essential micronutrients like pectin, potassium, vitamins, etc. It is…
  • nothing! I can't afford a tv and it turns out in 2012 I don't miss it at all. I just download everything. for the olympics I just use a fake ip and stream it off the bbc site. that said, I'm generally watching breaking bad :-)
  • Use it to make nutella based desserts and give it away! Nutella was actually sued at one point because of all the marketing they do promoting it a healthy food (especially for 'active growing kids') when it's just nasty *kitten* modified palm oil and sugar. I feel ya.
  • Balsamic vinegar. :-)
  • Clean diet and regular exercise are usually the first thing prescribed to those with depression, before going on to try more serious things like medication. So, yep! It's all about neurotransmitters and body chemistry.
  • Yeah but those olympic athletes eat 6000-12000 calories a day and consume junk food out of necessity when healthy food just isnt calorie dense enough. I understand your point, though.
  • Really? Might be a regional difference then. The back of my boyfriend's jar has hydrogenated palm oil listed as the 2nd or 3rd ingredient, but when I lived in Canada I think it was 'modified'.
  • It's 130 calories for a 32g scoop, with 24g of protein and only 4g carbs (and only 1 of those grams is sugar). Many other protein powders have the same stats, it's kind of the lowest calorie and highest protein per weight you can go, but I recommend ON especially because it's DELICIOUS. To me there's no point chugging down…
  • Don't think of "certain foods" being bad for you. Think of their components as being bad for you. Things that are in nutella I would not eat: - lots of sugar - hydrogenated oils Because it is a nut butter it is also high calorie. So nutella specifically won't ruin your diet, but you should treat it like a dessert or energy…
  • not that one specifically, but ben and jerrys fro yo is delicious! it is still a treat food tho, obviously. LOADED with sugar. the half baked is sooo good though.
  • if you're gonna eat carbs, make em wholegrain. too many carbs is bad for everyone basically, unless you're a high-functioning athlete who needs them desperately, but they are useful and necessary. wholegrain is the lesser of 2 'evils' because fiber is awesome for you and they're usually less "processed". for example,…
  • there are no protein powders "for women". anything marketed that way is a rip off preying on uneducated people. no offense :-) get any ol' whey that's low fat and low carb. Optimum Nutrition extreme milk chocolate whey is my favourite, tastes really good.
  • any reason you're not eating meat? chicken steak turkey fish? yum. especially steak, since you barely have to season it at all (whereas I like my chicken in teriyaki or hoisin - sugar). a fave of mine on a low carb diet was scallops pan seared in sunflower oil then cooked in a little herbs and butter. edit: and while I…
  • the befores and afters of the shred usually aren't that dramatic. depending on your weight it burns 150-250 calories, which is around 2lbs lost in 30 days. it also is mostly cardio so there will not be noticeable muscle gains. big differences will be mostly due to the diet of the model! it's a fun way to increase your…
  • cook diced/shredded chicken in a little soy sauce and paprika (or however you like your savoury chicken), and mix up with some cooked quinoa, mayo, and hot sauce! i also like to add strips of seaweed for texture and fiber. it's basically what I put in a quinoa chicken wrap but straight out of the bowl.
  • I used to have your problem, but with prolonged healthy eating I get hungry at the right times and feel full at the right times. I don't know how long ago you started but decreased carb/sugar intake (unless it's already low/normal) and decreased food intake in general will balance out the hormones responsible for cravings…

  • caffeine and/or chewing gum = hunger is gone for me. I'm used to it now though and only get hungry if I haven't eaten anything in like 18 hours.

  • On days you really don't have time to exercise, just eat less. The end result is the same (minus the benefits of exercise to your heart and muscles, of course).
  • Interesting thread! I have used Yohimbine with great success, particularly for losing fat in stubborn places due to its alpha-2 antagonizing abilities. A2 receptors in abundance can make fat harder to oxidize in that area - while most parts of the body have 1:1 ratio of A2 and B2, a woman's thighs will have as high as 9:1!…
  • Haha this is what I do! I eat a heavier deficit than most people then refeed. How long do you refeed for? one day? a week? Whenever I eat over my TDEE significantly after a period of dieting my stomach is flatter the next morning and it feels like nature is lying to me. :-)
  • I have the same annoyance with milk - it's such a great way to make protein shakes and coffee taste better (I can only handle one cup of black in the morning) but it has those ugly sugars. Sugar is NOT added to milk though - it's lactose! That's what lactose is, what lactose intolerant people are allergic to - sugar. Also,…
  • It's simply not a good source of protein. It is a yummy and easy addition to your diet though, should most of your protein already be covered! :b
  • eating 30g of protein for breakfast is a good idea if you have trouble getting all your protein in, but it makes no difference when you eat it. especially if you don't weight train heavily. i don't even eat breakfast haha
  • I'm going to post this photo I took to show my boyfriend, who's overseas right now, because it's silly and mildly inappropriate (no nipples, just bandages) to show you my outcome. I had anatomical silicone overs. I discussed at great length with my doc the implant and procedure to give me natural, comfortable, long lasting…
  • I think requiring therapy is a really bad path to take. It should definitely be offered and promoted should someone want to talk about their concerns and insecurities, but requiring it is stupid. It's reminiscent of mother's requiring therapy before an abortion - it's just really none of the public's business.
  • I have implants. However, this was to correct a medical deformity, which is why I got them so young. I am so happy with them, mainly because I had very small ugly breasts beforehand. They are comfortable and natural. Do not let the stigma get to you, you deserve to have the body you want. The only reasons that should stop…
  • No birth control causes fat gain. The only way it possibly could is by increasing your appetite, and the solution is easy - don't eat more food. It CAN cause hormonal water retention, which looks like bloating and shows up as numbers on the scale, but this can be reduced by drinking lots of water and it fades over time in…
  • Why are you eating 30g of protein at breakfast? You could always skip it and add more edible proteins you like to lunch and/or dinner. That said, Optimum Nutrition is the only one I'd tried, and it's DELICIOUS! Chocolate and vanilla are both very good blended with milk.
  • spirits + diet soda. seriously though, alcohol is terrible for both fat loss and muscle building, i'd minimize calorie intake and just accept your weight loss is going to take a blow that night. it does nasty things to your liver's ability to metabolize fat.
  • My first boyfriend ever introduced me to his friend, and as we were walking off I paused to get my phone out of my bag. I could hear him say to my bf ahead of me, "she's a bit fat". I know that doesn't sound terrible but it ruined my afternoon and was the first time I looked at myself critically in the mirror.
