  • When I was in my 20's I was sick a lot and found out that I was allergic to about 14 foods. Many of them were staples and most of them were my favorites. I don't remember all of them but I do remember I was allergic to lettuce (seriously, lettuce?), tomatoes, mushrooms, fish, and apples. I don't remember the rest of the…
  • I use lean ground turkey for everything: lasagna, meatloaf, fajitas, meatballs, spaghetti, chili, casseroles, tacos, enchiladas, burritos , hamburgers, etc. Basically whatever you cook with ground beef you can still cook substituting ground turkey!
  • I agree with the others, it's probably an allergy. I was diagnosed with asthma and using an inhaler four times a day. They put me on Singular and Flovent which helped but I was still using an inhaler every other day. Then I started getting allergy shots for my allergies and that got my asthma completely under control. I…
  • Pretzels sticks. They are salty and crisp and a yummy alternative and low in calories.
  • I can't have peanut m&m's in the house because I will eat the whole bag. Not the whole 5 lb. bag but I will eat way too many handfuls from it, thus upping my calorie count. But I will eat the whole small bag and that's about 200 calories right there that I don't need. I would like to think that I could eat just three or…
  • I had a back injury and it took six months of constant pain before the pain eased up, and another six months before it was totally healed. Even now, I have to be careful about heavy lifting, etc. Eventually my physical therapist o.k.'d walking for exercise, but I couldn't walk very fast. As time went on, of course, I was…
  • It would be fun to have some new friends with similar height and goal weights, so anyone can friend me if you'd like. I am 5'6" HW: 151 CW: 141 GW: 125-130. I have a small frame and was 124 last year before I hurt my back again, so would like to get back down there again.
  • She was wrong, not you. When she is on the floor she represents the company, and she has no business telling you that she has nothing in your size and what department to shop in. If she doesn't *know* that, then she shouldn't be allowed to work with customers. I doubt if she'll be fired but I am glad that you told the…
  • I was pregnant and so I went to the bathroom a lot. Does that count?
  • When the kids were born I told my husband "You go to work during the day, and that's your job. I stay home with the kids all day and that's MY job. When you come home from work, we share." That's what we did. He would take the kids some evenings and it wasn't called babysitting, it was called parenting. That enabled me to…
  • Have him eat bananas, they contain potassium, and they will help. It seems odd that he's having leg cramps if he's had this job a long time, you'd think his body would be used to it by now. How is he sitting? Is he wrapping his legs behind him on the chair legs? Is he crossing his legs at the ankle? I've got leg cramps…
  • I'm sorry you're in pain. Have you tried calling your dentist's (or doctor's) after-hours number? He/she can call in a prescription for pain meds and antibiotic to help get you through the night or weekend until you can get in there. Otherwise I thought of orajel or whatever that thing is called that you put on a baby's…
  • I would be "good" for part of the day and then "mess up" by eating a donut or something, so then I'd just eat whatever I wanted for the rest of the day. My thought process was that I had already screwed up and ruined my diet, so I told myself "I'll start fresh tomorrow" but tomorrow never came. One day I "messed up" my…
  • Breakfast was usually a croissant (with Brummel & Brown on it) and a diet pepsi. Occasionally it was those Hostess mini chocolate donuts. I usually always was so busy I forgot to eat lunch so there was never a lunch for me, unless I went somewhere like McDonald's and had the six-piece Chicken nuggets, french fries and…
  • We have both, but my husband just uses the bowflex and let me tell you, he is buff!:blushing:
  • Have fun and here's three more: Blizzard Beach: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/listing/?sortBy=nG:hasDiningExperienceFacet&fv_222816=on Typhoon Lagoon: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/listing/?sortBy=nG:hasDiningExperienceFacet&fv_222816=on Sea World (just one link, need to find more):…
  • We went to Disney World last year for three weeks. I was concerned about what I could eat that would be healthy, not deep fried and wouldn't upset my stomach, etc. I had a great time and found enough good food that I could eat that would be healthy enough. I took the list with me to make things easier. Here's a list of…
  • I had a fajita made with lean ground turkey, tomato, onion and green pepper (and the seasoning mix, of course) on a 96% fat free tortilla. I also had a Gala apple with it. I was debating on adding carrot sticks but figured I'd have those later for a snack since I'm not very hungry right now! Edited to add: I forgot to say…
  • I've wondered that too!
  • That is awesome, good for you! You will find lots of support on here to eat healthy and stay healthy! Feel free to add me if you'd like!
  • Please promise me he hasn't procreated......
  • I don't really make any typical diet meals for dinner. I make things like "beef stroganoff" (using lean ground turkey and non-fat milk), teriyaki chicken w/rice, baked chicken breasts (skinless), fajitas (using lean ground turkey), quiche (turkey bacon, non-fat milk and low fat cheese), lean turkey ham, etc. The calories…
  • You will need to open up your diary so that people can see it!
  • I usually exercise around 10 or 11 in the morning just to get it out of the way so I don't have to worry about trying to fit it in. But I also walk a few night a week with a friend and we walk from about 6-7 p.m.
  • Ice cream and m&m's.....so I have them *outside* instead.
  • I waited months and months to get motivated and I just couldn't do it. Finally, I just chucked the motivation and started logging in what I ate every day on MFP. I exercised whether I felt like it or not. I just did it. You have to want it bad enough to change and *do* something about it. Motivation is awesome, but it can…
  • I don't think that 1200 is enough calories either, especially if you're exercising. I am 54 years old and 5'6" and I lost nearly 10 pounds eating 1200 calories, but it was actually *under* 1200 because I wasn't eating back my exercise calories at that time. My weight loss stalled and I wasn't feel well anyway, so I upped…
  • Once I ate something I shouldn't have or went over my calories I would tell myself that I'd "ruined" the day so that gave me permission to eat whatever I wanted. I said that I would start fresh "tomorrow." But tomorrow never seemed to come because every day I was "ruining" my diet. I finally got to the point where I…
