If you use the app, you can search your recipes in it.

It's more accurate, and it's much easier than measuring with cups/spoons. You can weigh right in the dish you're eating out of and zero out after each ingredient. Nothing extra to wash! I love my kitchen scale!!

If you're in the app, just swipe left, and it should give you a delete option.

My husband and I love to puree it with Ranch Dressing Mix and use it for veggie dip. To us, it's a lot better than using sour cream, and it's lower in calories/higher in protein too. We also both like cottage cheese as is, and I enjoy it with canned pineapple as well.

I usually weigh my food after it's cooked. That being said, there are entries in the database for both cooked and raw versions of meat, so make sure you pick the correct entry! Enjoy your new scale. You won't know what you did without it!

This sounds really good. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a big fan of cauliflower but love Skinnytaste's Cauliflower Fritters! We have them as an entree pretty often. We dip them in sriracha sauce. ;) http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/02/cauliflower-fritters-25.html

This is what I do too.

This sounds good. Thanks!

I have a bag of red lentils waiting to be used for something. We love poached eggs. I think we'll try this! Thanks!

A food scale is a great investment when you're trying to watch your portions. You can get a good one for around $20. Also, please remember that measuring cups are for fluid ounces, not ounces by weight. :) For drumsticks, I'd probably just find the MFP entry without an asterisk in front of it and add that to my diary.…

I haven't read all the replies, so someone may have mentioned this or something similar. I have started using a combination of ground turkey and lentils for our taco filling. I simmer a cup of dried lentils for about 20 minutes then mix those in with a pound of ground turkey that I've browned, along with our taco seasoning…

I'm so glad you posted that. I just downloaded the app and plan to use it today after work, but I was wondering what speeds it considered walking and running. Thanks!

This! :)

Awesome. We love sriracha and grow a lot of peppers every summer. We will definitely be trying this recipe out. Thanks!

The recipe for the sausage is linked in the Skinnytaste post. I have also used turkey bratwurst instead but usually just season my own turkey similar to her recipe: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/01/turkey-sausage-kale-and-white-bean-soup.html This soup is delicious & is one of my very favorite recipes from her website.…

No, if the nutritional info says it's cooked, it needs to be weighed cooked. You can probably get a more accurate calorie count if you weigh your meat raw, but that isn't always an option. If you were to do that, though, you would need to find the entry for the raw form. As others said, always try to find the entry without…

I used to hate avocados (more the texture than the taste) but have grown to love them. I'll slice them up and eat them with a little salt now!! They're great in smoothies, as someone has already mentioned. I used 1/2 of one in place of mayo for chicken salad yesterday. I added some fresh cilantro & a squeeze of lime juice,…

We try to eat meatless a few nights a week. One of our favorites is black beans & rice. I soak a pound of dried black beans overnight then put them in the crockpot with chicken broth & lots of spices the next morning. That evening, we cook some brown rice with chicken broth & a can of rotel tomatoes to serve the beans…

Here is the way the MyFitnessPal official entry for cooked chicken breast looks: Chicken - Breast, meat only, cooked, roasted If you search for that, you will notice there is no asterisk in front of the entry, meaning it's an official entry. If you will try searching similar to this format (most generic term followed by…

This sounds awesome! I'm trying it ASAP!

It depends on what nutritional information you're using. There are entries for both raw and cooked (various methods) foods. It is probably more accurate to choose a raw entry and weigh your food raw, but sometimes that isn't possible or convenient.
-
Search the MFP database for "turkey, cooked" and you should see different cuts of meat and different methods of cooking. Entries without an asterisk are the official entries and should be accurate.

This is one of our favorites. We're actually having it tonight: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/01/turkey-sausage-kale-and-white-bean-soup.html

For beans, I always use MFP's official entry. It should be under "Beans, cannellini, cooked" or something like that. Find that and weigh your beans, drained. If I want the liquid as well, I just add that back after I've weighed the beans themselves. I figure it can't have many calories. That's what I do anyway...I'm not…

My husband & I prefer to roast ours cut side up like this: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/11/baked-spaghetti-squash-0-pts.html
