  • so then how much is too much?
  • Wait so, did you just start eating gluten free, or did you just start eating healthy? Yeah I also live on campus but I have a kitchen. However I have done the cafeteria thing for a number of years and it is very hard!
  • I just started a GF free diet about a week or so ago as well! So far I havent really noticed a difference. However I havent been eating GREAT, but now that I am back at school I plan on eating a lot healthier so I will have to see. To be honest, I guess I am not expecting much. I have done this before and I felt good doing…
  • Interesting. i think bmi is just a guideline, body fat percentage matters more. at least you HAVE muscle though already.
  • so then what would ur body fat percentage be?
  • Ah. Yeah I workout but am no means a bodybuilder. Maybe I will shoot for around 130, being on the low end of that.
  • Thanks - i didnt know there was such a thing as 'food based' multis. I always felt like when i took one of those big centrum pills that nothing was really going anywhere
  • i am replying to this bc no1 did mwahahaha
  • You may want to look into the spike diet. Depending on your sex and weight, you zigzag calories. For example, I eat 1200 3 days, 1550 3 days, and then one day...3100!!! I DID just start this a week ago, so i cant from my own experience say it works. ill find out later in the week.
  • I have found that it just depends on what I can do on any given day. When my right ankle is flaring up, obviously I dont run or do cardio. I have no cartilage left in my shoulder basically (getting surgery eventually), so I cannot perform any arm exercises whatsoever. One thing I can always do is ab workouts.
  • Hi! Nice to meet you. My name is Jamie, and I have had R.A. since I was 11, and I am 23 now. It certainly hasnt been easy. And go you, that is a lot of weight you lost! I am/was also your starting weight, doing this for about 4-5 weeks now. Love the group name btw!
  • So how much are you guys over by ? Cause I am over by A LOT
  • That is also a good idea to try to estimate how many cals I will eat first. I am actually not a big drinker at all so the chances of me getting drunk or even getting a hangover are very slim. Since i dont like the taste of alcohol I usually go for wine coolers and sugary stuff though. i think i might not even drink at all…
  • Thanks everyone for your advice and support. I think for me I need more the REASSURANCE that i can still do this...normally, i would just say "screw it!" and there would go my diet.
  • I love how even when i am drinking i still run to my ipod to log the calories :p I guess I will try to compensate on the other days. It is just that I let my guard down, and i dont think it is just the alcohol - it is when im with a bunch of people too..that are eating!!
  • It matters, but yes, you can def still lose weight. I have already lost a few pounds and I prob eat too much sugar, just look at my diary! I would reccomend you try to get as much protein as you can just because it will make you feel fuller and satisfied. But if sugar sneaks its way in there, you can still lose weight.
  • I work out, nothing too insane though. Alot of ab exersises, running/walking..... Basically, most of my diet is carbs and just enough protein. I dont eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, so I suppose sometihng along the lines of those kinds of powders might work.
  • Kind of. truth is the shakeology stuff looks good but i can in no way afford 100 dollar a month for that. something alone the lines of that.
  • Yeahhh it isnt...although I find if I keep within my calorie limit I still am losing weight. I just know it isnt that healthy.

  • the burrito bowls sounds good...but i MUST have my guac!!!! thanks for the calculator!
  • ok i will keep my calorie goal the same then. I dont even have too much to lose...I was thinking a goal weight of 150 is good for now. i still get kina hungry at points in the day. I even have 6 smaller meals but I am usually pretty hungry even in between those. Thank you all for the advice and support!
  • rachel what was your starting weight?
  • It def is not fluctuation because I was weighing myself previously at various times throughout the day priot to my diet and have never hit 160.8 . Water weight whhhhat? I dont want to view this as not true weight loss lol
  • Thanks everyone for the advice! Raf - What youre saying makes sense, since 1898-500 = about 1400 cals, which is close to what myfitnesspal is reccomending me. Guess I am not the only one who isnt sure whether to eat exercise calories or not. I will put them to use on certain days when I really feel like I can use the extra…
  • *just saw the above posts*...halving the calories burned sounds like a good idea. Maybe i will just eat an extra 100 when I work out, esp if i am hungry by the end of the day.
  • For some reason I feel like adding the calories burned (say, 200) to my net total is like 'cheating'....wouldnt you be better off with a bigger deficit as long as you are still eating enough?
