I am so glad I found this thread. I am almost the big 40. I was born January 1971 and will be 40 in just a few short months. When I turned 39 I had a motto that I was going to be "Fit by 40" Well, I haven't really stuck to anything since then and have to get my rear in gear. I have 70 pounds to lose and looks like I got a…

You are not alone. Depression is a very real issue that I have been dealing with as well. What you wrote could have been my words just 4 months ago. I was at my worst. It was like a horrible cycle that wouldn't stop. However, I made an effort to make it stop. I took charge. I went to a therapist for the depression, and…

I have been doing great with the C25K. I am up to W6D1. Unfortunately, I did not do anything this weekend and I usually have a running day on Saturday. I don't know why. I don't like it. I don't like the way I feel right now. I need to get out there and do D2 tonight. I just have to. I refuse to give up now after coming…

That is amazing. Way to go. I am really proud of you!

Well, my very first weigh in for the group and I have a gain to report. I did not do well this weekend. I didn't have get out and do my C25K for some reason. Sunday was the worst I have been in a while. Luckily, I only had a 1 pound gain. I am now at 184. Need to step it up this week.

I will weigh right after the bathroom, stripped first thing in the morning, then with clothes, then when I get home, after I pee, before dinner, after dinner, before bed. I tell you, it is crazy.

I can have my husband hide the scale. I know he would do that for me. He weighs in on Friday's, but can take it down and hide it again until I weigh in on Monday's. Maybe I can burn some calories running around the house looking for the scale.

Thank you for posting this. I need to get rid of these thighs.

You CAN do this. I know you can. I am in the same boat you are. I never ran in my life before and I just started W6 yesterday. Good luck to you!!!!!!!
-
Wonderful advice from all of you. Thanks so much.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I never even thought of the shoes. They are kinda on the old side and not really for running. I will have to go shopping I guess. HAHAHA

Thank you so much. I was scared too. I just set my mind to it and I did it. You can too. I know you will. Robin - yes, running outside is way harder then on a treadmill. I have a lot of hills where I live and it is very hard. You will get the hang of it. I do have a question for everyone and any help would be great. As I…

I couldn't agree more. I was invisible for a long time. I would not go anywhere, do anything and be alone a lot. I just knew it was because I was so large. But recently I have been seeing therapist for issues and have really begun to open up. I am still a large woman and have a lot to lose still, but I feel better about…

I was just reading over this thread I made when I first started the C25K. I am so very proud to say that yesterday I finished W5D3. A full 20 minute run. I can not tell you how happy and proud of myself I am. All of your well wishes, advice and encouragement were amazing and thanks to everyone! This is me! I am doing it!

OMG!!!!!!! I did it!!!!!! I actually finished W5d3!!!!! I was running for 20 minutes, outside, in the wonderful fresh air. I didn't know I had it in me. I actually cried a little bit when I finished. Can't wait to get out there for the start of W6. Great job everyone!!!!!! You are all doing fantastic!

That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go. I am attempting my first 20 minute run tonight. I did D2 twice and want to do this now.

Well, I did W5D2 yesterday and I have to admit, I didn't make it. On the first 8 minute run I had to stop running at about 6.5 minutes. I was going uphill and about keeled over right there. However, on the second 8 minute run I was able to complete it and feel great. I will be doing that day over again before I move on to…

Well, I did D1W5 yesterday and it was amazing when I actually finished my three 5 minute runs. I can't wait to get out there again. I am so glad I found this thread because it will help me to stay motivated.

I would love to join. I am starting week 5 today and I have to admit, it scares the crap out of me. I have tried this plan several times before and never made it past week 3 so this is fantastic for me.

Being able to wear some clothes in my closet that I have grew out of again.

I found my podcasts on coolrunning. It is a great program to get people who have never run before up and going. Last month I couldn't even run for 60 seconds without heaving up a lung but now I am running 3 minutes at a time. Can't wait for week 4. Lets do this everyone!!!!!!!!

Hello to all. I know this thread is already in progress with everyone doing a great job. I was wondering if there is room for one more. I need to be held accountable for what I do and this is just what I need. Plus I like to see the numbers displayed like that. If it is too late to join that would be ok. Please let me know…

My earliest memory of being overweight was the summer I was 7. I went to New Jersey to spend a week with my cousin (who I now no longer talk to). My mom just bought me a new bathing suit that I though was so great. It was a 2 piece but had a little stomach cover that snapped on to the top. It was blue with flowers on it…
