Hi there. I'm 47 and started going through menopause at 42. I've been on MFP off and on for 3 years, and it helped me shed the weight that came on suddenly as my hormones altered. I had a few months off logging, but now back on to improve my nutrition, health and energy levels. I'd love some new friends at a similar life…

Hi there! I'm a fellow Aussie. Welcome to MFP. I first joined 3 years ago, logged religiously for the first year, then have been intermittent since then. However, I am back logging as I know the benefits, so please "friend" me if you want too. All the best!

Hi! I reached my goal a few weeks ago and still track food & exercise, this is an excellent tool. I maintain my weight by doing this and most of all track my nutritional intake, particularly protein, calcium & iron.

Hi everyone, just letting you know I'm taking a break from logging miles for awhile; I hope to return done the track. All the best!

Hi everyone, I have a confession...I have been so slack in logging my miles here and missed last week completely!! Anyway, here it is so far this week: Sunday - 4 Monday - 2 Tuesday - 0 Wednesday - 2 (totaling 8) Happy day to you all. :flowerforyou:

Hi! Yes it does matter where you calories come from. Food is fuel for your body so eating a well balanced diet full of fresh and colourful food is important. I heard a quote recently that went something like this "The western world eats huge quantities in order to feel full yet nutritionally they are starving". That really…

I've enjoyed reading everyone's answers...there are so many knowledgeable people here. I am no expert, however to me there is an overwhelming absence of fruit and vegetables and an abundance of processed protein foods. Your daily protein intake seems huge. How about mixing things up a bit by eating more raw unprocessed…

Soy products, beans, almonds and lentils are all foods I eat to bump up my protein. Good luck!

I have Zumba 1 for WII but haven't really got into it yet; I might when the weather cools down here restricting my outdoor time. Good luck...it's fast and tricky!

Twice a week, first thing in the morning before breakfast as it seems to be more trustworthy and constant at that time.

Hi all. I don't think I've checked in this week. Here are my miles: Sun: 3 Mon: 1.5 Tues: 5 Wed: 3 Thurs: 1.5 Fri: 0 Sat: 3 Total is 17!

Thanks for the replies! You are all doing so well and I appreciate your advice and encouragement. I'm on Week 4 of a C25K and am progressing slowly but surely; I still find it hard to believe I will be running 5K in another month or so. It's a push, but the sense of satisfaction after each session is worth it. Any tips…

I'm here but haven't been checking in as there hasn't appeared to be much happening. It took ages to get a response from my post about starting a C25K, so I went elsewhere for support. It would be great if the Penguins became more active :)

Wow, what an AMAZING transformation. I can't even begin to imagine the time, effort and tears you've put in. Major congrats to you!!

Hi! Good on you for reaching out. I don't know what you are eating but these are some ideas for you that work for me: eat more lean protein which will take longer to digest, change white bread/rice/pasta to a low-GI variety of carb, stay off fizzy drinks and sweets that will spike your sugar levels then cause you to crash…

Thank you both for taking the time to reply to my post.....I was starting to think I would never get a response! Thanks too for adding me as friends. I'm into my third week of a C25K program on my IPhone; it's keeping me on track. I think I'm definitely improving but I'm a long way off from running 5K without stopping. I'm…

I love avocado and eat it regularly in salads, on sandwiches instead of butter, on toast and straight out of the shell. It is high in calories though so I only ever eat 1/2 of one at a time.

Hi. I'm new to running/jogging and have just completed two weeks of a C25K program. A couple of days ago (my rest day) I made the mistake of having a burst of running, while trying to adjust my style a bit on a concrete surface. I've slightly injured the inside of my left shin (between angle & half way up shin). Thanks for…
