  • I have heard of Keppra rage and also suicidal thoughts but so far so good as neither of these side affects have bothered me. Guess my loss of appetite may be the lesser of two evils! Hope your son is okay now. Thanks for reply x
  • Thanks guys. I did body attack this morning and was fine. Not sure about the keppra though as I'm feeling really sick with it. Kristinabee I will keep an eye on it for sure. The surgeon thought I would be able to come off the meds after the op but my neurologist said I would probably have to stay on them. Will cross that…
  • Thanks for the support. Fortunately I am type to count my blessings and it could have been so much worse. xx
  • Thanks for input guys. You can still eat 500 to 600 calories per meal and it certainly isn't leaving me hungry. I have lost two pounds in 5 days but that may just be down to water as it says reducing carbs can have that effect. I'm not taking any supplements just trying the 3 meals a day. It has curbed by snacking which…
  • It suggests through research that many people are Leptin resistant. There are five rules: 1. Never eat after dinner which should be consumed at least 3 hours before going to bed 2. Eat three meals a day - no snacking and leave 5-6 hours between meals 3. Do not eat large meals 4. Eat breakfast containing protein 5. Reduce…
  • I always give up chocolate as well. What is the point of giving something up if it is not difficult! I am currently eating quite a bit of chocolate at the moment with this being the last day to indulge. Easter is extra special though I do tend to gorge a bit on excess chocolate. You do become a bit obsessed. But I like a…
  • Livingston, Scotland - near Edinburgh!
  • Balance is the key I think. Yeah I have low blood pressure too but had never made the connection. Sometimes it can be as low as 98 over 60. I had heard low blood pressure is as bad as high blood pressure. But you can't spend your life worrying. I feel fitter and healthier than I ever have so must be doing something right!
  • Thanks for the head up I didn't realise too little sodium could be so risky. Hopefully as Zoominzozo says I am perhaps taking more than I realise though I don't drink fruit juice much either. I do drink lots of water and doesn't that contain traces of sodium? But thanks anyway for the heads up.
  • Thanks for all the helpful comments. I dont add salt to anything and am not a fan of crisps. I tend to eat unsalted nuts. I will try to watch it doesn't drop below the 500 mark which it has done. I see my vitamin A goes through the roof when I consume sweet potato. So most days probably don't need to worry about overdosing…
  • I'm 55 and have lost 20 pounds in 3 months. If I can do it you can too. This site is brilliant for support. An the app is easy to use. Good luck.
  • How is everyone doing? I have a pound to go and am well chuffed. Wishing everyone a fantastic Christmas and a guid New Year. Hoping I do not put on much weight over the festive season - there is just so much of everything out there! Let me know how you are all doing. x
  • Hey how is everyone doing? I am only one pound away from meeting my target of 20 pounds. I didn't think it was possible but I have worked really hard and the results are great. Hope everyone else is doing as well?
  • Snowing this morning in Livingston but hopefully will have turned to slush by time I get home. No snow in Edinburgh but Penicuik has snow too.
  • Well done losing 9 pounds. It must have been particularly difficult for you as normally I find it very easy to exceed the 1200 calories I have been set. What makes a difference for me is the exercise as that allows you to eat back your calories. I also find several small meals suit me much better as I struggle with big…
  • Brilliant! You have obviously worked very hard. Bet you feel terrific.
  • Its definitely harder at the weekend. Try to fit in some extra exercise then you don't feel so bad when you eat/drink more.
  • Happy to support you too. Its a great site and makes all the difference to know that there are people rooting for you that face the same challenges and dare I say temptations!

  • Funny I asked the same question as I was 600 calories under following exercise yesterday:happy: . Problem is that if you do a double class early evening you cannot eat much beforehand and by the time I get home at 9pm I do not want to eat a big meal. Its reassuring to know that you do not always have to eat back exercise…
  • Hello from Bonnie Scotland. Its a great site for motivation and tracking weight loss. Food diary is also very helpful in ensuring you are sticking to your calorie limit. Feel free to add me too. As they say in the song "People who need people are the luckiest people in the World"!!!
  • I lived in Canada for a year. In Agincourt in Toronto. Does that count?
  • Pinky67 - great post. I love positive quips as well. My favourite is "Attitude more than Aptitude will determine your Altitude"! Along with "If you think you can, you can; If you think you cant, you cant". 381bs loss is a tremendous achievement. Well done.
  • Sounds good I am up for it as well.
  • Its important to do them properly to avoid back ache. Make sure your back remains on the floor and don't arch. I hate abdominal exercises too. After having my sons I failed to do the abdominal exercises and now have a gap in my abdominal wall. If you have had a baby recently its so important to do the exercises. I have a…
  • I am up for the challenge. Like you I find it easier to lose weight when I cut out junk food but I now also want to up the exercise and look more at the nutritional content of the food I eat. I have lost 8 pounds and already feel so much better. I am 5 5 as well and weigh 138 pounds at present. Not sure I can get down to…
  • I have been doing it since Sunday. What a great tool to track your calories. I think I might be able to stick to this - its amazing how you cut out the rubbish when you have to record it!
