WOAH, i eat like a normal human being for a few days and look what happens!! I think my metabolism is actually really good because with the amount of eating I have done in the past I should be much heavier then my 165 starting weight.
Do you think 1450-1600 calories for me is too little ( Female, 5"7) I do work out, just not so much this week because I have a cold.
I started this diet just figuring a pound a week but now i lost 4!
I do not want to gain the weight back, but I would kind of like to eat a little more and I have heard it isn't good to loose that much in a short time period..(yet I am still happy )

Stick with it a few weeks. It's not likely that that is a true weight loss, but more so water weight or normal fluctuation.0

Ok, I'm not an expert. With that disclaimer: I'll tell you about my experience. Anytime I've dieted, I've lost bunches for the first couple of weeks. Then it levels out. So if you follow the mfp recomendations for your age/height/weight/gender you will probabaly slow to a pound or two a week.
Now I've only been on mfp since 9-9-11 so am very new. Good luck!0 -
It def is not fluctuation because I was weighing myself previously at various times throughout the day priot to my diet and have never hit 160.8 .
Water weight whhhhat? I dont want to view this as not true weight loss lol0 -
I never went below 1750.0

It most likely is a true loss, but like the previous poster said...your body will catch up and get on track to the 1-2 lbs per week. Watch Biggest Loser? It happens everytime! Rejoice and use it as motivation girl...just don't get discouraged as it slows down, because it will.
PS...yes, I just joined this particular site today, but don't take that too much to heart. I was tired of my other site. I am 31...130.5 lbs 5ft 5in.and 2 kiddos ages 7 and 4.0 -
Initial loss is usually higher the first 2-3 weeks. Weights are valid if taken same time/conditions, usually every week so as to not make yourself crazy. Eating more than 1200 net often keeps the furnace of our bodies burning more brightly and increasing our weight loss.
When trying any new routines give it 2-3 weeks to see differences in results. Good luck!0 -
I am 5'9", my starting weight was 158. I lost 8lbs in the first two weeks then lost nothing the next two months. Then, all of the sudden I started to lose a pound a week since then.
I just stuck to the same thing the whole time. I consume about 1400-1500 cals. I am currently 137lbs.0 -
About 2 years ago I started my first weight loss plan. In the first week I lost 6 pounds and kept it off. The next week I only lost 2 and it gradually evened out to about 1 pound a week.0

ok i will keep my calorie goal the same then. I dont even have too much to lose...I was thinking a goal weight of 150 is good for now.
i still get kina hungry at points in the day. I even have 6 smaller meals but I am usually pretty hungry even in between those.
Thank you all for the advice and support!0 -
rachel what was your starting weight?
Right after having my last kid I was 180lbs, I didn't start MFP until June at 161, but there's no way I was eating less than 1750 before that, most likely a lot more. And I eat all my exercise calories.0 -

If you don't have much to lose and are hungry, I'd really recommend setting your weekly weight loss goal to 0.5lbs per week.0 -

^^^/This. I have a great deal to lose. But in your case a half pound per week loss sounds very reasonable.0
