  • Thank you to those who left constructive information. I kinda figured it was a fad which was why I asked. Wanted to hear people's opinions on metabolism. Already eating at a deficit and I have always found skipping breakfast works for me for that because I am not hungry in the morning. I can remember hearing I shouldnt do…
  • Geez. Sorry for using the forums. No need to be a jerk. Why comment at all? I guess I should crawl back to my hole because you know my 101 or so forum posts ever are OBVIOUSLY cluttering the internet. I was researching but there are a lot of fads and it's easy to go down the rabbit hole and I was curious what people…
  • Walmart also carries Jolly Rancher water flavor powder. It's like 5 calories mixed with a bottle of water and tastes like candy. if you're craving like juice or hard candies...
  • Best thing I usually do is only grab one serving. Go to another room and eat it and then wait and don't get more until a little time has passed. That way you're not accidentally over-doing it. If you give yourself time you start to feel more satisfied and are less likely to go back up and overdo it as bad. Apples and…
  • I started thinking about someone just eating spoonfuls of sugar and my brain made me taste cotton candy. Now I want cotton candy.
  • I just keep track of my heart rate for the time and keep it as constant as I can and then put that in with my weight to estimate calories. The gazelle actually gave me a similar number but it never asked for my weight so I doubt it is terribly accurate normally.
  • I did end up finding a used older model with resistance. But yes the ones I looked at at the store had none.
  • (forgot to quote) this is a response to a few posts earlier. I had someone PM me about how I should just buy a pair of running shoes. Not everyone lives in a temperate environment with sidewalks. Yes I do often walk. I can even drive to a nice place with walking paths and walk and that is great when it is not freezing and…
  • haha no idea....I think Gazelle is one of those things where you know how to make it work for you or you hate it kinda things. LOL After using it so far I have found that you can get a pretty varied workout depending on body position alone but you have to actively be thinking about it. I can get my Heart rate up just fine…
  • my husband likes these frozen pizzas that I think STINK they give me heartburn. He loves them. So when I am making something low calorie that he wouldnt like he usually eats that. Sometimes we eat similar meals except I add more cheese/bigger portions for him.
  • I found one on craigslist that has a resistance bar. It was very affordable so I picked it up. I need to tighten some things because although it glides silently when the resistance bar is attached it is a little noisy. I used it with my heart rate monitor and it is a lot easier than an elliptical but even with no…
  • Haha that would require talking to them. Yeah I could consider asking them what appropriate hours would be. May be if I bring them a small gift and ask nicely- the wife doesnt seem to have a job so I never know when she will be home. I might try asking them.
  • Bob Harper? I will look up. I was doing Jillian Miachaels but had to stop every time she did cardio besides punching because I didnt wanna piss off the neighbors
  • haha that's what I was worried about. I havent heard as many things about gazelle except you cannot change resistance.. is it less of a workout?
  • Dollar tree has zero calorie coffee flavor syrups. Vanilla, hazelnut, and caramel. That plus something like almond milk would be good and low calorie. Also a squirt of reddi whip as one squirt is pretty low cal.
  • I watch sodium. I find that I crave high sodium foods the most and by watching sodium the calories and everything else seems to fall into place. For me sodium seems to be the hardest goal to meet. Fresh foods made from scratch really. Eating packaged foods and eating out and even eating "low calorie" foods often result in…
  • yeah I am just doing it for taste anyways. My favorite combinations that I have found are lemon cucumber lemon cucumber mint cucumber mint lemon blackberry
  • I think it is a good snack food in moderation but not great for everyday meal food. Usually lots of sodium and other junk added. But yummy I like it. http://blog.fooducate.com/2011/10/22/9-things-to-know-about-surimi-fake-crab/
  • Air popped popcorn. You can buy a popcorn popping bowl at target/walmart/amazon all you do is add the kernels. you dont even have to add oil. Read the labels on the kernels in case some brands are more low calorie than others but 31 calories for a whole cup. You could have a huge huge movie theater size bag of it for not…
  • I have had shirataki. As said above rinse them very well. If rinsed and cooked well there will be no smell or taste. The shirataki ones go best in an aisian dish like a stir fry but can be substituted for pasta. Just get it into your head before you eat them that they are more of a rubbery asian style noodle and not…
  • I should have been more specific on the title, eh? Haha I am assuming yes. I googled it but am not coming up with much...:P Ended up loving them for what they are though. Worth a try
  • People ranting and raving about other people like they have a PHD on the subject and they are solving a world crisis. Who cares what other people do? If you really think what you "know" they are doing wrong please do it only once and tactfully. Otherwise just keep your mouth shut or unadd them.
  • cilantro and fresh lime juice. Eat with a fresh pico de gallo mmmmmm
  • try weighing only once a week... I can have a couple pound difference just throughout a single day due to water retention
  • Sodium will cause fluctuation. It is common to lose a bit more the first week. Water weight and all.. If you watch your sodium and drink lots of water it will start to level out a little bit and everything will go to normal rates as you lose fat. Also weigh yourself in the same place at the same time every day with the…
  • From Minnesota- will always be my home. living in OoooooooooooooKlahoma
  • I make a creamy buffalo dip by adding a small amount of buffalo sauce into greek yogurt. May be a smidgin of blue cheese or ranch to the mix too. It is creamy and low sodium but sadly not as spicy. A few drops of the tabasco buffalo (not regular tabasco) makes it spicy again
  • Is it kind of like Shirataki noodles?
  • I have found that changing how I eat and exercise has made me feel better regardless of weight loss. And although no it is not the ultimate goal, yes I do need to loose the poundage pretty bad. From everything I have noticed though I have to eat at or over 1200 just because I dont wanna kill my metabolism. It seems like…
