I lived in La Gomera and lost tonnes of weight. I mainly attribute that to the diet - salad, fish and just amazing Mediterranean inspired food - despite being in the Atlantic Ocean! I still love the Spanish diet! I also attribute my weight loss to the heat - I just didn't want heavy carbohydrate laden food typical of the…

Ask them to do you something low fat, low calorie for you! They have all the ingredients! Alternatively have you considered bringing a lunch to work instead?

Evans do good leggings and big Tshirts in big sizes. Their stuff is a bit pricey but they last well. Don't worry about how you look because what people will see is someone who is determined to get fit, lose weight etc instead of making excuses. Go for it girl.

Ditto! I love mine and it is nicely motivating! I have the flex and I also got a load of diffferent coloured bracelets with it to coordinate with outfits! I got mine on Amazon and saved a few pennies.

I have not read through all the posts on here but I would like to make a comment which might explain why you see yourself as fat in the mirror despite you knowing that you are not. If you are on maintenance, you do not appear to be eating enough at c1500 calories. If you do not eat enough, the chemistry in your head can…

Congratulations on what you have achieved so far. Walking is effective and combined with the strength training it all seems to be working for you. Running burns more because it is more intense but if it causes you pain, stick to walking. Either way it is working for you so just keep it up!

Honey! You don't say when your daughter was born? Weeks, months or years? It is important to know the facts of this before people give advise! My immediate thoughts are post-natal depression? Without knowing more, I personally will not give you any advice other than sending a huge virtual hug and suggesting you see your…

Invest in a Fitbit! You can pick them up on Amazon. For me it is a really good tool. I cannot run due to damaged knees and I find the gymn just isn't my thing! Walking is a great way to relax, deal with stress, get fresh air and unless there is ice I go out every day. I am to do 4-6 miles a day which takes about 50mins. It…

Your knees are not necessarily screwed! I have had two surgeries on my left knee and one on my right to fix torn cartilage! Unfortunately the left has gone again but I just slap the anti-inflammatory gel on, take a couple of paracetomol and carry on! I currently walk 5-6 miles a day but I avoid the gym because that did…

If you are on a student budget stock up on cans of tomatoes, kidney beans and dried lentils, peas etc. Also rice and dried pasta! You will be amazed how with a bit of effort you can eat very cheaply indeed and have a much healthier diet. Yes it takes more effort but it is worth it. When I was a student my kitchen bible was…

Common sense suggests that good proper unprocessed food is always the best. Occasional processed meals are OK but generally anything with more than 5 ingredients tends to include a lot of E numbers. And the point of this is surely to begin to eat more healthily?

Bolking is Norn Irish for vomiting?

Totally agree - it is unpleasant when we gain but once you get back into it and see the pounds coming off again it lifts the spirits! It also means you are not deluding yourself but accepting that sometimes it takes us longer to achieve goals!

Couldn't put it better myself!

Slightly different take but I make an awesome soup - butternut squash x 1, sweet potato x 2, garlic (6-8 cloves) and shallots (6-8). Cut the squash and sweet potatoes in half, drizzle with olive oil and bake in the oven with the garlic cloves and whole shallots for 45 minutes. Leave to cool a bit then scoop out the flesh,…
