When you're looking at HRM, consider getting one with a chest strap. They are more accurate than a watch by itself.

For me, it is absolutely essential that I not let myself get too hungry. If I get super hungry then all my willpower and better judgment goes out the window. Awesome!!!! I saw your post earlier tonight and went to Sears and ordered it. I just picked it up 15 minutes ago! I can't wait to try it out. I think I just motivated myself to do my workout tonight. :)

Like others have already said, your body is already in starvation mode if you really are only consuming 400 calories a day. It would be helpful to seek the guidance of a dietician to help you develop a food plan that will fuel your body and get you on a healthy track.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing that it is recommending 1200 calorie/day because anything less puts your body into "starvation" mode and actually hurts your weight loss. I would stick with the 1200/day.
