I love Eric. But Eric from the book was WAAAAYYY better than on the show. When he lost his memory in the book, he didn't turn into a petulant twelve-year-old. Of course, I have absolutely no complaints about the show's casting, since picturing Eric as he appears on the show is the icing on the cake.

Thank you to all of you for the advice. I did pick up a multi-vitamin this morning and added it to my medication organizer so that I can remember to take it every day.

I think I will start taking some vitamins and see if that helps. You're right about the processed foods. I try to eat fruit and veggies where I can, but between work and being a single mom, it's hard to find the time. It also doesn't help that I'm allergic to about half of them. I used to love watermelon, cantaloupe, and…

Looks good to me. You planned good snacks, so you shouldn't have trouble with being hungry. Just allow yourself wiggle room if you need to change something. I know that for many, planning their foods in advance helps them stick to it. But I fear that any change from the plan could have a psychological impact that could…

Good for you! The first day is always the hardest. I started my diet not quite two weeks ago. It gets a lot easier. Robin

I know exactly how you feel and have been there. For years. But I started on this just under two weeks ago and am surprised at how I've adjusted to it. Now I'm determined. And trust me, at nearly 100 pounds to lose, determination is the #1 ingredient I will have to have. I would love to talk to you about this. If you send…

Wow. That sucks. I live in Louisiana, which is one of only two "right to work" states. Sounds like a positive thing from the title, but what it really means is that unions have absolutely no power. An employer can let someone go without a stated reason. Those people wouldn't have survived here.

I'm kind of the opposite. During the work week I have trouble getting in 30 minutes of exercise, but I can really increase it on the weekends. Especially when my son's at his dad's like this weekend. Since I don't have any gym membership or work out tapes, I ride my bike (ipod on an audio book and the time flies) or play…

I asked a nutritionist doing a talk at my job and he said that drinks like crystal light that add flavor, but little or no calories can be counted glass for glass as water. He also said that even if we don't drink a drop of water a day, we're getting a pretty good amount from our foods, so even though it's not a bad idea…

Keep in mind that no matter how you try to log it, your body is keeping its own log and will give you the results on the scale. So whether you decide to log everything or nothing won't really matter except in how it may effect your mind-set. If you think you're the type who needs the encouragement of seeing that you kicked…

I agree with morning before breakfast. I did a test once. I weighed on the Wii just before I went to bed and then the next morning. My question was, how much of a difference can it make since I spent the whole time sleeping and therefore burning the least calories. Well, on that day at least, it made a 1.5 pound…

I agree with the loose skin. After an almost 11 pound baby and a c-secion, I think my choices are pretty much having loose skin or filling them with fat (or surgery, but I wouldn't be willing to do that).

If you want "so simple it feels like cheating", then I have a couple for you. Each only takes a few minutes and you can make as many servings as you need, so it's good for just you or to give some to the kids (kids love these). Pizza sandwich: You'll need a sandwich grill or a George Foreman type grill. Take a couple of…

Keep in mind that the BMI charts don't take muscle into consideration. You could be the perfect healthy weight and show that you're overweight on BMI charts. I would suggest setting an initial goal of the 155 and then reassess. In the meantime, if you see your doctor you can ask him/her what a good ultimate goal would be.…

Most of all, don't stress out too much over it. If you set too high an expectation for yourself, you will fail and it will hurt you more than if you just make a plan going into it. You know there will be things you really want to eat at the family reunion, so give yourself permission to have some of it in moderation. I…

Maybe you should also schedule an afternoon snack. Many of us have only about 4 hours between breakfast and lunch, but 6 or 8 hours between lunch and dinner. We cling to the idea that we should only eat at meals without realizing that both our bodies and watches tell us that we need to eat sooner.

I like dry cereal. There are tons of options, even some that seem like candy but have lots of vitamins and nutrients. And usually it's only about 120 calories for a cup. I use a measuring cup to scoop out of the bag (I'm too thrifty to buy the box stuff) into a ziplock bag to keep with me in the car. It doesn't melt or go…

You can definitely eat back the exercise calories. Also, remember that it's better to use moderation and stick to it for the long run. Don't torture yourself into quitting in the first week or month!

It generally depends on how much you have to lose. If you need to lose 100 pounds, it will come off a lot faster than if you're only 10 pounds from your ideal healthy weight. Also, you tend to lose more the first week than later. I lost 7 pounds my first week, but I need to lose 94, so that's just a drop in the bucket.

All very good advice. I added a morning snack today and went a little higher on my lunch time calories. I never know when my mom will cook because she's the type who'll say at 5:00pm "I feel good today. I'm going to cook something". But as someone pointed out, she does know that I'm on a diet and very supportive of it, so…

Thank you for the quick response. I've been trying hard to eat a lot of raw foods, although my allergies do get in the way. I've found that I'm able to eat apples, strawberries, and bananas, but melons and grapes are a no-no. I knew about the melons since my throat closed up after eating watermelon a few years ago, but the…

I think that you would be able to eat them since you did so much exercise, but don't push yourself to eat if you're not hungry. Relax, eat slowly, and let your stomach and brain have time to talk to each other so that you know when you're full and ready to stop. Great job on burning 300 calories! How did you do it?
