  • Because i already log my food and calories and am aware of what i am putting in my body. I'm only going to be on them for 3 months. Its not long term. Its just a jump start, because it is difficult for me to exercise due to my chronic illnesses. I am a part of a gym now, but have to limit what i do.
  • It's only for 3 months.
  • I have been sleeping alright. I take one pull in the morning. Then the other one before lunch. Thats it.
  • Still going. Weight loss has evened out. It gives me a boost of energy. I'm busy doing things, ado it just helps a bit. I'm still eating so I'm getting my calories.
  • Been on them for 5 days. Working, as far as i can tell. I'm still eating so i see no problem. No adverse side effects that i can see. Calories are restricted, so I'm losing weight. I'm not real worried about the appetite returning.
  • Ok so they are appetite suppressants. Not a bad thing for me. Its just to kick start my weight loss so i don't get discouraged. Its working so far. I'm still eating, just have more portion control. I'm losing weight as well. I'm going to check out a gym today with a friend. So soon i may be slowly adding some treadmill…
  • Mom of 3 here as well. I have 50+ lbs to lose. So far i am just logging my calories. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and chronic pain issues. Which makes it difficult to exercise. But I'm going to get at it this week! Happy to stay in touch.
  • I wish just losing weight would allow me to actually be as active as I would like to be. I am not supposed to run or jump, or bend over. The last one is a bit hard to not do at times. I have heard a recumbent bike is good. I wouldn't mind getting one. I would try to do it. I get a lot of hip, & knee pain with the RA though.
  • I agree with the other posts. You need to make yourself eat more. You should at least be eating 1200 calories per day. Whether you are hungry or not. If you don't, like the others stated...you will go into a starvation mode, and your body will start cannibalizing your muscle and you need that to burn more calories. Plus…
  • I just started taking phentermine today. I have RA, fibro, Hashimoto's, and DDD in my spine. Needless to say, exercising is very difficult. I have gained back the weight I lost two years ago, when I was diagnosed with RA, fibro and DDD. Plus I gained an extra 20. It has been a difficult road in getting used to my life the…
  • I guess I never did my intro. My name is Lucy. I was diagnosed with RA this summer, in August to be exact. I also have degenerative joint and disc disease in my spine that I was diagnosed with in May. I also have fibromyalgia, and Hashimotos (underactive thyroid) I have been here on MFP since March. I didn't do any work…
  • The methotrexate is supposed to start working after about 6 to 8 weeks from what I have heard and read. But if your hands are that bad, I would listen to your Dr. I just started the methotrexate. But I have also been taking Plaquenil as well, and my hands and knees are what hurt still. Not always but somewhere throughout…
  • I did day one on the first. I skipped up to today. I will try day two. I have been really super sore all over my body. I have done 30 day shred before about 6 months ago, and I also did Ripped in 30 after the 30 day shred. Then I was very sick and diagnosed with Reumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoarthritis in my…
  • thanks for the replies everyone.
  • well so far, I have only got the answers of stress and weather. I am not looking forward to the change in weather then. Stress I have in spades unfortunately, and I am working on relieving that. Started taking cymbalta today to try to help with that.
  • interesting...new so reading all I can.
  • Hi there! We are neighbors! I am from Montana. Welcome to MFP!
  • I actually had it backwards....sorry....I am too high...that is why she wants me to stop the cytomel. I take tests whenever I am at the Drs....I take my meds in the evening.
  • Hi Anna! I was just recently diagnosed with Fibro and Rhuematoid...in addition to DDD & DJD in my spine. I am in the same boat you are as far as finding pain relief. My Dr.'s have me on a pain management...I have several meds for pain. Meloxicam, Gabapentin, and Hydrocondone. Taking some Prednisone now for the…
  • I looked it up (love google) and it looks interesting and it has some free online workouts you can try...but I am not impressed with the price...but I suppose if worse came to worse...I don't know maybe not. hahaha
  • no clue here...i bought it...tried it...and found that it upset my stomach. Stopped taking it lol.
  • Found that it bothers my stomach.
  • I was doing juicing for a short while....I should do that at least in the a.m. again. It really did give me added energy. I have been mad craving food the last few days. Not sure if its PMS or starting the prednisone. Felt so ill last night however....like I am trying to catch a cold or the flu or something....sore throat,…
  • Love this thread. Just diagnosed, and just starting to have these issues. It is hard for me. I could not open my first jar the other night....my 9 year old daughter did it for me without a problem....I felt so useless :frown: I love reading all the tips and tricks though...stuff I had not thought of yet, but I guess it…
  • I don't know a lot about it, and I have not been tested...I chickened out of my test. I was going to see a gastroenterologist and do the whole shebang...but I totally chickened out lol. My Dr. may still want me to go do it though :frown: I heard you can test from blood but it isn't as accurate. I don't know. Here is a site…
  • I am new to the board too. Just diagnosed with RA. I also have other issues too. Anyone can feel free to add me. We can use all the support we can get. I am active on MFP...although I went through a spell where I wasn't on for about 2 weeks. But I am back! Add away! I sent out some friend requests too.
  • not sure here...going to pick up my tablets today...they gave me the option to do the injections but I thought I might try the pills first. It was so dang hard to find the pills! My Dr had to call around the pharmacies for it.
  • Hahaha! I have used the nick name woozle for at least 15 years now. My oldest son was a big Pooh fan when he was little. I loved the name, because it made me smile. We even had a Winnie the Pooh toy set that came with a Woozle! LOL
  • I got your friend request. Just keep plugging away. I lost the weight I did doing the Jillian Michaels workout DVD's. I am hoping that I will be able to get back to them. If I get some meds that help some of the pain go away. I want to lose at least 35 more pounds. I can do it! I will do it! It may take me longer…
