Check out RizKnows on youtube. He has some good reviews on these type of trackers

I had similar complaints about the Moto S-10s. They were also rather bulky. I had the Moto S-9s previously and they unrecoverably died during a half marathon I ran (boo!).

Yesterday at the gym, I bumped into another father from my kids' school who I had not seen in a few weeks. He asked me if I had lost like 50lbs because he was shocked with how much different I looked since he saw me last. :)

What kind of battery life do you get for those?

Very good point. I like that my Garmin has GPS built in.

I have the Garmin Vivoactive HR. I really like having the GPS for running and biking. Its nice to have the wrist based heart rate to give you an accurate picture of how hard you are working. I picked mine because I wanted to swim more, and this one tracks swim laps. Whats your price range?

Are you just trying to count steps and such or do you want something for running as well?

Keep it up! You are doing great!

You should be doing a bit of both. Do some longer slower runs to build up your endurance. Also, do some shorter, faster runs to build up speed.

The nice part about the watch is that you can get replacement bands for it if you want.

My most recent NSV was fitting into a pair of pants that had not fit in a couple of years

I really have never weighed my food. I have a feeling that my wife would go crazy if I did that to everything. I'm doing my best job at estimating (over-estimating sometimes) portions and I've lost some weight so far.

I have the vivoactive HR. I've been wearing it pretty much all the time since I bought it about 2months ago. It has held up pretty well. No real scratches or scuffs yet. The wrist based HR monitor seems to work pretty well.

That bar is the move alert bar. If it starts filling up with white marks, it is telling you to move. I think every time you get a white mark added you get a vibration. Love my vivoactive HR

I used to used to use Runkeeper, but now that I have a Garmin watch, I use Garmin Connect.

Dad of three boys: 11,9, and 7. Keeping up with them makes it difficult to fit in workouts.

I looked at the Fenix 3 HR, but the new Vivoactive HR had most of the features I wanted/needed and was like 1/2 the price. I don't do any open water swimming right now so I think I'll be ok for now. If I kick up my game a lot, maybe I'll upgrade to the Fenix 3.
-
Hows the Fenix 3? I look at that but really wanted to have something that could track my lap swimming.
