Well I lost 40 by doing no carbs. But that only lasted for a little while then the carb cravings where so bad a fell completely off the wagon and gain 20 back. So then I just started reading and researching. And finally gave up on fad diets and miracle pills. I started counting calories and logging food I still eat what I want it just might not be on the quantity that I use to eat. And I weigh my options that candy bar might taste good but do I want to waste the calories on it or have some extra chicken or steak at dinner. Plus I have started exercising and lifting weights. The big secret is intake less calories then you use throughout the day. Also don't drink your calories stick with water.8

Great progress mate. Sounds like you are doing it the same way as I am trying. Adding in some exercise so as I can eat a few more calories. There is no way that I could do 1200 or even 1500, but with some additional walking, the occasional trip to the gym and around 1800/2000 a day, I appear to be on the right track. It will not happen overnight, but I have to be happy with small losses in weight and gains in health.
