Routine routine routine. This takes time to build but will help immensely. Try to work in some exercise at least three times a week. I bought a pedometer and walk. The pedometer helps me get accurate calorie readings as many of the things listed on MFP tend to be high. You want to overestimate food and underestimate…

I felt much better after only 10lbs.

You can't change what you did; you can only change the days to come. Get back on the wagon and eat right/exercise. Don't let a bad month turn into a bad year.
-
I walk. It's boring, but that's what headphones are for.

Most fad diets work. Whether or not you can keep the weight off afterward is a different matter entirely.
-
Have you tried Torrid? They're like LB for the more youthful crowd.

I'm 5'4" and currently 198. A few years back I got as low as 145, which is my goal now. I should really be more like 135 but ~150 is a LOT easier for me to maintain and I still look good.

After getting discouraged you did what it took to help you feel better about your progress rather than giving up. Great work!

Whenever I hit a plateau on Atkins it was because I was eating too many things that were technically low carb but still processed junk food ("sweets" mostly), rather than healthy snacks.

One bad day isn't going to kill you. Just get back on track tomorrow and you'll do fine. :)
-
Ooooh I'll have to try that.

Why not just eat a tapeworm? Or run around in the blazing sun while wearing a rubber suit? Jockeys used to do that. And I'm being completely sarcastic. The stuff your talking about is dangerous.

Long term healthy and good BMI are better than winning a bet. You want to keep it off don't you?

I hate exercise. Nothing I love better than sitting on my butt. I've made an effort to walk at least six days a week though. I used to be in a hiking group, which I actually enjoyed, but it got cancelled so now I can't hike (not doing alone for safety reasons).

I'd like to get down to 145. Short term I could probably go lower but around 150 seems to be the easiest to maintain for me. That's still considered overweight for my height but it's a lot better than where I am now. Long term I just want to keep it off. Diabetes and heart issues run in my family and I'd like to prevent…

Personally, I do not count veggies as they are really low anyway. I do count fruit.

>Done it? Did it. >What did you like the most? Losing weight obviously. Weekly weigh-ins really helped with accountability as there was a REAL person weighing you weekly and you'd feel super guilty if you gained. Also having no diet restrictions per se. >What DON'T you like about it? >Do you notice you have problems with…

You look outstanding!

Everything is better with cheese imo. I have several family members with very specific tastes though: Stepbro - Ketchup on EVERYTHING. My grandfather did this too. Because of him, my mom never knew until college that you could eat mac n cheese without ketchup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEkgFbH9H08 Sister- A1 steak…

A few years back my whole family was doing Weight Watchers so I tried that too. I lost a decent amount of weight but kept starving myself all day just to have one decent meal. A lot of the low point foods would not tide me over either. As I lost more weight I became frustrated because the amount of points I could eat…

When I was on Atkins I never counted calories. Typically you end up eating a reasonable amount of them anyway just because you feel satisfied faster.
-
The fat/protein makes you feel full. As for the carb cravings, you typically won't get any until you start introducing carbs back into your diet (later phases).
-
As long as you're in your calorie allotment you're fine.
-
It could slow you down, but everyone's body is different. How close are you to your calorie allotment? If you're pretty close I wouldn't worry too much. If you're way off (~200 calories or more) you might want to try getting an additional snack or something. Healthy snacks will help keep your blood sugar stable as well.…

I'm 32 and have a 14 month old daughter. Years ago I lost a ton of weight with Aktins and was very happy with the diet. Then I met my husband and gained a ton. Living with someone who eats like crap and tells you you're beautiful no matter what will do that to a person. Several years into our marriage I decided to try…

I eat all of my calories, but I don't trust MFP's calculations on exercise. I bought a pedometer and use that for my calories burned. It's readings are a lot lower than MFP's estimates and probably a lot more accurate. At the very least you want to eat some of it back. If you get too few calories per day your body is going…

Jockeys used to do it. It's not exactly healthy as the worms eat all your nutrients, not just straight calories.
-
Welcome to MFP! My tips: - Exercise as much as you can and eat your exercise calories. - Log everything, every day. Even bad days! Especially bad days! - Get friends on MFP or find friends here. There's more accountability and encouragement if you lose weight with a social group. - Get your BF/spouse/SO involved. Even if…

Those are on every Craigslist ad I've ever seen.

The name of the company is amusing too.
