  • I took the day off yesterday from walking and completed 4 miles today. Sounds like everyone's having a great weekend and staying motivated! I'm a little envious of those of you that are able to enjoy being outdoors for your walks...it's just too hot and humid here. I'm going to Colorado in a few weeks and can't wait to…
  • I did my 6 miles today. I do Leslie Sansone's WATP 2 mile Brisk Walk in the morning before work and then the 4 mile Super Challenge from the same DVD in the evenings. I'm going to keep working on jogging in place during the brisk walking portions of the work out as an extra challenge this month. Seems like the Sansone…
  • It is so nice to get to get to know more about everyone in the group. I am most impressed that Marie was able to train her pooch to walk on the treadmill. I tried to teach my pit mix Ruby, but it didn't work quite as easily as Ceasar Milan made it look. Ruby got the last laugh when she chewed plug off the first chance she…
  • I completed 4 more miles, so my total for the challenge is 85 miles. My initial goal was 50 miles (and I wasn't sure I could do that!) For next month, I like the idea of adding crunches or push-ups, etc to the challenge. I was doing the 30 day Shred, but couldn't do all the jumping jacks, etc...so not really interested in…
  • Good luck! Once you realize you deserve to be happy, the rest will follow:flowerforyou:
  • I lost about 90 lbs before I joined this site, but have really enjoyed it since I found out about it from a friend. Never really thought too much about other "social network" sites, but now I'm addicted to this one. Love the recipe sites. I find all kinds of tips on excercises. I actually hated exercising but ended up…
  • Did 4 miles today. Total is at 81 miles. I know we have 1 more day but today is my measurement day so.. in the 4weeks since we've been doing this challenge I've lost 10 lbs and a total of 9.75 inches. YEA! Not a bad way to spend a month:bigsmile: Really looking forward to next month's challenge and my goal is going to be…
  • I decided to do another 2 miles, so that's 5 miles today and 77 miles total.
  • I also have knee issues. Like others I recommend talking to your md and then trying Leslie Sansone's DVD's. There are even a few of her workouts available on youtube that you can access for free. You can make them as light or as intense as you are comfortable with. I am part of a challenge group on MFP called the SWaT…
  • I freeze all my wraps and bread and take out only as I'm using it. I zap it in the microwave a few seconds and it's ready to go or toast it.
  • I walked 3 miles this morning of LS's Advanced Walk. Brings my total to 75 miles. I also just finished mowing my lawn and feel like I've run a Texas version of a medievel gauntlet between dodging the fire ants and the mesquitos....lol Time for a big glass of iced tea. Happy Sunday everyone:flowerforyou:
  • Please don't get frustrated. You really do have to look at this as a lifetime commitment. 5lbs lost is 5lbs to be proud of. And like others have said, it really is a healthy rate. Another thing you may try doing is tracking your measurements. When my weight loss seems to slow, often I am losing inches. Take pride in the…

  • I only walked 2 miles this evening, not feeling the best today. I may try to do the other 2 miles later, will wait and see. But that brings my total to 72 miles. Hope everyone's having a great Saturday. Rob, congratulations on completing 4 miles:flowerforyou: Kathy, thanks so much for sharing all the links with us:happy:
  • HI Chris, I'm also a nurse and a Type 2 diabetic. When I was first diagnosed I was put on glucophage. Truthfully it scared the crap out of me and I lost weight on a very strict diet and eventually was able to get off the meds. But as I've learned, diets don't work and after several years I guess I became lax, gained weight…
  • I just did another 4 miles of Sansone's Ultimate Challenge DVD. I think so far it's my favorite, but I haven't tried many of her others yet. I did like the WATPs for abs too. Everyone have a great weekend!
  • lol...that damn little voice. It would be so much better if there was just a Mute button for it!
  • Welcome Jen! This really is a great site. I've been an emotional eater my entire life and ended up at 325lbs. Some of your story is very similar to mine. I'm diabetic, hypertensive, etc. But, I am now totally diet controlled, medication free and just had some amazing lab results. I still have about 54lbs to lose, but I'm…
  • Hey that's great Rob. And Sandy, I know exactly what you mean, there must be something in the air today. I really didn't want to do the 4 mile walk that I had planned to do this evening. Was actually convincing myself on the drive home from work that 2 miles would be fine because I'm so close to me revised goal and besides…
  • Thanks for sharing!
  • Wow guys, can't believe we've walked 400 miles..that's insane:flowerforyou: Congratulations to all of us! Today I walked another 4 miles from Leslie Sansone's WATP's Ultimate Challenge DVD. Today's the first day I did with my HRM. I was shocked to see that it said I burned 835 calories. I'd not been claiming nearly that…
  • Hi Katie, This is a great site to find support to help you through those tough times. What I'm about to say is going to sound so cliche but it is true. You have to decide that you are worth more than the tempory void the food is going to fill. And it is just tempory. Go for a walk, read a book, dust the furniture (not my…
  • Did 4 miles of WATP's DVD for a total of 58 miles.
  • I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in South Texas and it's too hot to live here without A/C! Sorry, I have no suggestions at all for you. It makes me tired just thinking about it..lol.

  • I'm also diabetic and am now able to control it with my diet and weight loss alone. My glucose levels were in the 300's in Oct 2009 and now run consistently in the 80's. You can do this. I sent you a friend request:smile:
  • Congratulations...feels great doesn't it!
  • I've completed 10 days of level 1 and done 2 days of level 2. But I don't think the Shred is the right work out for me. It is really too hard on my knees. And it seems like I'm modifying so much I'm not sure I'm getting the most out of my time. So, I'm dropping out of this challenge for now. Maybe after I get below the…
  • Tried a new LS's WATPs DVD and did the 4 mile version for the first time today. Wow, what a workout! Anyway, that's 54 total miles now. Since we started this challenge, I've lost 8lbs and a total of 6.5 inches. Thank you all so much for keeping me motivated.
  • definite bump:smile:
  • I walked 3 miles yesterday and another 3 miles today...meeting my original 50 mile goal ahead of schedule. I plan to walk another 21 miles this upcoming week:happy: I really look forward to walking and really missed it the one day I wasn't able to get a workout in. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
  • L1D9 completed today...thank god! Tomorrow is supposed to be my day off, but think I'll go ahead and do it, then take Friday off before starting level 2. Even though I had to modify the jumping jacks, I can definitely tell a difference from when I started day 1.
