Amazing!!!!

I started Five to 10K last night. I planned to run earlier in the day, but it was so humid. The weather cooled off after the sun went down and I went for it. I got back at 10:30 at night, but I felt good. I even did one of my T25 workouts after. I am doing distance this time around. It took me an hour to do the run, but I…

Sometimes it is hard to do everything at once, but I have been working out six days a week, running 3 and T25 3. 2 of those 3 T25 days I double up. Since the program is only 25 min, doubling up is difficult, but not impossible. Weight loss is my ultimate goal, so I feel like I have to do both to get the results I want.

Completed C25K for the second time. This time distance. I am going to do another round of Five to 10k too, distance as well. I am not focusing speed, it is all about distance for me right now. I am doing Focus T25 as well. I have accepted that I can't run and do T25 the same days. Tried it, but it just isn't working.…

Thanks Laura, and Congrats on your Half

I ran my first 5K this Sunday since having surgery in February. It was a last minute decision to do the race since I had decided to focus on gaining miles instead of races. But this one was near my neighborhood at a beautiful park on the waterfront and it was only $20 to register on site. I restarted C25K distance a few…

Says the man who admits on the internet that he bashed in a driver's window because he came too close all to show driver's that cyclists aren't easy targets. Yes that may work in Virginia, but I hope you aren't bonkers enough to try that nationwide. And regardless if the driver was that close, you responded violently. So…
-
I am not concerned, because unless someone bashes my windows in which is a direct threat to me, then cyclists are safe across the world. If anyone should be worried, it is the guy who has admitted to property damage. I hope that driver is not a member of MFP and haven't been able to track him down to cover the repairs.
-
I guess we just can't agree, because I see your act of bashing the driver's window as aggression and any response by the driver would be self-defense. You want drivers to fear cyclists, then you really are crazy. Why should drivers fear cyclists? Drivers should not set out to target cyclists, but cyclist who respond with…

Tapping/hitting people with your car is more crazy than hitting a vehicle that crowds you (not that I think that a great idea either though) I find it interesting that you feel you are justified in "tapping" pedestrians that make you sit through two lights (no physical danger to you) but you think the other poster needs…

Yes I agree that it was the bikers fault for brake checking the Range Rover. But his friends banging on the windows and slashing the tires only escalated matters. If they hadn't responded that way, the driver wouldn't have felt the need to run over the bikers with his SUV, paralyzing him.
-
I have never tapped a cyclist, but yes if someone bashes my window in with a baton like the poster said, I would use my vehicle as a weapon. I don't know where you get respect by bashing people's windows in, but I do know that bashing someone's windows in is enough to get arrested, seriously injured or killed. Though this…

How stupid are you to bash someone's window in. You could have been arrested or worse killed if you messed with the wrong driver. You are playing a dangerous game buddy. In a battle of car vs bicycle, which one could land you in the morgue? You are fortunate to not come across a driver like me, because the tap is a warning.
-
I have to be honest, hitting or bashing my window won't get you respect from me, it would get you run over. Cars are 3 tons of metal and can kill you. You should consider respecting that, instead of trying to show that you can go toe to toe with the cars. I use to drive a lot in Manhattan and pedestrians don't stop…

I admit, I have little patience for cyclists when i am driving. I just don't get the desire to be on bicycle, fully exposed n traffic with large vehicles that could kill you. It is dangerous to me. Maybe that is my NYC upbringing where most were raised to ride on the sidewalk or at the park. My husband bought me a bike…

I like roasted veggies, but I have never tried putting veggies together. I usually just roast potatoes or asparagus or brussel sprouts etc. I will have to come up with some combinations. Sounds tasty.

Thanks Varda, knowing that I can do it makes huge difference. I'm going to keep at it for a couple of months before I do any races.

I either use my Foreman grill or the oven. Both will get it crispy, but the oven does the best job. I put it under the broiler. It will cook very fast, so don't forget about it unless you want burnt turkey bacon

Hey everyone, it has been a long time since I posted in here. I was unable to run for several months due to health issues and surgery. I was very discouraged when I did finally run and couldn't make it a half mile without stopping. But I decided to start from ground zero. I started the C25K program from the beginning, but…

I have done Insanity and I am currently finishing up the Alpha phase of T25. I prefer T25 because I am drenched with sweat after just 25 minutes. My avatar is right after at T25 workout. I get a good workout in not a lot of time. This leaves me time to go on with my day or do other activities. I also like to run. I lost…

See it is pointless. The reason why so many complain about the main forums is because there are people who have no interest in truly being someone's fitness pal. Motivation and support gets a back seat to snark and gifs. They are mean because they are telling it like it is, But in reality, they are mean because they want…

Actually I have 3 years experience in the MFP world as opposed to your one. I don't have to post thousands of times to understand the climate here. There was a time when I did post daily. There was a time when I did call out posts that I thought were negative and mean. I posted several kumbaya topics that were overtaken by…

I am not being presumptuous. I know nothing about how you conduct yourself other than on this particular topic. You have spent pages debating that this behavior does not exist. It does. . Examples actually have been given over the last 8 pages, like the Law School post mentioned by the OP. You may not perceived the posts…

I have read this entire thread and you have posted numerous times. You have requested examples of your behavior in other threads. I am not familiar with you so I don't know what you do. No one can dispute that topics such as these are relatively common on MFP and have been around at least a weekly basis since I joined…

I have become more of a lurker on the main MFP forums in the last year or so because of the climate here. I have found the greatest motivation and support on this site to come from friends or groups. I have never understood the hostility and meanness, especially on something that is as difficult as weight loss. If it was…

I am from Brooklyn, NY but i have been in Toronto for the last 3 years. My husband is British/Canadian. I am now a housewife, but not by choice. The immigration process has been so frustrating that we plan to move back to the States. Hopefully by the end of the summer. Looking forward to rejoining the workforce and a…
