Not a newbie but still have a lot to lose, about the 75lb mark also. Sounds like you're already determined mentally and I found that was the biggest obstacle. Have fun and also a bit of patience :)

As of yet I've not noticed anything negative, such as more colds, etc just all positive things, which I think stems from the fact I'm starting to feel a lot happier about myself. I'm sure I'll start to notice things, as I'm only a short distance in to this long journey.

Welcome fellow UKer! I have about a further 75lbs to lose, but in the 1.5 months I've been on MFP I've lost a stone already and feel so much happier about myself. Everyone is so welcoming and full of encouragement! Feel free to add me as a friend and together we can get rid of these lbs for good.
