  • I try to drink my own version of Keto lemonade at least once a day. I mix a couple tablespoons lemon juice, a couple tablespoons Braggs Cider Vinegar, a pinch of lite salt (for potassium) and a pinch of sea salt, a dash each of cinnamon, turmeric, ginger (dried powder), and cayenne pepper. Sweeten to taste with Keto…
  • I use Propel as my electrolyte drink of choice. You can get boxes of the mix sticks at may stores. I usually get mine at Target over by the water enhancers (think Kool Aid for adults!). I get these rather than the bottles because it saves money and it is easy to stick some in my purse for travel. I definitely recommend it!
  • Have lost 18 pounds in 5 weeks. Would like to lose 2-3pounds per week in October. I may not log in to the forum every day, but I am committed to the following: 1. Logging food, exercise and weight in MFP daily 2. Keep under 25 net carbs per day. 3. Keep under 1650 calories per day 4. 10000 steps per day 5. Drink BP Coffee,…
  • YES! I am doing Keto and just started on 8/23/17. I have lost 10.8 pounds so far. It has been a lot easier than I thought and I am NOT "hangry"!
  • Last night I had a similar craving. Took 2 TBS cream cheese, 2 TBS whipping cream and mixed it up with 1/2 scoop of Salted Caramel Protein Powder. Very smooth and decadent! It brought my fat level up to where it needed to be and satisfied that craving. Since I just make ONE serving at a time it keeps me from wanting to eat…
  • I just had 2 tablespoons cream cheese, 2 tablespoons whipping cream, and half scoop salted caramel protein powder mixed together. Tasted decadent like full fat ice cream. Feeling full and happy!
  • This is day 10 for me and I have lost 9.6 pounds so far. My NSV is strange but when I look off my shirt I saw a few small shallow divets. I think those are small pockets of space that was filled in with fat! Also I lost 6 overall inches on my first "official" weekly weigh in. B)
  • I have felt fine so far but I am concerned that I am not getting enough potassium. Considering a supplement.
  • Six days down and I have lost 8 pounds. I am beyond thrilled! I have a long way to go but hope to be at or near my goal by my 60th birthday in February. Sixty is the NEW Thirty! SW: 242 CW: 234 GW 165
  • Grew up in Southeast Missouri and LOVED saltines slathered with butter!
  • Just started 4 days ago and have lost 4 pounds (water) and hope to lose 10-15lbs in 30 days.
  • Clcabe - logging your food is a pain but definitely helps to see where you can improve. Maybe you aren't losing because you are at a normal weight. I am 60 -70 pounds overweight. I have lost 4 lbs of water in the first 3 days. I can't tell if I am in ketosis but have stayed under 20 net grams carbs each day. Very hopeful…
  • Thank you for the advice! I tend to overdo salt so I am probably okay. I felt great today and so far have about 12000 steps in. I am not a big sweet eater but I do love crackers, chips, bread, and all the beans and starchy vegetables. Haven't really missed anything too much yet but am prepared with some low carb…
  • I am having a hard time eating enough protein and fat as I am too full. I am at the end of day two. Keeping under 1600 calories with 5% Carbs/30% Protein/65% fat. Also, is it normal to pee like a horse on day two? I assume I am losing excess water naturally. Just didn't expect it to happen so soon!
  • I have had a tumultous month with 2 funerals, a 5 day business trip, 2 graduations, a flood and an upset husband. I have been on/off on the IF during this time due to the craziness of the schedule I had to keep to get it all done. Getting back in gear and praying that my life gets smoother soon. Today has been a good day…
  • I am also trying to increase my activity. I try to walk at least 8000 steps a day. Some days more and some days less but that has been the average. Am slowly increasing this and hope to have a 10000 per day average in a few months.
  • I really think this is going to work for me! I have been fasting between 8 PM to 1PM the next day. I only have coffee and water in the mornings until I have my lunch at 1PM. I was surprised to discover that I haven't been as hungry as I thought I would be (okay a few days there was a lot of growling!). My husband is not a…
  • Very glad you are going to the doctor to check it out. Praying it is a one time thing and not going to be a problem for you. I hope it never happens to me ... 45 years of periods was enough.
  • So far so good for me. I have made it for a week with IF. I have lost 3 pounds so far and weigh in is tomorrow. Hoping for 4!
  • Hello, I started 16/8 intermittent fasting this week. I think this is a lifestyle I can maintain and hope to reap the rewards of a slimmer waist and better health.
  • Me too! It is going to be a lot easier to stay within my daily calorie goal. I also think it is a lifestyle I can keep up.
  • Hallelujah! I logged in to put my dinner stats in and low and behold ... there are my steps!! Thank you whoever fixed it!!
  • Me neither. I tried unattaching FitBit and then re-attaching it to my MFP account. I still do not see where my steps are moving over.
  • I don't think anyone eats "clean" all the time in our modern society. Who doesn't want a Dorito or a Pepsi once in a while?!
  • Oh and my husband is NOT real helpful. He is 6'4" and slim. Today he insisted that we go to KFC for lunch. Not a whole lot of choices there. YUCK!
  • I was on BC pills and still having periods. When I had a yearly check at 56 my weight, cholesterol, heart rate and blood pressure were all up. The doc said these were signs that I was finally going through the change. She took me off the pills and I had my last period and my first hot flash within a month. I felt awful for…
  • Thanks! I know I am not alone and that helps some. I know I have to double down to get that scale to move in the right direction. May we all be successful!
  • I am not new to MFP but back again because I have backslided big time. The reason .... Menopause hit me like a ton of bricks last spring. I am 57 years old and my doctor thought I was going to be in the Guinness World Book of Records. I had my periods regularly up until last spring. My blood pressure/cholestral went up,…
  • I am a FitBit lover too!!! It really motivates me to move more and that can only help me be healthier.
  • I used to live in Lake County many years ago. Today I live in Belleville IL just outside of St. Louis.
