  • We also are very similar - I currently weigh 140 and my goal weight is 138. 2lbs away and have been for 2months! I was on 1500 cals to lose 1/2lb and i always ate most of my exercise cals. I lost 15lbs that way and now I only want 2lbs more I've came to a halt. I'be now been trying upping to my maintanence of 1700 and…
  • Oops - Levis not Lees, I was paying attention - honest!!
  • Great topic! I'm British and have the exact same problem, I no longer had any jeans that fitted and went shopping last week got really disheartened after trying loads on but finally found 2 pairs in New Look (not sure if you get these outside UK), found some that fitted in H&M but didn't like the colours, and found that…
  • i have the sketchers shape ups, wear them for 1+ hours a day when I walk my dog and they are oh-so comfy!! again not sure on the toning part as i do other stuff as well but there's a walk I do thats 80mins at about 3mph and usually by the time 70mins is up i can really feel my thighs burning. One day I forgot to change out…
  • thanks guys, i think i'll leave it how it is - I think i'm only in the weights bit for about 15-20mins and that's with breaks so I probably don't burn much.
  • Will be giving these a try! Thank u
  • I work shifts and strangely when I'm on early shift and the alarm wakes me at 5am, by the time I get up I am starving! But on my days off and when I'm on backshift and wake up naturally around 8-9am I'm not hungry and feel my breakfasts are forced - Very strange!!
  • Will be trying these - thank u!
  • Just the thought of following a 'diet plan' filled me with dread - even the types with 40+ main meals - all I would think is 'I am limited to these foods for the rest of my life??' so MFP Is the first time I have successfully lost weight purely because you can still eat whatever you like (within reason obviously) but your…
  • I was in the gym the other day and there were 2 school kids there, we were all doing the leg weight machines. I had the legpress at 100kgs (I think it's measured in kg anyway but it was about halfway down the weights) so I left that and went to the adductors which I do at 80kgs (goes up to 100kgs so the pin is quite near…
  • I know what you mean about the appetite - I'm currently on 1450cals per day plus all my exercise cals (between 300-500 per day) and the day after I strength train I'm constantly hungry! Absolutely starving! I always eat if I am genuinely hungry, and I'm trying to make sure I get a lot of protien both the meal after I lift…
  • That really is amazing! Congratulations - there's nothing like the sense of achievement that comes with passing a personal goal! I'm doing week 7 day 1 later today. I only managed about 4k on Monday when I did week 6 day 3 but I'm thinking there's still 3 weeks of the programme left as long as I have my stamina to run…
  • If you're not enjoying the food your eating then don't eat it anyway! I made a naan bread (as a treat as well!) in oven the other day and left it in too long. It was like toast! Not burnt, but crunchy. I had a taste and didn't like it so I didn't eat it. 4 months ago I'd have eaten it anyway!
  • I agree - carbs aren't bad. I get shakey if I lower my carbs so I just try to keep them in moderation, including baked potatos! Although I would see a baked potato and filling more as a lunch not a dinner, especially if you've done a lot of exercise today. just make sure you eat enough,'maybe pad it out with a salad on the…
  • Gotta try this - thnx for sharing!
  • I'm doing the 100 pushup challenge from the same programme and I have spent the last 3 weeks repeating week 3! However rather than being discouraged I am happy to keep repeating as I can notice such a big difference in my arms. Just think of the difference it must be doing and it's better to be doing some of the programme…

  • I see MFP as a lifestyle change not a diet and If I cut out all food all the time I would fail so on social occasions I 'let' myself have a bit of what I want (not a massive portion mind) and I don't feel deprived. I have my usual breakfasts, lunches and dinners that I choose from and my lowest of each (crunchy nut cheerios…

  • I usually start by planning my main meals for the week and go grocery shopping for everything that i need. All my main meals are between 400-800 cals, so then on the days where I'm having a low cal main meal I'll have a bigger lunch (like pasta or a baked potato) and on the days I'm having a bigger main meal I'll stick…
  • i was having a look back on what i ate when i first joined. I didnt change my diet before i started, just ate it, logged it ,seen how many calories and either thought 'right, that wasn't worth it - never having that again!!' Or "that was worth it, but i'll need to have a less calorific lunch to fit it in as dinner or burn…

  • well done!! Bet you can't wait to get onto week 6!
  • I feel your pain. I also love the gym but I work shifts and for 1 week out of 3 I cannot go. I get a bit miserable and end up being close to my maintenance calories. I'm on 'that' week right now and can't wait for Wednesday til I can go back to the gym. I automatically want to eat healthier when I'm exercising also. I…
  • Well done! I'm on week 7 - I was nervous to do week 5 day 3 but it all went ok. Good luck - you can do it :-)
  • i feel the same about measuring!! Where exactly is the waist?? I mean obviously I know where the waist is....until I go to measure!!

  • Hey, I'm 5'7", currently 139lbs wanna be 133lbs. These final 6lbs are hard to lose!!! I've not been eating great since hitting 139lb as my original goal was 133-139lbs so in my head I'm at the upper level of my goal. Starting today I'm back on track though, Feel free to add me
  • I have found that with my now healthy diet (or much healthier than what it was!) that if i splash out and have an indian (korma, the full on stuff!) or eat a bag of sweets (full bag, no portion measurements here) that i actually get a sore stomach the next day. that definatley spurs me on to not do it again!! (well until…
  • is there any way you could take the free food, put it aside and take it home once you finish and have a buffet dinner there? Doesn't really help with the calorie counting but overall it would be less... i think i'd find it hard in your position too!!
  • Just realised you said 'easy' recipes - my earlier post is relatively easy but you can't get any easier than this- 1 pack couscous (just add boiling water) Serve with either: 2 x baked pepper (chop top off, de-seed, put top back on wrap in tinfoil and bake for 20mins) 2 x baked flat mushrooms (wrap mushroom in tinfoil and…
