Maybe 13kg ago I might have found a use for one... :p
-
Yep! Helps to have long legs, I guess :)

Here's one that just worked for me: Tell your hairdresser you're dieting. If you see them once every six weeks, they should notice the difference. Give them permission to give you a hard time if they don't see a significant change in weight between appointments.
-
Right you are. I'm not sure houses use bras but what would I know?
-
Meh. Richard Eden is a gossip monger. I think it's far from a certainty. I'm not believing anything until I see a BBC announcement.
-
There. I started nine weeks ago, and spent the whole of the w1d1 workout wanting to die. Today I ran for 30 minutes and cleared well over 5k. So that's that done. Yay me.

You are my new favourite.

Click the Food tab, then click "Settings" in the lower tab ribbon, and choose which nutrients to track. Carbs, Fat, Protein and Sodium are useful. I wouldn't bother with the others as the food diary doesn't include them for most foods, so it's not going to be accurate. You can see how you're doing at the bottom of your…

It's no hoax! I'm just trying to remain unspoiled until Saturday. I wonder whether hanging around Internet forums mightn't perhaps be a bad idea...
-
If you hog it you blog it If you kissed it you list it If you lick it you stick it ... in your diary. If you ingest, it must be confessed. OK I'll stop now.

This! Also: If you're hungry, have something decent to eat. Nibbling just adds calories without helping you through your day. If you're not hungry, a drink of water or a sugar-free mint might be all you need to stop the craving! Sometimes I need to remember to hang on to my goals so I can hold out until the next meal.

Ahh, Whittakers! One thing about living away from New Zealand is that it's easier to diet in places where they don't sell that stuff! IIRC Whittakers bars are 6 squares by 9 or 10 - so that's either 54 or 60 squares in a king size block. The Internet says the block is 250g so it's 4.2 or 4.6 grams per square. Your 2…

Try moving your scales around the room and around the house and see if you get different numbers each time. You want to have your scales on the hardest surface possible for accurate weighing.

I think that when River said she met the Doctor in reverse order she wasn't right. If you think about it, we've met her at all types of different times in her life, all jumbled up. As it stands, there is no reason why we won't keep on seeing River Song for as long as writers want to bring the character in.

Reasonable point. It's hard not to mock when there are so many folks suggesting that what the world needs is MORE nutters running about with guns, but safety is a genuine issue. Do you HAVE to run in the dark rapey woods? Light and people prevent far more crime than weapons and weaponised dogs.

Thanks folks. Looking forward to joining you in the Graduation thread! Did W1D1 yesterday. Matter over mind seems to be the key so far...

This is the longest we've gone without new Who since 2005. Still, at least we know we have it to look forward to! It's better than those dark old years in the 1990s.

1200 cal/day is as low as this site will go! I suspect you may have made some mistakes on your Diet Profile. Go back to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided and check carefully. Are you using the wrong units? If you're weighing yourself in kilograms then make sure the input fields don't say "lb". It is…

Also, it might seem cheesy, but it's worth filling out your profile: Thinking about the About Me, the Why I Want To... and the Inspirations really helps with motivation. Also you might want to share your diary with your friends once you've got some, as it helps with accountability. You'll see that I misbehaved a bit today…
-
You're right: having a network of active friends helps you to keep on track. I'll add you to mine if you like. :)

Ugh! Now I'm thinking about beer ... and I'm already over the calorie limit today! Time for a bit of exercise...

"This is not life! This is ... sickness." - the Dalek in Dalek I use this one quite a lot when things start going disturbingly wrong.

Wow! Who would have thought you'd get such a bunch of Yahoo answers? If you feel anxious without someone around, that's a real feeling. It's likely to cause problems for you and your family that you feel that way, so I suggest you seek counselling or some other kind of help. It is available, and it doesn't necessarily cost…

Sun's shining and the beaches are busy here in New Zealand... Hoping for a white Christmas when I move to Britain next year.

Puff shrooms. Two of those and the whole back yard is safe.

Sounds to me like you've been putting on muscle. You say you've been doing strength training; you say your clothes fit differently; you say you look different. If you'd been tracking your waist and neck measurements you'd probably have seen the changes there. Congratulations on your early weight loss! And congratulations…

I never thought I'd start looking forward to Christmas, but since Steven Moffat became head writer of Doctor Who things have changed...

You're not making yourself fit for anyone else - you're doing it for YOU. Other people have different ideas of how to be fit, and they certainly have a wide variety of fitness goals. Your fitness goals are your own, and if they aren't the same as other people's, and if your methods for achieving them are different from…
